The infamous candy-taking line isn't actually supposed to mean what people think it does. A lot of people take it very litteral, as if Shadow is saying "Yeah, that's right - I'm a bad guy that does bad candy-taking things!" but the original Japanese translates to something along the lines of "This is almost too easy, not that I'm complaining."

I haven't the slightest idea why they decided to localise it this way.

Kind of disappointed that Frontiers and Forces stages are returning for the game to be honest, I was really hoping they'd keep to games from 2011 and earlier and pick some interesting deep cuts. With that being said it looks like they actually improved on that crappy ruined city level from Forces so I'm interested to see how they take it in a new direction, but I would've been happier seeing another level from SA2, Shadow (which reminds me, we haven't seen any level from that game yet. They better be adding the Black Comet), or hell even a level from Rivals lol

I find it a bit strange at Chaos Island's inclusion only for the reason of shadow not being in frontiers at all. At least a forces stage appearance makes somewhat some sense as that game had shadow in the plot.

it really illustrates how visually boring frontiers is when you put it next to stages from other sonic games. also they should bring back the chao garden for this, they wont but they should. Generations is already one of the most replayable sonic games, with shadow in it now they could have the alignment system, they already have an in-game shop for buying eggs and such and they could stick a portal to the chao world in the hub

Shadow running around murdering people was what we wanted back then. Maybe not so much with a gun, and not so much with a 10+ rating.
in SA2 there's manned aircraft enemies in radical highway you can kill if you're skilled enough or if it's the one that RNG spawns in that one area of the lower areas on that one bridge. You can kill people in SA2 those aren't piloted by robot monkeys like the cop hovercars in speed highway from SA1. It's just normal human pilots.

That's right, I didn't think about that. In fact, now I'm remembering people pointing out that Eggman murdered a shit ton of people when he blew up Prison Island.
And Shadow gets to try and assassinate the President in his game, that is pretty metal.

The more I see the new trailer videos for this thing, the more i ask myself the same question....

"Why isn't this it's own game?"

Seriously, if Black Doom is the cause of all of this, this could have easily been Shadow 2: Electric Boogaloo. Why did this need to leech onto Sonic's 20th Anniversary game?

His backup plan in SA1 after the chaos city destruction plan fails is to just bomb the fucking city off the map, and then when the missile fails to do it despite hitting the target he literally decides "fuck it I'm just going to manually detonate myself" till you stop him. SA2 is kinda an escalation of that "casual mass death" shit that started in the first game of those two.

Black Doom has been present throughout every step of the marketing but I can't shake the feeling that they're going to try to loop back to Eggman's Time Eater being the cause of everything.

Well I mean as said in the cutscene that explains everything that's happened in the game through exposition a lot of people somehow completely didn't get, the time eater mech uses it's time travel shit to literally "erase" eggman's "failures against sonic" from the timeline which is the explanation for why the game's all past stages in a weird pocket dimension void. It's not a stretch to say eggman fucking with the timeline means black doom doesn't get defeated. Sonic 06 got reworked into the timeline despite originally being intended as a reboot that literally erases it's own events at the end, which means that place might have already been IN the void before the other stages got sent there as a result. Shadow the hedgehog as a game aside from the jank heroes chaotix extension gameplay and edgy guns is entirely about splinter timeline paths revealing more of the lore behind shadow (and an excuse to use the ARK post SA2 but that's unrelated)

They're probably either going to say one of these three outcomes.

1. the Black Arms was the origin of the incomplete alien tech Eggman found floating in space post colors, and retrofitted into the power source for his time eater

2. Black Doom got revived as a side effect of Eggman fucking with his own timeline too much, but like the other characters who's history got fucked with that he threw into the time void thing still remembers everything despite this.

3.Black Doom can literally do the time eater stuff without the need of a mech

If it's the third or first one it could explain the alternate paths in shadow being nothing like the true ending and being required to get the true ending.

EDIT: or 4. it could all be clickbait like sonic forces and he's just some fucking illusion/clone or schizo hallucination.

Don't forget the entire city getting flooded. "All's well that ends well, right?" is a meme for a reason.
