Apparently the person on the left in that picture is the runner for Sonic Mania. Believe it or not, they're the current world record holder for the category being run.
 
As much as the odd dressing habits of the person skeeves me out, they aren’t causing drama or throwing a fit and demanding special treatment.
So overall they have more positives than negatives for now.
 
Anyone else not enthused about the games they're playing this year? I went through the list and I was disappointed. There are only a few games I would like to watch them speedrun, way fewer than last year.

Yeah there's a lot of games on there that are pretty "meh" in my book, plus it doesn't help that GDQ has also dropped a lot of the historically popular games/runs from previous events. I can count on one hand the runs that I am actually excited about this year, otherwise AGDQ is just background noise while I do other stuff.

They even got rid of killing or saving the animals, which has been a tradition of AGDQ for years.

I have a theory that the cringe comment about the shuttle bus during the run last year scared them away from it.
 
According to the donation stats page, it's sort of maintained a $15k deficit vs. last year all of today. Interesting. Also last year had a severely spiky donation history - I'm *guessing* that's stuff like the Yetee/Chrono kickback dumps, but the donation tracker list is crappy enough to navigate that I can't confirm. So maybe they're catching up, or maybe not, but we're running out of directly comparable stuff due to a huge 10+k bump in last year's data monday evening. Long story short, trying to tealeaf this stuff is harder than I thought. See when we get a lot more baseline. That pattern change I mentioned is interesting, though. Something's changed.

Also fairly meh on the lineup. I'm into the PC block always, so maybe tomorrow night.
 
Tyler1, a League of Legends streamer who just got unbanned after two years, has three times more viewers than AGDQ. Amazing.
