Nintendo loathes anything western or indie, and even in this case they finally included a character from a game straight down Nintendo's alley that became a phenomenon years ago. Other than Shovel Knight and Isaac they've barely recognized the greats of indie gaming.

I bet Sakurai was being pressured into this and finally went "fucking whatever, make a bunch of barely-characters reskins".

It was nice of them to let Toby Fox use instruments from EarthBound and other games of theirs without suing him.

It's probably because most of the synths are already stolen from Yamaha/Roland/Korg/whoever else makes synths. Plus Earthbound already steals tons of samples from popular culture

Honestly if I was Sakurai at this point, I'd just intentionally fuck with them since it's clear that they'll cry out of entitled and autistic rage no matter what. Even when he made sure they can be no fun losers who LARP at playing fighting games they reject most of it so fuck 'em.

If adding actual fighting game chars make 'em chimp, then I say go on.

Heihachi would be cool for the fifth slot. He was a Mii costume in 4 so he has a chance.

Not to mention that KOF and SNK fighters in general are hot shit in Latin America and a few other places outside of the US. So really Terry being in smash is a BIG DEAL to a lot of people and the salt mine is just being about as entitled as possible about it because they can't just go look him up.

This is the "I have a vagina!!" dude who also wrote an article complaining that a Persona song recently added to Smash had "retarded" in the lyrics, when it didn't and it was actually saying "retort it." That mistake is especially moronic considering the song had existed for years and they only started stamping their feet over a misheard lyric because they weren't exposed to it until the Persona DLC for Smash came out.

Laura should really not make articles on Smash. The last one I remember she made was about Persona 5's lyrics having the words "let's go. let's play. r.etarded". At the end, it resulted in a lot of black lash to Laura because it came off as really racist since the singer was Japanese.

Of course, Steveposters are seizing the opportunity to say that they're not to blame for the raid. Which of course they aren't, it's clearly a /v/ meme and even then people who genuinely wanted Steve in Smash wouldn't associate the character with gore pictures. But since they're generally not very smart, they feel that they need to clarify this.

It's been a while since we've seen some Smash salt. Let's see how Nyx The Shield is doing.

He apparently was upset than Sans got in as a Mii costume for Ultimate. Since he clearly enjoys Undertale (having countless remixes of the game's music on his channel), he most likely sees it as tainted now that it got some form of representation in a game he hates.

Later, after giving a broad, generalized statement, somebody asks him to specify. Rather than do so, he just restates the point he's trying to make, then makes an even broader generalization. Apparently, despite there being countless games he supposedly thinks are braindead, he can't name a single one.

He also then attacks somebody for making the (correct) observation that games are products first and foremost, and appeal to general audiences before competitive ones.

He then blames the Smash community for dropping a fan made mod, even though the sponsors are to blame because--imagine this for a moment--Nintendo doesn't make money off of a free product they don't own, and weren't happy that people were making money using their own properties.

Hilariously, Nyx's followers blamed "casuals" for Project M being dropped. You know, all those casual...competitive Smash players in tourneys.

Still thirsty for Project M, Nyx has briefly abandoned trying to mod Smash Ultimate in favor of modding Rivals of Aether, another Smash clone, to be more like Project M instead (possibly due to it being even easier to code for).

Despite basically despising the Ultimate community, Nyx continues to follow any developments in its scene specifically to complain about it.

Needless to say, with how often Nyx complains about Smash, it's not surprise that he regularly complains about anything.

Of course, what's salt without pointless political drama. In this instance, he decided to show his stance on the Zoe Quinn situation by agreeing with a person who basically called Quinn's ex a coward for killing himself after she accused him of rape and ruined his career. Of course, you're an idiot if you think you can't believe an accusation without proof.

He also really, really hates cops, to the point where he apparently can't enjoy the Detective Pikachu movie because it carriers the implication that a fictional fluffy yellow furball assists officers.

Finally, what's political drama without personal drama. Since most of his videos are just Undertale music, he thought he'd branch out and try remixes of other games. Not realizing that people aren't interested in your other content when you specialize in a specific video type, he instead chooses to blame his viewers for not watching content they don't want to watch.
