Sigh, they could have saved rendering time on the underpowered Switch hardware by not giving her underwear at all. As is they have to render her whole private area and the layer underwear on top of it. Nintendo truly does not care about performance.
 
I'm down to play it but dislike the elephant power up. I don't like power ups that affect the dimensions of the character that much, making your visual ability to see where you can fit more difficult. I would've went full nostalgiafag and let you get FLUDD. You would still the water mechanic and you can use it to hover.

And yes, I know about all the wacky stuff like spikeball, but those moments are tailor made to that form.

I never even thought of adding Fludd to a 2D Mario game, that sound really damn fun actually.
 
im excited for it. im a bigger fan of the course-clearing type of games over the collectathons. nintendo hit a grand slam with Mario 3D world, hoping this continues that momentum

i feel this way about most new 2d marios, EXCEPT 3d world (which has 3d in the title, but realy is a 2d platformer at its core)

i remember a lot of levels from that game.
 
Played it for a couple hours so far. Game is great. The new level themes are fun and it's constantly throwing new shit at you so you don't get bored. It doesn't play radically different from the new super mario bros games though, so if you weren't a fan of those you might not like this one.
 
Tropical Freeze is one of the best platformers of all time. I wouldn't say this is on the same level, but it is a huge step up from new super mario bros.
