Literally Daggerfall, it was cool for its time and still is...when it works of course. It'll be far worse if done now, especially now that its harder to fill in the gaps with your imagination. We've also had handmade dungeons from Morrowind to Skyrim so to go from that to procedurally generated dungeons would kill a lot of the exploration for a lot of people. Look at Starfield, randomly generated from templates that often repeated itself because there aren't that many templates lol.
Fuck, you're right. Literally just Starfield in Tamriel.
Daggerfall was carried by its lore and story. Both of which are no longer strong suits for Bethesda games in the 2020s. I hope they don’t butcher the original TES lore, but I don’t have high hopes after what they did to Fallout.

And with Starfield, many of those dungeon templates were completely immersion breaking depending on which planet they spawned on. I’d land on uninhabitable planets with toxic atmospheres or no air and I’d find caves with dead alien animals in them or campsites with sleeping bags just set up out in the open.

they said TESO is also canon once, TESO, who brought you this shit:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=kQ-gtWwwDRUit's beyond ogre.

Got a summary? I ain't watching an hour and a half be told how TESO somehow raped the lore harder into the dirt than adding in Ithelia, which means than literally nothing matters because anything can be changed on a whim.

Sheo isn't as good as he was in the previous games. All he talks about is cheese and sounds like he was written by redditors who only saw the cheese bits. The quest itself is irrelevant since it's the same boring shit as the rest of ESO's quests.

Sheogorath talks about cheese for an hour haha. At one point he says "Oh my Wabbajack" while soyfacing. I remember one part (from another summary) where another character manages to trick Sheogorath into handing over the Wabbajack to him by literally saying "oooh, that looks heavy, let me hold it for you" because Sheo is now a buffoon who doesn't think two steps ahead despite Sheo previously having actual goals he worked towards and being arguably one of the smartest Daedric Princes when he wanted to be.

They essentially summarise this version of Sheo when he says something along the lines of 'nonsense is the only good response to an uncaring world' implying he's some kind of world weary comedian and not the interplanar entity of raw change born from Lorkhan's death who would casually tear a woman's bones from her living flesh to make a flute or cause someone to kill their family out of paranoid delusions.
I think the biggest difference is this Sheogorath (and the one in Skyrim, honestly) seem to exist to make the player laugh, when Shivering Isles/earlier lore Sheo did things that made himself laugh especially when no-one else would find it funny.

skyrim sheo still fucks with a dead dude for reasons only he cares about though, redditgorah on the other hand... well, there's the video.

Oblivion dungeons were "handmade" in name only.
I think Oblivion dungeons are overhated compared to the other titles in the series. It's not like morrowind or Skyrim had much more variation either.
I think why Oblivion likely feels more egregious is that more Oblivion quests send you down into a dungeon compared to Morrowind, and Skyrim manages to pull off some good tricks like the first dungeon being entirely handcrafted as it was the primary gameplay showcase dungeon, and reaching Blackreach for the first time being a big awe moment.

Oblivion has some good tricks like the Ayleid ruin dungeon that will be the first for most players, Vilverin, where you find a bandit camp where the leader writes about members of their group vanishing in the dungeon, then behind a secret door you find the corpse of one of the bandits along with several zombies appearing from hidden doors, half the dungeon being a necromancer lair.
There's Fort Sundercliff that contains an entire army inside with their own barracks and smith located inside the dungeon.
The dungeon with an underground forest.
Dungeons with two Goblin factions fighting one another, same with bandits and marauders in Rockmilk Cave.
The shivering isles dungeon where you get to play as a dungeon master.
Even unassuming dungeons sometime have surprises like an enormous mudcrab, or a massive hidden treasure room.

Can't say I'm too surprised with that one. Bethesda LOVES to flanderize everything it gets its hands on given enough time. Just look at what they did with Fallout: it went from a serious alternate history retro scifi setting to le post apocalyptic whacky 50's land.

Lol isn't that the guy who got assmad over Michael Kirkbride only to immediately get buckbroken by people with at least basic literacy into reuploading, censoring the shit out of, and then ultimately deleting said video more than once? His favorite card game died and so he became a retarded sloptuber...well he already was.

I had to look up his Kirkbride video. Imagine getting upset at Kirkbride for adding sexual assault and gore to some of his texts.

Now what you should criticise Kirkbride for is leaving Bethesda before they struck gold with Morrowind to do basically nothing of note for 20 years besides small contributions to future elder scrolls titles, then get the opportunity to be the narrative lead for a big AAA title thst cost $85 million to make, and completely fumble it with a boring cookie cutter fantasy game where you constantly get quipped at by your black friend..

Like I'm not going to be some armchair psychologist here, but I don't think Kirkbride would get the opportunity to be a lead developer for Immortals of Avaeum without ton of youtube essayists and lore nerds fellating Kirkbride for something he did nearly two decades prior. And he has to feel slighted at how disliked the work he was narrative lead on was by consumers.
If he wasn't salty before about just being the morrowind guy who did drugs, it's probable he will be now

can't wait for tes6 to require NVMe SSDs unless you want to wait for tes7 for the main menu to load (and then crash)
Who's still using spinning rust in 2026? NVMe's were common for years before their prices went retarded so if you're still rocking a SSD C: drive you have no one to blame but yourself.

SSD C?
Fancy pants over here not using a 17 year old HDD.

Joking of course. Only half my data are stored on dark age technology.

are you confused because neither have any moving parts
SATA and NVMe are both SSDs
I was referencing the idiots that got pissed at Bethesda when Saarfield came out and their HDD made it so their load times were measured in minutes. But you are right, Todd's gonna make you upgrade your PC so you can play TES: Redguard Lives Matter.

When did PC players become so fucking poor and retarded?

I see shit like this and I'm fucking baffled. NVMe SSD's became the mainstream standard in like 2018.

I'm starting to think Todd is right and a lot of you need to upgrade your fucking shit. And not just the god damn GPU.

todd did mention you needed a NVMe to play saarfield, TES6 will use CE2 so yeah...
i only hope it's not 100GB+ like saarfield is.
