It's such a disgusting website. It's literally full of articles by rich, over educated white women where they tell everyone else why they should be offended, about everything. It's really pathetic.
 
The thing that bothers me a little about these type of fans is they so easily have their buttons pushed to have money made out of them. I have a friend, she's a good person so not mocking her, she's obsessed with female heroes like the Hunger Games girl and she has posters of them all. When she saw Rey in the SW trailer she went out and bought all 6 films to watch beforehand. You just have to make any movie or comic with a noble looking, brave woman and they start throwing money/acclaim.

Depends on the anime. They love Miyazaki's stuff and Sailor Moon and to a lesser extent, magical girls in general. When it's something that would appeal more to teenage or adult cishet men (especially in the loins), then they don't like it.

TBH most superheroines in Marvel either come from X-Men or are D-listers, so yeah, they probably won't be featured much in the MCU.
 
When superhero movies are popular, the complaint is how the female characters are all poor stereotypes and shouldn't be watched. When the movies become unpopular, the narrative switches to how the fact nobody is watching is clearly because of misogyny, the men are all staying home because a super-powered woman upsets them and their world-view. The argument is not consistent, not concrete, based on feelings and infinitely malleable so that the narrative remains "women are done wrong in fiction, yet again" regardless of circumstance.

Love how she says "guess which two characters don't have a movie: Falcon and Black Widow (and also Hawkeye but he doesn't count because REASONS even if both Falcon and Widow have had major roles in several other films)".

It only counts when it supports my point :)

Also a lot of women with fertility issues defended the Black Widow scene in Age of Ultron and said it was good to see a woman (especially a superhero) acknowledging those feelings in a movie, but again, that doesn't count because TMS didn't like it.

Funny thing there was an anime recently made about living in a ultra PC future society where sex wasn't even discussed. People were rounded up and taken to jail for having secret caches of 20 year old porn magazines, also swearing.
