"AAA" and "AAAA" with regard to gaming has nothing to do with investment terminology(for bonds). Also, you seem to have missed that this was obviously a bullshit troll post about insomniac.
Hardly the most retarded thing NetherRealm has made. Liu Kang's fanfic, anyone?
They didn't like what he had to show, or didn't like the terms he was willing to accept. It's not that complicated. Also, yes Sony has had multiple studios on the chopping block and killed them off for producing trash. For some reason you continue to refuse to accept this reality.
And we are supposed to believe that something Sony didn't like sucks? We saw what they liked. Wolverine for one. Them not liking it doesn't mean shit. Also, they killed studios for following the orders Sony gave them. Why can't you accept this reality?
And once again you're ignoring the reality of how long the development cycles for these games have gotten. Wolverine was announced in 2021, with some pre-production work starting likely before that. SBI was barely a known entity until 2023, and the SBI detected shit didn't even kick off until 2024. Was someone supposed to go back in time and tell Insomniac to not hire them? This is of course also ignoring the concept of contractual agreements, where it could be that the work SBI did was after the public learned about them, but obligations still required them to at least be paid and acknowledged. Having game development times hitting 5-7 years has definitely been an issue, because we see projects started in response to industry trends that are no longer positive trends by the time the games come out, and that goes for everything from gameplay to narrative, with no easy way to pivot after dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the project already. But this isn't even a Sony specific problem and hasn't been for a decade.
I am not ignoring the reality. I point out how retarded it is. This lemmings' jump where everyone is spending too much time and money on stuff without doing anything customers want, purely because everyone else is doing it too, has been the norm but what of it? At any point last year they could have at least fixed the models to make them not look like ass but they didn't do it. At any point, they could have done what Sega did and fix the models.
And what is that about time anyway? What were they doing for five years? They spend years and millions on making sure you could count the nose hair on every character and eliminated everything that could be mistaken for challenging or fun. Will spend years to ensure every pride flag is shoved in the customers' face but they miss something as obvious as what the Puerto Rico flag looks like.
Yeah, don't give me the "dev times are long now" crap. They are long and nothing of substance is being done anyway. They could have been less long if Sony/MS/Whoever stopped caring about melting the machine the game is being played on. Sony and MS are the main drivers of this kind of dev time and budget. Indies and Nintendo do better for less.
What the fuck are you even talking about now? Kojima never worked for Sony. He worked for Konami, and his current studio had been negotiating a business deal with Sony. Sony didn't "create" Kojima, and the rise of his career started before the playstation even existed. Also, what do you mean replace him with someone famous? Who? Damn near every "famous" game dev has turned out to be shit when on their own and without the original team that got their name to be known in the first place, or years ago moved out of game development. Can you even name a "famous" game developer with a successful track record from the past decade that isn't relying on a 20+ year old portfolio? And why specifically seek to hire someone "famous" anyway since all that's going to do is result in increased cost on the back end due to demand.
Didn't say "created Kojima". I said created the entitlement in devs that have worked under Sony's payroll. When you give and give for years with no strings attached, you create entitlement. As for someone famous, get indies, get those who were chased away by the woke, HELL train some people. The E33 guys were partly composed of former Ubisoft guys. There are many who would love to just make games. But Sony is too woke and incompetent to poach good devs. It isn't my job to tell them who to get, they spend so much money and found no one actually worth buying. And yes, there are many hasbeens too. These are apparently the only ones they poached.
Probably like the nu-god of war games. You get several playable areas to run around in. They're all open once you finish progressing the story in them. You can look for upgrades and items and other things in them.
This looks more like Dad of War than Spiderman. Makes sense though.
