Sony can you please fuck off with the timed exclusive shit and put that money into actually developing a game that isn't a Ubisoft clone or Uncharted clone? Maybe you could take a crack at making a decent exclusive multiplayer game? FPS? A WRPG? A JRPG? A puzzle game? Platformer that isn't a tech demo or full of furry bait?

This is their biggest problem, a bunch of popular genres are borderline gone on their console now. With FPS they're left with EAshit, Ubishit, and Activisionshit since Bethesda is gone taking id, Machinegames, and Arkane with them. The only notable WRPG devs left that Microshaft didn't buy are Owlcat, Larian, Biogay, and CDPR (and nobody trusts CDPR or Biogay anymore). They're relying on Squeenix and Atlus for timed exclusive JRPGs. Squeenix hasn't made a good one not named Dragon Quest in over a decade, and Sega is probably breathing down Atlus' neck to get them to stop sucking Sony cock.

Point is why the fuck are you wasting money on making goddamn kickstarter games timed exclusives when you should be building up teams to fill these holes? Closest thing I can think of that they're doing is hiring the guy who directed R6:Siege to make a shooter at Guerilla but if Killzone proves anything it's that those guys can't make a good shooter for shit.

I will kinda laugh if the timed exclusivity of Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo ends up biting them in the ass somehow where people really enjoy them then find out they aren't going to be getting anymore games from those devs without buying another plastic box or building a PC.

Also, Naughty Dog turning into Naughty Dogshit doesn't help matters either, as their next project is an Uncharted remake, with no news about THE OVER 200+ AWARD WINNING GAME THE LAST OF US 2.

That's literally why the genre exists. Oh and don't cite mario as being free from it, Yoshi foot porn is a thing.

Because naughty dog is working on a multiplayer shooter supposedly.

Psychonauts 2 just came out. A Hat In Time exists, Rayman used to exist before Ubishit killed it. Yeah all those games have porn of them but most of it would be on the cusp of illegality.
Also Voodoo Vince exists and is super underrated imo, even if just for the 10/10 soundtrack

There's a reason I say decent multiplayer game. TLOU factions was decent fun but I didn't exactly see people buying consoles for that or a huge fanbase for it. And frankly I don't trust Naughty Dog to make a fun multiplayer game anymore, especially after TLOU2. They'll probably do the same dumb shit 343 did with Halo and make the multiplayer being interwoven into the canon and you'll end up having half the character models being roided out troons.

It's a pretty safe assumption at this point that Insomniac has effectively taken Naughty Dog's crown. They've filled the space where naughty dog excelled at in not only 3rd person action games but their previous spot with 3d platformers..

Also Hat in Time still falls prey to it, she's got a cat outfit and Rayman you've got the faeries in both 2, Origins, and Legends.

Voodoo Vince, I think that still fell into the same category as Dr. Muto, Scaler, and Metal Arms where they just never caught on. 3d Platformers in general would be welcome but they need a larger number of hits outside of mario to grow the base.

Im glad killzone seemed to have quietly took a backseat after shadowfall. Still looks more beautiful than most of these overrated Ps5 propaganda shitposts they call “games” these days. Though Guerilla has trooned out heavily since then.

Oh great The Twisted Metal TV Show cast Anthony Mackie as John Doe.

Now John Doe in previous twisted metal games was a Federal Agent with amnesia. He was never really on par with characters like Sweet tooth, Warthog, or Mr. Grimm so it's a very odd choice for him to be the Main Character of the TV show. He may wind up being a clone made from alien/human DNA which could explain his rumored heightened clairvoyance powers or they may just rip off the Ghost origin of Spectre or Grasshopper as a twist. But he apparently got hit by a Semi Truck which kicked off his amnesia. His vehicle is still supposed to be Roadkill.

Seems like they're just trying to attach big names to this, but the problem is the gold standard for car combat movies would be something like Mad Max Fury road. While they may be getting big name talent, it's going to come down to the stunt coordinators and those types of people because the premises is cars blowing each other up. They really need people who know how to put together a series of action scenes because that's what's going to be the main appeal. If they have a twisted metal TV series and all it is is a bunch of people talking to each other and car explosions are used sparingly, it's going to be ass.

Twisted Metal is really something that shouldn't need big name actors. It's a needless expense where there are far more significant things that should take priority.

this thread has become a real deep dive into the company that makes shitty robot vagina consoles for faggots that have controllers that break and you can't even buy a console because they've been sold out for over a year because Sony decided to release it in the middle of coof + chip shortage season

also it has no games
I’ve seen in various product stock tracking discords that it’s easier for people to purchase a PS5 at MSRP than a graphics card at MSRP. Sony is doing alright in getting their console out, just not providing a reason to buy one beyond loyal customer purchases.

The only people on PC who are gaming are graphics card manufacturers themselves.
I mean who do you want to cater towards, a person who buys 1 graphics card every 5-8 years or the person who buys 25 graphics cards every 6 months?

I'm gaming on PC so...

It's not that hard if you're not a fucking retard about needing "4K 60 FPS Raytracing!!!"

And if you do want that, well, you pay the big bucks like a grown up I guess

Gotta dump your garbage somewhere.

So you admit Horizon and Death Stranding are garbage now?

Uncharted they're bringing the two entries at once that everyone says to skip.

Horizon I'll be a bit more forgiving towards since it was a new IP. The base game's quest design was less than optimal, with many quests being GO HERE TO X AND THEN TO Y. The quest rewards themselves were also not worth most of the time. The Hunting Lodge was probably the best designed side quest chain in the whole base game, you were rewarded with unique weapons and fought a "mostly" unique boss for it's conclusion(they call him Redmaw but they couldn't be assed to texture the Thunderjaw actually red and it was just a battle damaged version).

Now playing Frozen wilds, the quest design improved from objectives to rewards, they had a pretty good variety, from solving puzzles in a huge dam, to infiltrating abandoned military bases, to exploring the insides of a mountain and an active volcano, to quest chains that rewarded entirely unique weapons and armor upgrades with special abilities. All in all they did a decent job with solving most of the problems with the original when it came to open world quest game design. Frozen Wilds definitely used the area better, it was a smaller area but everything was properly spread out and there was always a central hub that radiated out into smaller places to explore. The base game in comparison doing everything possible made it feel a bit tedious by the end, Frozen Wilds didn't overstay it's welcome.

The one issue I would still say is a problem is that the collectibles do jack shit(this is for the base game and expansion), they're simply there for vanity or to check a box. They take the most effort to collect but offer the least reward. The system of random boxes of loot is useless since you can just farm stuff from high level enemies pretty easily, so that needs to still be overhauled because there's little to no point in it. I'm hoping the sequel shows significant improvement and they can further fix and improve the core gameplay design

Death Stranding many people are on the fence on, Kojima became known for making one type of game. And according to what's going into the Director's cut, he's essentially making it like metal gear 5 where he's adding bases and other stuff where people can stealth in because those were popular elements that many players liked. I thought the original version was fine enough, but it wasn't what most people were expecting. The package carrying system was pretty thorough and well designed allowing you to have multiple ways of achieving the goal. It wasn't some last minute slapped together system. But it's not a terribly exciting game, so the backlash is understandable. I mean it's about 7 tenths of the way looking like a Metal Gear game and lacks the things like the level design, array of bosses, and outwitting your enemies.
