If this is true, then I fucking hate the bootlicking side of the fandom even more now for acting like Glitch never did anything wrong

LMAOOOO I CALLED IT these mofos are absolutely not equipped to deal with global film distribution let alone something thats supposed to be pg13/pretty kid friendly.

I callllled it that getting this shit approved, rated, etc in all these different countries, especially so close to release and especially as an indie animated movie that would also have to meet stricter standards if they want the kid friendly rating was a horrendous and extremely risky idea. I feel so vindicated.

Usually indie movies are pretty mature anyways so them being unrated (and automatically 18+ for the time being) doesnt matter since it wasnt gonna be suitable for kids anyways (and theyre often only distributed to filmhouses/art-cinemas/whatever anyways), but when most of your fanbase is minors and youre trying to get this shit in commercial cinema chains as a pg13/bbc12/whatever rated movie you dont have that type of flexibility.

Getting your movie rated costs money btw, a starting fee and then something like €x/minute. Often being like 3000 total afaik. Per country. I imagine discussions with possible distributors arent free either or any of that other bs. So probably also some money wasted only not to be able to show it anyways :biggrin:

There will be a lottt of disappointed kids, parents and teens in my region if this thing doesnt get rated before release, because countries here do not let ANY minors into unrated movies even with a guardian with them. A lot of tickets that have already been bought would have to get cancelled.

I feel euphoric, its been a while since ive predicted something this well.

Meanwhile Glitch can’t even manage the bare minimum of sending out review copies, publicly complains about theaters wanting them in the first place (which is incredibly professional, by the way) and apparently doesn’t even have the manpower to answer emails.

The whole thing is a complete clusterfuck on their part.

Also why is Gameoverse being made and released before Guinevere and Gaslight? Is it just because they want cat waifu to keep people interested now that clown waifu will be gone soon?

Most of the incompetence is definitely on Glitch itself. Honestly as tempting as it is its hard to really blame Cooper when they allegedly already had to pressure him into the cinema thing in the first place, tho I wouldn't be surprised if the anal behaviour about 'leak prevention' might be at least partially his fault.

Now many countries on the planet have some pretty dumb and outdated ways of doing things that they refuse to change, the whole mailing the movie on an usb stick thing is pretty stupid imo, but that is a well known fact about Japan and Korea by now and yet they signed the damn contract anyways and got fans hopes up...

And for aussies east-asia is their closest mainland, and the glitch heads are literally of asian decent ffs, so they should know the basics of how shit works there!

Digging a bit deeper into the lawsuit, here's how it all happened as I understand it:
  • SBM&E are a Korean distributor who are working with Glitch to get the Digital Circus movie show in Korean theaters
  • SBM&E signed a contract with Glitch, which includes the stipulation that they must provide them with the movie's Digital Cinema Package, or DCP.
    • DCP is a special format that is specially encrypted in such a way that only the original provider, in this case, Glitch, may decrypt it. DCP is considered the standard format for film distribution as it is considered the safest option.
  • Glitch attempted to terminate their contract with SBM&E for seemingly unknown reasons
  • Glitch's decision has caused SBM&E to have wasted both time and resources on advertisement and promotion during the time period when the contract was not yet terminated
  • Glitch cited security concerns over possible leaks as the reason why they are not showing the movie in certain countries. Claiming that one of the distributors they had worked with requested the raw video file.
    • Note, they did not name SBM&E directly.
  • SBM&E filed a provisional/preliminary injunction to the Seoul Central District Court against Glitch for failure in performance of supply.
    • In layman's terms, they're telling the courts that Glitch had agreed on providing them with a requested item (Digital Circus' DCP) and failed to do so.
  • If the courts approve of SBM&E's claim, then Glitch has two options
    • Provide the DCP as agreed upon
    • Continually pay for damages until the DCP is provided

Additionally, in order for a preliminary injunction to be approved, it needs to pass four tests
  • The applicant has suffered an irreparable injury due to the respondent:
    • As I said, SBM&E spent a lot of resources promoting the movie. Since Glitch terminated their contract, all those resources would have gone to waste. Additionally, SBM&E had made lots of promises to Korean audiences that they will distribute the movie. Promises that cannot be fulfilled thanks to Glitch, thus hurting SBM&E's reputation
  • If the applicant's claim is approved, the harm the respondent would face as a result of needing to comply to the applicant's request would NOT be as dire as the injury the applicant suffered:
    • If SBM&E's claim is approved, all Glitch would need to do is provide the DCP file as agreed upon. The risk of leaks is not only minimal, due to the DCP's format, but it's also been proven that Glitch is willing to take this risk with distributors from other countries, meaning that they wouldn't suffer that much from simply giving SBM&E the DCP file as requested.
  • Likelihood of the applicant's claim to hold up under scrutiny and be legally recognized:
    • We still haven't seen the contract ourselves, but if SBM&E's claim that providing the DCP was explicitly written on it is true, there is no doubt that Glitch would be in the wrong for breaking the contract's agreement
  • The applicant's claim will have no negative impact on public interests
    • Even setting aside the fact that Digital Circus being shown in Korea would actively be a good thing for Korean fans, at the end of the day, it's just a movie. Korea isn't going to catch on fire because of some stupid jester girl and her dumb circus show
Now mind you, I don't know if this is how it works in the Korean courts, but if all this is true, then the likelihood of SBM&E's claim being approved seems very high

And again, this is just how I understand it. I'm not a lawyer, so I could've missed something or gotten some things wrong.

I'm looking forward to the videos from animators after this shitshow ends talking about how abysmal the working conditions have been lately. glitch are such fucking retards man. They had it fucking made, they had full control over the release of the show, if they needed to delay they could have and probably spun it as a good thing for PR (guiz we care about our animators and don't want them to be too crunched guys!) but no, you had to be the greedy kikes and try to cash in even more with this cinema stunt and it has bit you on the arse big time.

it must be absolute fucking chaos at glitch right now. at this point i'm hoping the film gets leaked before the 4th of june and is slavered in jeet casino ads like every other movie leak/camrip. That would be pretty fitting i'd think.
 
I'm not the biggest fan of Digital Circus. I think it's fine. After the announcement of the finale to theaters, I was just going to do my best to avoid spoilers, and whether or not I liked the ending, I would at least have two weeks of this thread to come back to.

But holy shit. The build up to the theater release is going wrong in every which way. And there's still a month left to go. So much more could, and probably will, happen. The icing on the cake would be if the ending sucks and fans hated it, but at this point I don't care, good or bad, this is the most excited I've been for something in a long time.

Glitch only uses the “indie” label to excuse their shitty business practices and major flaws like these. They know they’re not indie, they’re just using it as an excuse to skirt legal contracts.

It’s like how most of the lolcows on this website use their disabilities as an excuse for their shitty behavior. Glitch Productions is a business lolcow.
 
I know this has probably been asked before, but how bad is gooseworx trannyism? The only things I know of him are the oneyplays collab where he seemed well adjusted, and slightly based from that little doodle of the black guy he did, is it all for show or does he actually just present as 'female' and keep a lid on it and not sperg out online?

You know Indie studios act the same like big studios. I heard that Vivziepop abused her animators. And besides, Disney kinda started as an indie studio when you think about it.

And Indie studios and big studios are both owned by kikes so what's the difference.
