Oh, I get it! The disc place is closed, which is supposed to be funny given that Sony is foregoing physical media for PlayStation moving forward.

Yes you are absolutely ignoring reality. Long dev times and huge investments make it difficult for studios to pivot following trends, including not hiring SBI. Even if management shifted and decided that working with SBI was dumb, there's literally nothing that could be done about it simply due to how the passage of time works. Companies and the executives that run them are just as susceptible to the sunk cost fallacy as individual gambling addicts at a casino. There is a point when it comes to these projects, where instead of cancelling it they'd rather just get it out the door if viable(minimum viable product) and hope it can recoup something rather than being a complete loss.I am not ignoring the reality. I point out how retarded it is. This lemmings' jump where everyone is spending too much time and money on stuff without doing anything customers want, purely because everyone else is doing it too, has been the norm but what of it? At any point last year they could have at least fixed the models to make them not look like ass but they didn't do it. At any point, they could have done what Sega did and fix the models.
And what is that about time anyway? What were they doing for five years? They spend years and millions on making sure you could count the nose hair on every character and eliminated everything that could be mistaken for challenging or fun. Will spend years to ensure every pride flag is shoved in the customers' face but they miss something as obvious as what the Puerto Rico flag looks like.
Yeah, don't give me the "dev times are long now" crap. They are long and nothing of substance is being done anyway. They could have been less long if Sony/MS/Whoever stopped caring about melting the machine the game is being played on. Sony and MS are the main drivers of this kind of dev time and budget. Indies and Nintendo do better for less.
First, you're changing shit again because you have no argument. That is literally what you said. Second, Kojima wasn't under Sony's payroll. He had a budget to produce a game with Sony publishing it. What next? "that's not what I meant by payroll" words have meaning, use them correctly.Didn't say "created Kojima". I said created the entitlement in devs that have worked under Sony's payroll.
It's true -- some (gracefully small) segment of the population enjoys swimming in raw sewage too.Well somebody liked the Wolverine game, and also thinks that all the hate is because of those nasty gamergaters bringing it down.

And there are ways to mitigate bleeding. Releasing a turd to save on money causes people to dump your turd at resellers. Is it difficult to pivot? Of course it is! Which is why you don't spend that much money and time on a bloody game! Can't unhire SBI? They had so many flops. You can justify more time and money to undo their stupidity. Sunk cost fallacy? Sunk money on fixing the shit when you are charging customers 70 and 80$! At least then, you can make your money back.Yes you are absolutely ignoring reality. You come off as a petulant brat who can't understand how the world works.
He was paid by them repeatedly. Call it what you will. They have a tendency of giving tards a ton of money without a tard wrangler and now they complain that the tards are acting like tards. Everything that happens to them is caused by them. If they wanted whatever IP he created, they should have told so at the very beginning. Not this "I have altered the deal. Pray I don't alter it further." kind of thing.First, you're changing shit again because you have no argument. That is literally what you said. Second, Kojima wasn't under Sony's payroll. No, it's not. Because once again... sunk cost matters. This is why Fairgame$ hasn't been cancelled yet, they've spent an extra couple of years wasting even more money trying to pivot which as I said is incredibly difficult to do, and it'll still likely get released as a turd no one gives a fuck about. You cannot decide to just not have SBI involved in something 4 years down the road after they've already been involved;.Your entire argument is defeated by pointing out that Sony was never forced to make such games.
And once again... no one is defending sony's retarded decisionmaking or their shitty studios. But it doesn't change the fact that if Hermen Hulst were fired tomorrow, there is going to be so much garbage already in production, that it would be another half decade or more at this point to see anything produced without his influence on it. Nor can these companies afford to just throw 5 years of work in the trash and then start a brand new project and then go a decade without revenue. This is the entire reason Bungie was retarded for being the size it is, and only having 1 project that turned out to be utter trash, leaving them scrambling to try and get something together for D2 because otherwise they won't have a way to generate revenue for another half decade. And there are ways to mitigate bleeding. I know that but you still are expected to do other things. Things such as greenlighting good things. Concord could have been saved by removing pronouns and changing designs to something better looking. Fairgame$ could have been saved by altering the language and designs. Throwing all those years down the drain is hard but doing nothing might as well as be throwing them down the drain anyway if the game gets refunded. No, it's not. And, as I said, there are ways to mitigate the bleeding. Announce games that are guaranteed to hype people, promise to keep the designs sexy and that they won't take half a decade to make in order to render nose hair and to make sure they offend the raging activists. What do they have to offer now for the near future? 5 flops. Show the customers that there are good things to look forward to. Resigning themselves to a financial hit and nothing more is a choice. And once again... no one is defending sony's retarded decisionmaking or their shitty studios. This is not that damned complicated, assuming you have an understanding of business operations and contracts beyond that if a fucking lemonade stand.
Bullshit. Even the few people that played it and weren't game journos said that the gameplay was crap.Concord could have been saved by removing pronouns and changing designs to something better looking
Announcing new games that get peoples hyped does not generate revenue for 5 years until the game is out the door, after suffering from losses due to the last 5-7 year project failing. This is why Highguard shutdown so quickly, or the studio behind Mindseye kept having to do layoffs until no one was left instead of having some big turnaround like Cyberpunk 2077. There wasn't anymore money. Like I said, if Hermen Hulst were fired tomorrow, that doesn't fix the problems for ongoing projects and "hype" is not revenue to pay people with. And, as I said, there are ways to mitigate the bleeding. Gamergate really is a cultural touchstone moment whether people want to admit it or not. It lives rent free in these people's heads over 12 years later. It failed for multiple different reasons, but not for the reasons they say it did.Well somebody liked the Wolverine game, and also thinks that all the hate is because of those nasty gamergaters bringing it down.

lol no it didn't. Nobody's taken the gaming press seriously since that shit kicked off and the gaming industry is sinking along with them, drowning in their endless woketarded bullshit and "fuck the customer" attitude that launched GG in the first place. It failed
They're likely just crying about the social media grifter types. Grummz, TheQuartering, shitters like that who do try to farm engagement. Real gamers shitting on insomniac's dumpster fire of a game aren't just trying to farm social media engagement.Gamergate really is a cultural touchstone moment whether people want to admit it or not. Also how are Gamergate people tourists? If this is the logic they go by, that even 12 years later people still talk about how gaming journalists are shitheels that don't rate games based on how good they actually are, wouldn't that mean they are the most invested in the hobby?
Sure but people have batted for a lot of things that lacked substance. At least it wouldn't have created a meme about designers mocking the designs and it wouldn't get canceled just like that. A lot of things about that game began with wokeness. If there was no wokeness, there wouldn't have been a culture where they were afraid to point out that the emperor had crappy designs in his game. The bad designs and the bad gameplay have the fact that it was staffed with woke people to blame. Better designs would mean non-terminally leftist devs.Bullshit. Even the few people that played it and weren't game journos said that the gameplay was crap.
Would it be a panacea? No. Would it create positive buzz? Yes. Beggars can't be choosers and that kind of an announcement would create some positive headlines. You have to tell investors/shareholders/customers that good products are down the line. Playstation being a part of Sony can be at least partially subsidized by other business units and this is how they get away with that crap. This is how NMS got continued funding for development to "fix" the game, Sony as a publisher was backing them. It's also the same reason CDPR was able to throw money at CP2077 and fix it post launch, because they have an entire gaming storefront they get a cut of to continue generating revenue.

Mission fucking accomplished.
Gamergate failed. However, they kept bringing it back again and again and again to the point that a lot of gamers re-examined it and ended up reviving it, this time victorious. Every accusation was re-examined, every lie was in the spotlight but above all, everyone was sick of wokeness, #metoo, false allegations and attacks on gamers. If they had let it be forgotten, then it would have taken longer for the public to realize they were duped. They couldn't leave well enough alone. They're likely just crying about the social media grifter types. Grummz, TheQuartering, shitters like that who do try to farm engagement. With that said, we need to keep in mind that the retards who make comments like this assume all gamers are some weird hivemind cabal of chuds that post 3-5 videos and 10 tweets a day about shit they never would have cared about otherwise if not for ad revenue, all just to keep the non-existent "modern audience" under their boot-heel.
Again, buzz is not revenue to pay employees, leases, equipment costs, and other debt with. Hype and buzz, you might as well be saying they need to operate on hopes and dreams.Would it be a panacea? It isn't money but it is the promise for future money. Have PS be subsidized by the rest of Sony to buy time, announce games people will like, dewoke the company, find devs that want to work but were chased away due to being too white and you have a road to recovery. As things are now, better to have problems and potential solutions that might drive share prices up rather than just problems.Again, buzz is not revenue to pay employees, leases, equipment costs, and other debt with. That's what investors already exist for. The hope to sell something to consumers. That's how you afford your operating costs while creating the product for the consumer. And finding devs chased off? The good ones? They moved out of the game industry. Why the hell bother continuing to work with retards, crunch, and outsourced bullshit when they can get a gig writing updates for some CNC machine or some accounting software somewhere? Especially since DEI is still there, SHRM simply re-branded it to BRIDGE.It isn't money but it is the promise for future money. Also, anything that keeps people from making memes on Wolverine and the other flops (past and future) is a positive thing.
In order to reassure the investors/shareholders/customers that you know what you are doing you have to show you have a good plan. Announcing good games is a cheap idea that works. Good devs have to be enticed. Sadly, Sony is too woke for that but that is on them. That's what investors already exist for. The hope to sell something to consumers. Hype is a band aid. Wouldn't stop all the memes but it would generate positive buzz. It is necessary for long term. Between Marathon and Wolverine, they had a streak of failures. That streak will continue with some of the future releases too. Fairgame$ and Hunters Gathering are a certain failure and an almost certain failure respectively. Intergalactic comes after Cuckmann lost all his good will with both gamers and normies. Laufey is a spin-off that features none of the characters we know and has a cube as a fighter. Until Dawn 2 has zero hype. You can't just let this happen. You have to show that after those flops, there will be good stuff. And this wouldn't stop people from making memes about the shitty wolverine game or any of the other garbage they've got in the pipeline for years. A year ago when it was obvious there was at least a bit of a cultural shift and a lot of woke crap was finally starting to get rejected, it was always going to be meaningless for videogames from the big publishers in the short term because of how invested they are into their already existing projects. Trying to run a company based purely off of hype is how you get shit like Star Citizen or Supreme. Making back 75m on 300m is better than making 0 on 300 million. Lenders and investors are not going to simply wait another 5-10 years for a studio to get its shit together with nothing to sell in the meantime after spending the past 5-10 losing money as it is. Fuck, even Bungie and their un-vaulting d2 content. Clearly they've realized they can't make money off of Marathon, but patching old deleted content back into Destiny 2 isn't going to generate them any revenue either to survive until their next project unless they pull some bullshit to find a new way to try and squeeze more money out of their customers.
I own a PS5. It's my reality.Imagine having no games.
Just make it Prototype but with Wolverine. If Wolverine was a open-world game, what's the original idea? Having 5 small maps (like Yakuza 5 done in 2012) but completely playable?
Tranny who pretends to fight for a living pretends Wolverine is a good game. This all checks out.Well somebody liked the Wolverine game, and also thinks that all the hate is because of those nasty gamergaters bringing it down.

No, make it MGR with Wolverine. The cutting mechanic and the stealth elements are a great combination with Wolverine.Just make it Prototype but with Wolverine.
GG is winning the long war because making fun of shitty games and not buying them is free and easy. Meanwhile studios and publishers pour millions into development budgets and advertising only for the game to underperform at best or become an embarassing flop at worst. And in the aftermath, sometimes the gamer hating devs get laid off and we get to laugh at the schaudenfreude.lol no it didn't.
