According to what people have seen, Robin's Final Smash, and a Mii Swordfighter costume, is still Chrom. Who's a playable character.
If we can have three Chroms we can have 2 of an assist. What if we got Older Isaac?

Final Smashes and Mii costumes are different from assist trophies and have never had the same stipulation. In the same vein, we have no idea whether being confirmed as a spirit will affect whether or not a fighter will become a playable fighter, though, since Daisy is a spirit and assist trophies can be spirits, I'm going to say that it doesn't.
 
People are pretty upset that their favorite characters didn't make the cut, but there is one that is a true tragedy:

On one hand, I know he'd never say that. But on the other hand he has outright said "Have you ever made a game?" because someone thought "oh yeah i wanna be a tester mr sakurai can i be one" as if it was some easy thing to do.
 
It seems to be a pretty common misconception that game testers are specially selected members of the ideal target audience who play a finished game (or close to it) and then give their opinion on it. Nobody's ever bothered to correct it because it's not a subject that comes up often.
 
Here's who I wanted in smash, obviously only two had the slightest chance of getting in, being Travis To and Jeanne

Nah, if someone just asked Sakurai "I like Smash pls I test" I imagine he'd just politely say "nah". It was some tournament player who challenged Sakurai to a 1v1 under the condition that if he'd win he'd get to balance the roster.

No More Heroes 3 comes out in January, as an exclusive IIRC, so I'd say Travis is probably the best guess for a DLC character.

We've had one game with DLC, so I wouldn't treat assist trophies as such a taboo. Both Waluigi and Skull Kid are on the table IMO, but I'd say more third parties are the most likely.

I really have no skin left in the game though, since Sonic and Snake opened the door to third party characters my two biggest hopes were MegaMan and Simon Belmont. There aren't many characters left they could adapt (Mike from Startropics, and Alex Roivas from Eternal Darkness are all I could think of and would be worse than Issac), and third party wise I can't think of anyone I'd care about. I skipped the PlayStation so Crash and Spyro mean nothing to me. The closest would probably a Final Fantasy 1-6 character, but I don't have strong feelings on any one, maybe Kefka, Mog, or a weird Pokemon Trainer/Omar/Ice Climber take on the Four Warriors of Light.
 
I hope the adventure mode stacks up well to Subspace Emissary.

By that, I mean, I enjoyed playing through it, and loved seeing all the different Characters coexist and interact to solve problems.

Seeing Meta Knight go and save Lucas and Pokémon Trainers without any kind of second thought was incredible because I thought Meta Knight was a Bad guy.

I hope there will be good prominence of Palutena, because I am crazy for Green haired chicks.

A little bit of trivia for you Kiwis: Of all the minor universes in the Smash Universe (see this list: https://www.ssbwiki.com/List_of_minor_universes), these are the universes that are getting representation for the first time, usually in the form of a Spirit:

- ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat
- Battle Clash
- Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
- Disaster: Day of Crisis
- Eternal Darkness (notable for being Nintendo's first published M Rated game and Ultimate being the first time Nintendo has acknowledged this game's existence in years)
- Ever Oasis
- Feed Mii
- Getsu Fuma Den (a Konami Franchise)
- Kiki Trick
- Kurikin Nano Island Story
- Mole Mania
- Ninja Launcher
- Nintendo Labo
- Shantae
- Snipperclips
- Teleroboxer (one of the weirder additions, as this game was only released for the freaking Virtual Boy)
- The Tower
- Tomato Adventure
- Ultimate Angler
- Volleyball

The Secondary Universes (those that have contributed an assist trophy, stage, enemy, or item to the series) that are getting representation in Smash Bros. for the first time are:

- Arms
- Bomberman
- Monster Hunter
- Nintendo Badge Arcade
- Shovel Knight
- Swapnote

A number of minor Universes from past games have yet to have any confirmed representation in Ultimate, even with spirits, and this is a long list: 1080°, After Burner (a Sega Franchise), AR Games, bit Generations, BIT.TRIP (notably the first indie game with Smash Representation), Chōsōjū Mecha MG, Cubivore, Detective Club, Doshin the Giant, English Training, Flower Town, Fluidity, Freakyforms, HarmoKnight, Ice Hockey, Magical Vacation (also known as Magical Starsign), Mii Force, NES Remix, Nintendo Land, Nintendouji, Pandora's Tower, Rayman, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, Sakura Samurai, Sennen Kazoku, Slide Adventure MAGKID, Soccer, Thru, Trace Memory (also known as Another Code), Warrior's Way, Wave Race, Wii Play, X, and Zangeki no Reginleiv.

Of the Secondary universes, only Clu Clu Land, Dig Dug, Drill Dozer, Excite, GoldenEye, Kururin, Nintendo Wars, Perfect Dark, Steel Diver, and Xevious (a Namco series) currently have no known representation in Smash Ultimate.

I would love to play as Augustus Pious in Smash but this isn't too bad.
