Recent event with the Smash community, two actually involving many things, both Sakurai and Harada, along with character requests and going against the wishes of devs.
Yesterday a Hashtag was trending on twitter at more than 15k people tweeting #Sora4Smash, seems it was started up by twitter use HMKilla, who did basically what Sakurai asked fans to not do, @ him:

He proceeds to add to his thread that there was no harm in tagging Sakurai, but HMKilla is definitely not aware that anyone who replies to the thread will tag Sakurai unless they untag him:

HMKilla respond to a response from Harada, which he thought was about the Sora trend:
HMKilla still thinking his @ is the only one that goes to Sakurai's notifications itself:

But Harada's response was actually to this thread he got tagged in a number of times:

This thread proceeded to get a number of "For Smash" accounts blocked by Harada despite them never @ing him once, it was just Nick who clearly didn't know what Harada is like.

“YO WE GOT #Sora4Smash TRENDING! Hear that @Disney @NintendoAmerica @SquareEnix @Sora_Sakurai!”
HMK on Twitter
“@Disney @NintendoAmerica @SquareEnix @Sora_Sakurai To Everyone saying that I shouldn't have tagged Sakurai, this is merely to bring awareness and what he actually stated is not to blow up his REPLIES. There is nothing wrong with showing the excitement of fans for a character's potential.”

“A lot of people have @ samurai before me and will after me. We were told not to blow up his replies on tweets that went focused on the topic he is tweeting about https://t.co/jBudekiSde”

“You guys are a spammer. I talk with Mr.Sakurai & BandaiNamco's Smash development team so that your request will NOT be approved as much as possible. And *Muted* bye. @Alberto72892547 @JonesyForSmash @SoraForSmash @DoomSquidKid @PutCrashInSmash @ArleForSmash @HaloGuyForSmash”
Katsuhiro Harada on Twitter
“If you are still relentlessly spamming, that just means hampering the work of @Sora_Sakurai and Bandai Namco's Smash development team. Just One Tweet is enough for request. DO NOT SPAMMING to us. Developers don't negotiate with Spammer and terrorists. https://t.co/zbaoIqyViW”
