not to mention all of that rule text. It makes me miss the days of simple, but powerful Vanilla creatures like Watchwolf and Woolly Thotctar.
I blame the commodification of commander. Commander designed cards have had text creep AND power creep.

That being said, I don't mind rules text - vanilla 2 mana 2/2's are boring after a while. Questing Beast is my favorite card.

Very tiresome.

People seem convinced autists play MtG like other autists watch movies/anime; just out there looking for ships and pairings.
And not for, you know, thinking about mana curves or tempo or creative rule-bending.

Also, if you must pre-inform people your characters are [insert flavor here] then maybe it feels quite fucking forced. No one is assuming a silver golem is straight, for example. It just is until we see his stats; then it's either overpriced cardboard or worthless cardboard (the only two genders that exist in MtG).

I feel like quarantine really jumped the first type of people up. I swear those hyperwoke people and shippers taint every hobby they come across they abandon it once it's no longer considered "cool"/"edgy" to like whatever non-mainstream thing they infested.

I have friends who have been playing MTG since 1993, and none of them (some who are LGBT) DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE CHARACTERS GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR RACE AT ALL.

I'd say it's pretty "forced" when you aim to make the majority of the character bi/pan/trans when they are the minority of the minority. As forced as making a movie set in Fedual Japan and making the whole cast disabled Muslim trannies.

The only time I've ever heard someone reference a character's orientation in person was some obnoxious faggot at the Eldraine prerelease who wouldn't shut up about how he wanted to fuck Oko.

I guess waifu playmats and sleeves are also a thing but everyone thinks those are autistic as shit.

Really I just want to play wizard poker, please stop bringing your grody faggotry into it.

Here's my question. How the fuck do you even know or care to know the sexuality of a 2"x1.5" illustration on a card with a shitload of rules text? Who knows this except for the shippers at WotC headquarters?

Like hell I'm reading one of their faggy books. The card game is overpriced enough already.

Mindflayers still eat brains, right? This ugly elf thing is about to die. :optimistic:
Are its arms supposed to be that stumpy or did they fuck up the foreshortening?
That's, most likely, a rakshasa. In dnd they have inverted hands. They are lawful evil outsiders, prone to decieving and scheming. Also they like to do disturbing and evil shit for lmaos.
Sparing us a deep dvelling into sourcebooks, I would assume it would take two very spechial members of their respective species to even feel love. Not completly impossible, since dnd multiverse has an abundance of gods and higher beings, who might find creating horrors beyound human comprehension as an amusing pasttime. But I feel like I give it more thought than whoever came up with this idea. I think it was either somebodys sloppy fanfiction/dm idea, or somebodys idea of diversity, who suffered effects of heavy hangover that day.

Sparing us a deep dvelling into sourcebooks,
No need, since I already know this. AD&D FR had rakshashas hanging out with mindflayers because the latter can't suck the brains out of extraplanar beings.

That's real weird esoteric knowledge though. Pretty sure whoever drew this was like oh that's a catman and a tentacle person this is my fetish.
