And here I thought that the final episode of the show was done when it was announced it was going to be in theaters. Now learning that no, the episode is still not done, and that the people who are working on said episode are probably working 15 hours a day to get it done in time for the release...yeah, no one was prepared for this episode to be a theatrical thing. Glitch should have planned the release to happen at least during the winter season, if not next year. I wonder if we'll ever get the details for this production hell.

Very slimy of them to blindly pull the 'call your theatre!' shit after they saw Markiplier make 10x the movies budget in profit (on a film he worked for years on himself) from it, without actually being able to deliver on their promises. Especially when theyre hurting mainly kids and teens in the process since thats their main audience, as well as fellow small businesses.

The thing is that iron lung was basically "Markiplier is stuck inside a submarine for 2 hours" so it had a very small budget of 3 million.

Glitch doesn't really care about how or why Iron Lung worked, the only lesson they took was that a popular internet man made money so clearly any internet popular person can do it so why shouldn't WE do it? Why shouldn't we drop the final episode on paid cinema instead of youtube?

It doesn't matter how much it takes, if some youtuber can do it then we can. Just havet he fans market for you, have them force theaters to comply, as long you carry the flag of indie animation people will applaud you.

If i had to guess, they were on schedule for the original release but NOT for the faster theater release. Remember, whe the final episode was announced when episode 8 ended and there was no mention of theater release. It even had a compeltely different name: The Grand Finale.

The animators were aiming for that date. It was the same date as toy story 5 sure but that was the plan.

But then Glitch simply said "oh yeah, we releasing it on cinema earlier" and considering Goose's reaction, it does not seem like they were aware or at least prepared for that.

I do not believe Glitch planned this theater release from the start or else it would not be this messy and them deflecting it so much. A lot of stuff starts making more sense if you consider this was unplanned and they're rushing to finish the episode two weeks early while lying about the reasons along the way.

The fact only a few countries were announced wasn't intentional, it was because they only did that last minute and left fans to solve it. No one who plans a movie release says they're "doing our best to navigate around the clock".

The 2 week gap, the refusal of censorship, the refusal to give them for rating, etc. Maybe a few are true but knowing the episode isn't fucking finished, it starts reeking of half lies.

And this is all thankful to Goose herself, god bless. Without that tweet we would all assume the episode has been finished months ago, but announcing that not only it isn't finished but they're crunching it, we get a whole new picture here.

So why the hell is he reaching out to theaters before the “movie” was actually done? Why set a release date you clearly knew was unrealistic? If this was just a streaming release, they could’ve pushed it back, apologized for the delay, and moved on. Instead, they’re crunching themselves into the ground over something that’s releasing in early June, nearly a month away, and it still isn’t finished. That’s absurd. Stupid fucking tranny is all greed.
Cooper was sold a lie he had control over the creative process when the brothers who run the company are Thai immigrants who went to universities to get business and art degrees. They know fully well how to be cutthroat and this is exactly that. it also exemplifies that they also cannot think that far ahead and seemingly only came up with this now to get as much money as possible. Greedy cunts.

Also to get movies approved is always a tedious process. The ACB in Australia takes for fucking ever and the UK board is even longer. The brit's are notorious for sitting on their arses and being stingy with not releasing films due to the smallest of reasons at times. This also costs a fair amount of money and time. I would not be surprised if the DCP is not being provided to other companies in other countries I.e in Australia there are several chains of theatres who are under different owners. If the actual production for this shit is somehow not complete I can imagine the likes of event cinema's not being too pleased about waiting around for the DCP. Hell they stated they had some issues before with actually getting approved in Australia, so there is some likely fuckery going on behind the scene's.

It's real fucking hilarious to see Glitch scream to the heavens about how better they are than Disney, only for them to realize that in order to achieve their dream of "Make indie animation mainstream" they needed to stoop down to Disney's level. They kept preaching about how much they cared about artists and their vision, only to announce the movie behind Goose's back and sweatshop Goose and the Digital Circus team into getting the last episode done faster.

I imagine that Goose is going to be too soft to speak on the behind the scenes fiasco of this whole incident, but if they try to pull this stunt with Knights of Guinevere, God knows that as someone with personal experience with Disney and their bullshit, Dana isn't gonna stay quiet.

"Ohh were a poor little indie company giving freedom to creators and releasing these episodes online fully for free and accessible for all, please support us by buying our merch! Heres a massive merch ad released after every episode, and more merch marketing in the credits and on all our social media all the time! Yes were still gonna push our merch in the credits even after being aquired by streaming"

"Ohhh actually were actually gonna put the last episode and the ability to avoid spoilers behind a paywall for weeks, sowwy. Itll be 'good for indie animation' or whatever and also we saw markiplier make 10x his budget with his theatrical release for his indie movie. Yes we know that BFDI releases their episodes online 1 day after the theatre premiere and we dont care. Yes we know that the creator didnt even really want this theatre release and we dont care. Yes we know that the 'movie" will be inaccessible in a lot of countries, but hey, if you harass your local cinema for us with phonecalls maybe something can happen!"

"Ohhhh actually were a poor widdle multimillion indie company and all these mean foreign distributors are expecting us to honour contracts and comply with local laws and stuff, so instead were just gonna cancel the releases or even just ghost them. Sorry not sorry to all the fans whose hopes we got up for nothing by prematurely announcing a release in their country. Or all the fans from conservative countries who cant go to their woke online hugbox for comfort like usual to avoid spoilers. Or the distribution companies even smaller than us who we screwed over with our incompetence. Uhm, youre asking us why we started this massive expansion campaign calling for fans to badger cinemas before the movie is even fully rendered yet, and before we had even completed the distribution process for the intial limited US/latam/Japan run? UHM, WHY ARE YOU BULLYING A POOR LITTLE INDIE COMPANY ???"

Once this fiasco is finally over, I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a documentary about what happened behind the scenes.

The efforts online to hold Glitch to the standard of uwu widdle innocent indie animators that can do no wrong is hilarious when, ulitmately, they're only indie to avoid unionized workers.

It's easier to get your animators to work insane crunch hours when they're at-will employees. Their glassdoor reviews reveal shitty working conditions. These chink fucks that run Glitch are what's wrong with the animation industry and, frankly, I'm fucking tired of people sucking their shrimp dicks because they claim they're just a itty bitty indie company that can do no wrong. In reality, they're taking advantage of passionate people while hiding behind the label of 'indie' to shield themselves from criticism and allow them to abuse their employees.

Man this thread made me realize how shitty Glitch is. I bet those 2 fat chinks are jerking their tiny peckers to hentai right now while the animators are breaking their hands to finish the cash cow. The animation industry is rotted to the core.

I hope Glitch get hit with waves of lawsuits by the various distributors they’re fucking. You can’t ghost a legal contract you stupid speds.

They told a dyke to stop shoving gay shit into their cartoon and just make something that would actually sell.
Even when KoG is gonna be way less big than TADC, I can see the glitch execs listening to her better tho tbh even if her ideas are shit. She has bigger name recognition, industry connections in the non-indie sphere (like Alex Hirch), experience in the industry and in multiple different roles, a preexisting fanbase of autistic terminally online teenagers and yurifags and a history of going scorched earth.

Even with Gooseworx having some internet cred for being trans, no one really actually KNOWS him aside from his abstract avatar, shitposting tweets and like 1 photo max. Dana has industry friends and her name and face out there. Its a lot easier to whip someone into quiet submission when they are so insular.

If Dana was able to still get her show that far with Disney, no way she wouldn't be able to handle 2 random asian australians who cant even handle a basic contract.

I know top little about the animation business-does s.o know if there are unionized studios?

There is the Animation Guild IATSE Local 839, they represent workers at Disney, Dreamworks, and Netflix. Union work is an entertainment industry standard that can be dodged if a studio, despite all of its massive resources and government funding, chooses to identify as 'indie'.

They are THAI, not chink’s. They are the browner than horseshit version that speak in weird gobbledygook tongue, with their only redeeming qualities being combat sports and some parts of their cuisine. Calling them chink’s is a disservice to the average chinamen.

Now that you say it, the guys behind the Battle for Dream Island webseries, that had the superior non-greedy cinema releases with there only being 1 day gaps between cinema premiere and online release, are asian americans and actually of the chinese variety.

We saw what happened with Spindlehorse after they became unionized. If Glitch would be unionized, I bet they would have to "whip up into shape" so they could avoid getting a suit from the Animation guild.

I wanted to see the results of Glitch Productions' Glassdoor reviews, and, put simply, they're not great.

A couple of common factors you'll find in these reviews are that most of the artists working at the place are suffering from extreme crunch hours and constant strict deadlines, and if you want to take maternity leave, you'll have to fight for it.
Still, worse, it ultimately reveals how much of a massive control freak Kevin is.

He has insanely high expectations for the company, but, like always, they're unrealistic, leading to constant arguments with his employees, made worse by his constant micromanaging, which makes the working conditions at Glitch a living Hell.
If you fail to meet those expectations, he'll fire you.

So basically, Glitch Production really isn't that much different from the big corporations they claim to be against.
Even to the point of valuing "diversity" over everything else.

Luke and Kevin are half Thai, half Thai Chinese.

Holy shit this manages to be as bad or even worse than what ive seen from Spindlehorse. Literal poor feeble aussie animators getting slavewhipped by their capitalist dictator overlord Kevin.

And Disney has its faults, but as far as ive seen they at least still pay overtime and maternity and stuff, tf. If they didnt I feel like I wouldve heard something about it when Dana went scorched earth.

Also googled it and it seems in Australia unpaid overtime is only allowed to a 'reasonable' and non-harmful degree, so theyd probably have grounds to sue if they werent broke art school graduates.
