The runner is trans, I recall this person from yesterday. On the stream, it originally had their full name of ClarisRobyn or whatever (that is the name of their twitter), but it was later changed to just Claris. I just checked their twitter and it's set to private so I wonder if there were people shitting up their twitter.

Was watching the Metroid run just now. So is it a full troon squad or is the spinal injury guy an actual dirty cissie?
Playing "guess which comment gets deleted" kept me entertained for a nice 20 minutes. Eventually they started deleting things like people asking which pronouns they should use (lol, mod must have been sweating bullets trying to spot the transphobes as fast as humanly possible). They also started banning comments with the word "miles" in it, which I presume is the runner's birth name. Good job deadnaming the tranny you assholes, delete yourselves, AGDQ.
(I thought it was a woman->man at first because uhh... at least Russian babushka from earlier had a skirt. This one passes like Danielle Muscato.)

And that's where it sits now. The Yetee finally did a bunch of $10k dumps this morning (I guess that's the maximum the donation tracker can handle), which is an unusual *amount* but not an unusual occurrence in these things. Still, down 40k.
Next milestone, I think, will be $500k, which happened neatly around Wednesday noon last year. Sorry if I'm annoying with all the analysissperging, but this is possibly the only place I can discuss the data without pro- and anti-GDQ factions going at each other's throats about it.
On that note, another subject I've been curious about: Does anyone know the actual story behind PCF and their relationship to Uyama and GDQ? Everything I've been able to find has been badly sourced and quickly turns into ludricrous claims and spamming.

edit: Each succeding day has had fewer viewers so far this year, but I think that is probably normal. I'm guessing a lot of the views are just background-noise or bots because only a third of the viewership goes away at night when most of the audience would supposedly be sleeping.

According to a thread over at /r/speedrun, the entire couch was trans. So there you have it, Kirbymastah was the only person apparently providing quality commentary on the game and he wasn't permitted to sit on the couch or even be on camera. And he was the one talking the most. It's mentioned in that thread, but supposedly "the couch" is chosen by the runner, so rather than fill it with people who knew about the game, the runner elected to just stuff it with forced diversity.
(Also there's a special bonus in that thread, popular runner CarlSagan42 chimping out with all sorts of passive-aggressive remarks that have been downvoted into being automatically hidden. How the mighty fall.)

And to be fair to GDQ, they have some pretty damn cool prizes this time around, including rare official stuff and "pricey" things like consoles and PC parts. Last SGDQ's cavalcade of perlers was embarrassing, most of them weren't even worth the price of postage.

I just watched the Dynamite Headdy run VOD a couple of hours ago. I had no idea that one of the couch commentators was trans, they both sounded like men. They aren't even fucking trying.
