Man i get so scared when i have no meaningful way to interact with the game and every enemy is a bag of infinite hp
The problem isn't even the HP of enemies. early on in the game there's maybe one lockpick per four cabinets and if you're lucky you can open two, if you're unlucky the lockpick will break on the first try, you also can't buy the recipe for them until you pass by quite a few of the cabinets. And the worst part is, some of the cabinets are hard to see what's in them and some also contain utter crap like a coil and herb when you're already at max because you don't have access to the recipes that need them. The crafting mechanics just feel poorly thought out and it probably should have restricted you to only crafting at certain locations while being more generous with materials since the real limitation in the game is your limited inventory space and being able to craft ammo and healing items mid fight trivializes things.

From the beginning she was eager and she knew what she was getting into. She even sounded arouse when she was saying yes to their offering.. This was intended from the start
.
I took that as her wanting to go with them to the torture sex dungeons because she wouldn't have been able to communicate with Pinhead to make the deal before then.

right... therefore she was planning this...

You're misunderstanding. I'm saying she didn't get in the relationship with the MC to become a cenobite. She got in the relationship with the MC to have degen sex. Then she got the cube and at that moment used the MC to get taken away by the cenobites so she can mega coom. Then once they took her, Pinhead offered her the chance to GIGA coom if she was part of the rite of rebirth. She made a series of decisions to get what she wanted at the time, but would then get the chance to get more of what she wanted if she kept going.

Basically Sunny is really dumb but incredibly lucky.

No problem, I just really think it's funny how awful Sunny is as a human being but isn't some genius schemer. In fact, if the cube didn't work for her right then and there the cult would have captured her and probably torture her to death. It's just fascinating how utterly shit she is and how they could have very easily ruined her character.

I mean if you have something all the time then Ammo/durability isn't relevant anyways.
You have a basic unbreakable knife you get at the beginning. It's shit but it's something.

Better melee is found around and drops off certain enemies but has durability but can also be repaired/temporarily upgraded through small or larger repair kits.

Guns don't have durability but ammo is scarce. Finding, buying, crafting.

As shit ramps up around the middle point up you go slightly to hunter vs hunted and get chunkier stuff like a mp5k and a ak. But still need to find/buy/buycraftinrecipethencraft said ammo.

EDIT: There's also the cube's powers itself which lets you use some stuff found laying around (blades, fire eventually, etc.). But the cube can't hold onto whatever it is indefinitely.

I can't get over how utterly evil the MC's gf is.
I mean, she's this game's Frank. I wouldn't expect her to be a great person.

My understanding of the story was that she figured out what the Genesis Configuration is supposed to do - something that Marlowe got wrong - and armed with this knowledge summoned Cenobites to offer herself as a part of the ritual in exchange for being allowed to join their group if the ritual is successful. Her file in the cult headquarters says that she was interested in the occult and used her father's money to obtain occult literature and artifacts.

I figured the game wants me to use stealth and stealthy takedowns more often so that's how I played until my box became more powerful. Being able to summon chains was extremely satisfying, shame you get this ability so late in the game.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the tranny boss. I expected it's going to be Bruno and Marlowe, so it was fairly strange to be randomly attacked by an extremely unhinged flying tranny.

That sounds hillarious.
Pays into my suspicion that the genesis of this game was "let's have a deranged guro cult VS regular BDSM dude", then someone kept putting into Hellraiser references untill it became feasible to obtain licensing

I think it utilizes Hellraiser mythos pretty well. The box is crucial to both story and gameplay and you spend a lot of time in the Labyrinth, it even adds some new lore that doesn't ruin the setting.

The biggest issue with that is how she could have known the cult had the Genesis Configuration specifically. The way the cult works is you have to party at their sex club for a while to stand out as a degenerate among degenerates to get a chance to learn more, and that document made it seem like the cult didn't know who she was before looking into her. Plus she wouldn't have had any way to know that the rite of rebirth was currently in the process of happening until after she summoned the cenobites unless she speedran the cult compound and read all of their incriminating files when she stole the cube. Actually, how did she even get it from them?
Also Marlowe assumed the rite of rebirth was for him because he was a massive narcissist that couldn't imagine that the cenobites weren't visiting because they thought he was so cool.

I had meant to bring that up earlier but forgot so thank you for doing it. I actually loved that character because he will never be a real woman, nor will he ever be a real cenobite. It honestly felt super on the nose that Marlowe looked at a tranny obsessed with BDSM and went "ah, yes, this troon is the perfect representation of what were once mortals twisted and mutilated into divine images of never ending pleasure seeking."

I assumed she learned about it doing her own research. She obviously stole the box from the cult, because the tranny faux-Cenobite was created before the game started, but she wasn't following their practices, she actually tried to solve it, unlike the cultists who were trying to shove it inside their bodies. It's also possible that when she successfully initiated the ritual and was deemed appropriate, Pinhead himself told her what to do next.

That thing where she rebirths him is fucking weird and more Silent Hill than Hellraiser
He's been turned back into a human three times (in Hellbound, Judgement and 2012 comic books) so it's nice to see him ascendfor once, even if the game doesn't really explains what it means. It's also thematically fitting - they exist in an ever-changing Labyrinth, so it's appropriate that they themselves undergo some changes. There was a cut scene from Hellbound where Chatter is given new eyes, for example (the scene was cut but at one point he just becomes less scarred and has eyes).

So I double checked the files, the surveillance document on Sunny doesn't mention her researching anything, just that she buys stuff associated with the occult. Unless I missed some important file that explains everything, it really just feels like Sunny either lucked into finding out about it or Zora stumbled onto Sunny and told her after immediately seeing what an awful, selfish person she was.

Quick aside, am I the only one that thought Bruno convincing the MC into not killing him was kinda funny? Aidan knew Bruno needed sacrifices to come back to life and that there was no one left to revive him, he could have killed him for good but was presumably too sick of the whole situation to even bother.

Bruno was a strange character. After trying to kill each other several times, for some reason MC and Bruno part ways as buddies for no apparent reason.
Another strange moment was in the ending sequence, where Female tells you that you didn't have to kill those people \ bosses you feed to Sunny. Like, dude, they were literal monsters that attacked me, am I supposed to feel bad about killing them?

Yeah, it really felt like it was a holdover from an earlier version of the game. Maybe they originally intended for the bosses to be people like Bruno, and just forgot to change that line when they went with monster bosses? The only one that the line works for is the troon since Aidan briefly feels bad about killing him since he was in a similar situation as Aidan.
