My guess is that the past two New Super Mario games didn't do as well and nintendo wanted to drop the brand.so, why did they drop the "new" on it? i assume it's because of how different the game looks
The Wii U New Super Mario game was still in that corporate era where Miyamoto was playing it "safe", hence why it's lame and DK Tropic Feeze is good.I'm kind of ehh about how it looks and gameplay. After how amazing DK Tropic Freeze was compared to the New Super Mario Bros games on the Wii U I don't know if Nintendo even had it even them any more. The quality difference between just blew me away.
It's for little kidsAt this point I don't get who still likes these games since IMO the "NEW" series doesn't even hold a candle to the classic NES/SNES games.
Barely any of the stuff on this game was on the movie, Daisy and Yoshi included. It's literally for little kids who just saw the movie.
Someone a bazillion years ago told me that the New SMB games were made by junior developers. I guess that's why they're all so bland and forgettable. I really can't remember any specific levels from any of them. The Wii U New Super Mario game was still in that corporate era where Miyamoto was playing it "safe", hence why it's lame and DK Tropic Feeze is good.
This COULD be better than those other games in the "NEW" series considering it's on the switch and the mario titles that have been on it (so far) have been really steller (Galaxy and Mansion 3 in particular), but I'm not holding my breath. Even 3D Land on the 3DS was better than those games. At this point I don't get who still likes these games since IMO the "NEW" series doesn't even hold a candle to the classic NES/SNES games.
And? It's still meant for newcomers (i.e kids who are introduced to Mario from the movie) to the series.Barely any of the stuff on this game was on the movie, Daisy and Yoshi included.
I'm wondering who the fuck would pay for a cameo from Arlo...What do you think?
For marketing purposes, considering what was shown on the movie, Nintendo would be pushing more the spinoffs, like Mario Kart/Party, on the forefront rather than the mainline games imo. And? It's still meant for newcomers (i.e kids who are introduced to Mario from the movie) to the series.
I mean, they are pushing Mario Kart still and just released a new Mario Party like a year and a half ago, but okay...For marketing purposes, considering what was shown on the movie, Nintendo would be pushing more the spinoffs, like Mario Kart/Party, on the forefront rather than the mainline games imo.
