It's a shame. Zweihander despite the overtly complex system, is interesting and does something a bit different than the usual low fantasy grimdark. It is, however, not as good as Burning Wheel.
Just play Warhammer Fantasy rpg 2nd Edition, it's just a clone of it. Even his kickstarter for a new supplement for the game is a clone of the Chaos stuff. Daniel doesn't have an original thought when it comes to tabletop gaming.
So some good news on the RPG meetup front. City has a new meetup owner so the SJW that wanted to ruin the hobby for others seems to be gone. I was getting tired of her complaints about the group and how she's constantly being "almost raped" at games.
Anyone here played GURPS 3e recently? I've been setting up a game recently for a few newer Tabletop players based around a fantasy world I've been working on for like six... years, but I have to know does anyone else think GURPS 3e is a good starting point for team of an edgyboy, that guy who always wants to make explosives and gets pissy if you want him to make skill checks on bomb making or ask why his character would know anything about IEDs (this guy wanted to make a rail gun in a fucking high fantasy setting), and the quite player whos sensible?
For the love of God guys please don't fuck this up like about you do with half the shit you write, the hunger mechanic looks like it could become a total deadweight after a few months of play especially if every power uses it and Beast-the nonce rationalizing is still fresh in my memory.

Modiphius Entertainment is writing it. I could see the hunger mechanic being ditched by a good chunk of players as they adapt the old rules into the new game.
So far Modiphius has brought out some great content so I have faith in their work.Their Conan game is probably one of the best I've checked out and their Star Trek game is easy to get into.
I've been getting back into Ravenloft again. Last night, I was re-reading the book from the "Realm of Terror" boxed set for AD&D 2E (AKA "The Black Box") and I forgot how much I love Ravenloft.
Ravenloft is the only officially published setting I will DM. Still haven't got Curse of Strahd yet, but I intend to.

I've DMed it and while it definately is not for a rookie DM to run (I learned that the hard way). Thankfully, after some DMing experience I was able to try again and even finished the campaign. I enjoyed what White Wolf did with the Ravenloft license and it's a shame they couldn't continue the work they were doing.

whey, remember my boy scouts adventure thing? Well, a 1st meeting for it is going to happen this wednesday as a sort of intro to the scouts participating. I'll be very busy tomorrow with getting the last of the fan created content I had for the campaign ready by tomorrow night but I'll be sure to share the plan I have for showing my group what they'll be up against this sunday or the day after, getting things all set up

I just picked up their Star Trek game last week. After some initial reservations I'm starting to warm to it. I also think that I'll be able to easily swap in the FASA starship tactical combat simulator system, still the best ship combat system by a country mile.

I ran 5th Editon Curse of Strahd and I gotta say I don't usually run predone campaigns but this one was really really good. And there's a lot of nice pick and choose options for quests and locations. My players didn't see almost half the map which is fairly interesting and got sucked up doing a bunch of other things which gives the game some nice replayability and variance.
Although saying that, if I were to run it again I would not do the Vestani reading at the beginning for them - I would keep it a secret and add in NPCs who give clues to where each relic is. I feel the cards gave too much away and were way too easy so the players pretty much figured where they needed to go and didn't get a chance to explore or investigate.
I also added in a small quest that set up their characters before starting Curse of Strahd that led into them heading into the mists of Ravenloft so when I pulled out the Curse of Strahd book for maximum effect, the players all went 'Ohhhh shit'.

I loved running CoS too. As you say, there was a lot of stuff they never even got to - it was so jam packed.
I still can't bring myself to do the "you step into a mist and you're magically transported into another realm" thing. It just seems so gay. I set it in a very, very remote area where they had a task to do and where real help was a month away.
so about those two things I mentioned? Well here's the description of both
One of them is a set of class archetypes for other classes and multiple 3.5 e classes that other people can use set up in their 1st draft form with more edits coming to flesh them out. The other is a vast set of sorcerer bloodlines along with wild blood mutations for new and old bloodlines. I still have some work to do to flesh them out on the google doc I have but I already got some helpers selected for that coming tomorrow. If anyone is interested in hearing some more details about the classes, I'll provide some details though designwise, they are far from all finished.
edit: Just got finished with the 1st big item on the list the sorcerer bloodlines and wild blood mutations with only the classes left as the remaining item on the list with the psychic disciplines, class archetypes and weapon fighting style feats already done. I'll be having a gaming person from scouts taking a look over it as time goes on for edits and feedback with the classes getting finished this week on wednesday at best and at worst, getting finished off on thursday and friday. Also, here's the finalized times I have for scout meetings related to this
introductory meeting: next week on wednesday the 11th due to the fourth of july
1st merit badge session: august the 28th when summer ends in scouting and school starts up for the scouts.
As a final note, if anyone is curious about using the currently completed materials I have such as the class archetypes, the fighting style feats or the sorcerer bloodlines or mutations, dm me and I'll see what works best for you and your campaign needs
Does anyone remember notorious man hater and SJW Jessica Price of Paizo? She was fairly well disliked amongst RPers and for good reason (because she's a giant raging cunt who thinks her shit doesn't stink) but she left Pazio to peruse other opportunities (AKA maybe quietly fired because she comes across as aggressive and unpleasant).
Well, she joined AreaNet writing for Guild Wars 2 narrative last yearish and only today just got fired for being a misandrist asshole to a respectful content creator on Twitter.
This kinda feels like karma for all the shit she tried to do to Drive Thru RPG.
