I understand keeping the players in mind when DMing and not being an asshole (in a bad way), but
they just can't be too cautious of killing off a character or dicking around. Maybe it's just me, but I've never gotten so attached to a character that it made me want to quit or fall into despair. I might be bummed for a bit if I really liked them, but it's something else if you treat it like a horrible trauma (besides, sometimes horrible deaths can be fun).

destructive myths, it's bad if the PCs are treated like the great influential stars of the game, because it supports the savior complex; there's not enough of a past or relationships for the PCs, focusing on the exploration factor when you're not thinking of the natives, experiencing adversary is a positive thing and violence being a problem solver.
