Hey now I am an anime, but Kojima is a hack and the only metal gear that said anything deep was Revengence
Revengeance was the best game of its generation.

It's amazing the cultural lasting power MGR has even today despite not being a massive commercial hit. A lot of the dialogue and cutscenes are corny (still cool as fuck) and the music is dubstepish butt-rock with catchy melodies (still cool as fuck) and my enjoyment of the game is hurt by neither. We really got such bangers as pre-Trump Make America Great Again and "The good old days after 9/11". And yes, I would unironically vote for Armstrong and Red Sun is one of the coolest songs on the soundtrack. Sundowner is such a fun character. Every song honestly works so well with their respective bosses. Music by the same guy who composed the music for Toontown Online by the way.
13 years, huh. I feel myself turning to fucking dust.

PlatinumGames has far more hits than misses and have a reputation of putting out games with a good core gameplay experience on a shoestring budget. Vanquish, Bayonetta, MGR, MadWorld, Anarchy Reigns, hell, I'd even put Ninja Gaiden 4 on the list (good action game, kinda eh Ninja Gaiden game). Instead of all of these companies shoving money into a furnace to bake shit nobody asked for, someone should have given PlatinumGames an actual decent budget for the MGR:R sequel that the original teased at with the ending.

Corny isn't bad when it is unapologetic. Being proud of being a corny game actually helps. Apologizing for it makes the corniness worse. MGR is Victorius level corny and that brings its humanity out. However, nowadays fun is "problematic". Everything needs to push messages. I got more out of a speech on memes than anyone would get from a Cuban/Pride flag.

It makes mee unreasonably irritated they just name the izakaya's Izakaya. Just plop some random kanji up there at least. Can't believe SBI hired asian cultural consultants for this shit.
Their only "Asian Cultural Consultant" is a Sweet Baby Inc. troon from LA, who literally stole his name from a borderline BL/Yaoi anime character. This also seems to be his debut job he only got due to spreading the lie that Japan loved the game & the West is only one chudding out, until an actual Japanese YouTuber debunked this lie.

Edit: My bad, not a troon, but a pooner. Here's her raising $20k for her zipper-tits surgery on GFM.

SBI's last Asian Cultural Consultant was a gender studies professor foid hag, & more importantly famous for being a certified BL/yaoi shotacon hentai specialist, & most importantly, middle-named (((Schmidt))), who worked on Assassin's Creed Shadows, & we all know how that went.
Insomniac are apparently gonna start working on a AAAA fighting game now.

Oh goodie, another dead studio known for their failures. Seriously, don't bother with Netherrealm post-MKX.

Sadly all the Platinum games you mentioned are like 10+ years old. Modern Platinum might as well change their name to Pyrite, but MadWorld and Vanquish I both loved. Platinum was on a tear in the late 2000s/early 2010s, always putting out great games which were dreadfully short, always leaving you wanting more. Then they slowly descended to making Korra, Ninja Turtles, and cellphone games, being passed around from nintendo to sony to microsoft, not a good look, and likely chasing shekels since the majority of their games likely didn't sell as well as you'd expect. While they were releasing Astral Chain, old daddy Capcom was releasing RE2make and DMCV. The sales differences are staggering.

Speaking of Revengeance's cultural relevance, how bout that Khamsin theme?
They're really trying to get that hot wind blowing over the middle east again ain't they? Doesn't Iran know that freedom is calling?.... to all men that bend their will....

Ahh yes, we call that the "Yasuke telephone game". One limey jew writing fanfiction stories about a fictional niggerai saving Japan, all while telling his Japanese sources he was doing something else, all while self-editing his own wiki pages on the dindurai in question - completely contrary to what the Japanese themselves say. You cannot hate these communists enough, a Yamaguchi stomach stabbing for all of them.

A different jew, but a jew nonetheless.

TIL disapproving of pedophilia is a 'normative moral standard.'

That said, while journo Kazuma Hashitroono was on it and explains the ass Tokyo section and why ancient style statues had kana on them instead of kanji, Alvin Pang also is in the Wolverine credits under SBI, presumably because of the Madripoor section. He's an author and adjunct professor at RMIT, which already makes him the most qualified of any SBI contractor I've seen. Not sure what in the game needed cultural sensitivity other than the ugly gook townspeople designs (not even sure any of them have chatter), so I assume it was mostly a pay him to put his name diversity checkbox thing.

Oh god fucking dammit I was kidding when I predicted a future MK game where blood, fatalities and giggle physics were paid DLCs. Is it just not safe at all to joke about such stupid shit anymore lest the related industry overhear it and actually say "oh hey that's not a bad idea let's do that"?

I was gonna correct "giggle physics" to say "jiggle physics" as intended, but I've decided not to because it somehow still works anyway (and it makes me giggle (sorry)).

I cant wait to see the animations and if you thought the women in Wolverine were manly wait till you get the NRS touch.

It's also amazing how when it released people claimed it sucked because they didn't bother learning how to play it and now we get AAA games like Wolverine that completely remove player agency and complete levels for you.

The memes are top notch, though.
For anyone who wants MOAR:

Gentleman, it is with immense pleasure to announce that PlayStation has more controllers than exclusives.
24602.jpg
This is excluding a lot of controllers that came out since.
24605.jpg
Meanwhile, Xbox has more controllers than employees.
24601.jpg

Speaking of controllers, for some weird reason, Lisa from K-POP group Blackpink just got her own controller.
24603.jpg
Now if only we get a controller based on the Brazilian Lizzo, MC Carol.

I used fired because "went their separate ways" is too long.
Except you are clearly very confused about the difference between losing your job and losing a contract and think it matters for "fairness." If we're talking about fairness, then we have to talk about what would make the situations fair. Not that fairness matters, but I'm humoring you. Fair would be if Sony owned Kojima Productions.

Accountability or not, this is the state Sony promised. If Sony didn't make it clear from the start that extra money come with more control, then they are at fault too.
They did not promise anybody free money. Sony's execs are pretty stupid, but I doubt they're that stupid. Looks to me like Kojima didn't fulfill the terms of his contract. He wanted more money and, knowing how those kinds of requests go, asking for more money was met with more demands from Sony, and he didn't like those demands, so the relationship ended most likely according to the terms of the contract.

If he thinks Sony promised to give him as much money as he wanted with no conditions, he can sue, but I'm guessing that's not what happened.

Problem is that what Sony has to look forward to is a bunch of flopping turds.
Yeah, like Death Stranding 2, which lost twice as much money as MGS4 cost to make.

If they gave him money for HIS own IP and changed their mind, then they are partially at fault.
Oh, you're absolutely right here. Giving Kojima money with no control was indeed a bad business decision, and Sony's fault for making that decision. They've corrected course and stopped giving him money - first good decision they've made since moving the USB port from the bottom of the controller to the middle.
