I enjoyed the episode on the basis of "something finally happened." I saw it getting a lot of flack for bad pacing but, honestly that gun episode was wayyyy fucking worse in that regard.
 
Ragatha's va is insisting on more art of ragatha in a golden whatever that is, expect to see smut artists on xitter, bsky, and newgrounds go bananas and draw more smut art.

I wasn’t even thinking about the mundanity of it, but about how the trauma doesn’t hit at all. That said, you’re right. A lot of this is just shit most people have faced.

“I’m le heckin traumatized because I failed out of art school.” Tell that to all the people whose lives were irrevocably changed after getting kicked out for not taking the vaccine.

“I get anxious and freak out a lot.” Try working in a front facing job.

“People laughed at me.” As if most of the show’s fans, and most of this forum, aren’t on the spectrum.

“I don’t feel like I belong in my own body.”

Hell, Kinger is the only one (so far) with a legitimate claim to being traumatized, and we don’t see it explored much because he’s insane for most of the show.

Good. Our options are a chess piece, a rabbit man, a bobblehead jester, a weird trans allegory, and a sad ribbon. I'm not going to complain about the one character who actually looks like a woman getting attention.

To be fair to AM he's a cold war computer god written with 60s tech in mind; I don't think it's actually implied that he was distracted so much as that he couldn't react to that snap decision in time.

And to give Caine the same credit, it's totally possible that their model for whatever he was intended to be included selective attention as part of the design. That's a reasonable human limitation to impose (or require?) if you're trying to build a human-like intelligence and not an omnipotent circus warden.
The show's been fairly consistent with that, I think. The fact that the characters thought they could take shifts distracting him implies that they were fairly sure it's true.

He did snatch Pomni mid-diss, but that could easily be a flubbed attempt at a comedic coincidence since he was doing the same thing to everyone. It wouldn't be the first time this show has overlooked how mis-timing some gag could confuse something important.

To be fair, having social anxiety, feeling the need to push away others, and feeling like you have to be Mr. Perfect all of the time are real problems. If anything, the message of the show is that you can deal with problems through friendship and talking with others. You can't actually talk/friendship your way out of actual schizophrenia and a manic disorder.

Those from dead or inactive authors whose work filters out the fandom spergs, either through content or obscurity. Lovecraft is the exception, since fandomites love pretending to like his work, but you never see politispergs and shipping drama around discussions of Dick Tracy, Conan the Barbarian, Dragonlance, or the Zothique stories.
 
Man, that new episode sure was something, wasn't it?

My favorite characters are Ragatha, Kinger, and Gangle. I know Kinger's VA has a lolcow thread, but he's also the English voice of Best Matsu, and he does a great job with his role here, so I'm cool with him.

I would hesitate from calling that a fandom, its closer to history preservation.

People forget that omnipotence isn't the same as omniscience or omnipresence, and Caine isn't even omnipotent in the setting, or else he could undo abstraction, make the characters actually enjoy his adventures, etc.
 
People have pointed out that the initial trailer and the scene where Pomni gets teleported to Caine sync up.

I've intentionally made it a point to never search up the show or obsess over any kind of fan-theories because I knew from the beginning that this fanbase would become a biohazard. I'm not even subscribed to GLITCH, I just wait for the YouTube algorithm to inevitably recommend the latest video to me when it comes out and avoid reading the comments.
