Story: during one night, a bracelet known as the ark of the cosmos crashes from the sky and makes a bunch of meteotech robots malfunction and begin raiding places around the world looking for the
other 4 arks. another one fell near tails and he gfave it to sonic, but they are targeted by the meteotech robots. thye later find out that the arks can manipulate matter and use it to control gravity. so the story focuses on team sonic and team babylon conflicting and trying to find all of them.

later after a conflict with eggman at crimson tower, sonic, tails, knuckles, and amy decide to give the arks they have to jet, wave, and storm. but then, the robot SCR-HD comes and steals all 5 of the arks from wave and flys to Babylon Garden. the heroes find out that babylon garden (from sonic riders) was actually a spaceship and the Babylonians came from space and the arks of the cosmos were their creation, and if brought back, it would make babylon garden create a black hole. and thats what SCR-HD does. the exterior falls off and babylon garden becomes astral babylon, and generates a black hole that threatens to consume the entire planet. sonic and his gang along with team babylon went in and fought SCR-HD, now Master Core: ABIS, in the Mobius Strip and destroy him and stop the black hole.

sonic and his gang went back to megalo station only for jet to speed by and sonic decides to go after and race him.

the game added new mechanics

gravity control. you can change gravity to take shortcuts.

gear change. you start off on your board and it changes to another gear.

Vehicles:

Board. the basic that characters start off on.

Skates. they let you can grind on rails

Air-Ride. it lets you fly from fly ramps and go through boost rings.

Bike. you can smash through obstacles.

Yacht. windsurf boards. lets you fly from fly ramps and through boost rings and ride opponent's slipstreams. this is much like Disney's Treasure Planet.

Wheel. Monowheels. can break obstacles and perform slide turns. but gravity control is shorter.

Characters:

Speed (Grind):
Sonic
Jet
Amy
Shadow
Blaze
Amigo From Samba De Amigo

Flight (Air Ride):
Tails
Wave
Cream
Rouge
Silver
NiGHTS from NiGHTS
SCR-HD

Power (Bike)
Knuckles
Storm
Dr. Eggman
Billy Hatcher from Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
SCR-GP

all:
Super Sonic

the game was met with mixed reviews.

the Good points of the game:
awesome soundtrack. especially its main theme, un-gravitify
https://youtube.com/watch?v=2HTs2n0q-RA
Good Controls
NiGHTS from NiGHTS, Amigo from Samba De Amigo, and Billy Hatcher from Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg are playable
good variety of vehicles
stages were cool.
story and ending were nice.
80s Boulevard and 90s Boulevard were cool stages
the hang on gear plays its theme when used, which is cool.

Bad Points:
some gameplay elements from the previous game were removed.
lack of online play.

pretty good racing game.
Don't have the game, but the story sounds like it was poorly written. The genie in the first game kind of made sense, but the spaceship part sounds like an idea from an bad fanfic.

On the other hand, the anti-gravity thing sounds innovative when you compare it to Mario Kart 8.

do you think its a good idea to get sonic forces? im easily amused with generations and mania, as well as the adventure series

I've been wondering the same. I know the consensus is that the game sucks but the same was said of Unleashed and I enjoyed that. Fuck whoever design Eggmanland, though.

alright. next game im bringing up is good.

Sonic Unleashed. released for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and Ps2 on november and december of 2008.

676967

Story: Sonic goes into space to confront Eggman and goes super sonic. but eggman lures him into a trap and uses his chaos energy from the emeralds to split the planet in pieces (this is the 2nd time he's done that) and awakens an evil demon called Dark Gaia. this also causes sonic to turn into a werewolf-like monster called a werehog when night comes. he was ejected from the ship with the 7 powerless chaos emeralds and onto the planet. there, he meets chip. and the two must now go to the temples around the world to restore the chaos emerald's powers and put the planet back together and defeat dark gaia. along the way, sonic will encounter eggman's robots during the day and dark gaia's monsters during the night.

during the day, you play as sonic speeding and boosting through levels and getting to the goal.
during the night, sonic turns into his werehog form. he loses his speed, but gains strength. he fights and beats up dark gaia monsters and he can stretch his arms to get to distances

the game was met with mixed to positive reviews from critics.

good points:
this is the first game to use Sonic Team's new Hedgehog Engine. which would be used in later games like sonic colors and sonic generations.
the graphics were great and smooth
memorable stages, like rooftop run.
epic boss battles, like the Egg Dragoon and dark gaia.
voice acting was great. this game is actually one of jason griffith's best performances as sonic.
soundtrack was awesome. like the game's main theme, Endless Possibilities.

the Tornado plane levels are fun.
you explore hub worlds like sonic adventure.

Bad Points:
Eggmanland was really long and lots of deathtraps are everywhere
inconsistent camera control.
some of the DLC was annoying and obnoxious.
the framerates can sometimes be choppy.
the Wii and PS2 versions were bad ports. instead of hub worlds, it was all point and click. and button quick time events when fighting enemies. also, some stages like empire city were missing too.

game is good. get for xbox or ps3, because those are the better versions.

I'll be honest, I never really liked the boost formula games, primarily because I hated how Sonic controlled. He feels so stiff and sluggish. Sure, it's a lot faster, but that doesn't mean anything when Sonic can barely turn around. It's like the game actively fights you if you try to control Sonic in any direction other than straight forward. It makes the games more frustrating for me, which is a shame because I want to like Unleashed and Generations, but I can't.

Got Unleashed for Wii.

The opening movie was absolutely awesome and most of the daytime stages were pretty great. But the night stages were kind of weird in the sense on how time-consuming they were. As in it takes over 6 minutes just to clear through an arena and spend most of the stage climbing onto edges.

unleashed sucks.

the moon and sun emblems are a dumb gimmick that no game has since used and the boost mechanic is broken, and the story is shit.

and the furry community went apeshit. need I say more?

hey sorry for the bump. but i want to bring up the next sonic game.

Sonic Colors. Released for the Nintendo Wii and DS on november 2010.

The wii version uses the hedgehog engine, which was used for sonic unleahed, and the ds version uses the same engine that was used for the sonic rush games.

This is the first game for roger craig smith to start voicing sonic. he's also done the voice of chris redfield from resident evil, Ezio from Assassin's Creed, batman in batman arkham origins and the batman unlimited films, wonder blue from the wonderful 101, and more.

Plot: Sonic and Tails board an elevator that takes them to Eggman's Interstellar Amusement Park. a park with planet sized attractions. they later rescue little aliens from orbot and cubot called Wisps. and they give sonic the ability to use new powers. thye alos befriend a wisp called yacker. so sonic and tails explore the amusement park rescuing captive wisps and destroying eggman's mechs. and stopping eggman from using the wisp's energy to take over the world.
the ds version also has sonic and tails' other friends exploring the other levels.

in the DS version, after defeating eggman and getting the 7 chaos emeralds from the special stages from each of the areas, including game land, the mother wisp appears and is corrupted into a nega wisp by eggman. yacker tells sonic to help and sonic goes super sonic to fight and restore her.

Levels:
Tropical Resort
Starlight Carnival
Sweet Mountain
Planet Wisp
Aquarium Park
Asteroid Coaster
Terminal Velocity
Game Land

the wisp power ups:
Cyan Lazer
Yellow Drill
Orange Rocket
Red Burst (DS Version)
Blue Cube (Wii Version)
Green Hover (Wii Version)
Pink Spike (Wii Version)
Purple Frenzy (Wii Version)
Violet Void (DS Version)

both the wii and ds versions were met with positive reviews

Good qualities:
the wisp powerups were fun.
memorable stages like tropical resort and planet wisp
awesome final battle with eggman.
the DS version also had a great final battle where you play as super sonic and fight the nega mother wisp.
if you get all the red rings in the wii version. you can unlock the ability to go super sonic. the ds version gives infinite boost instead.
Soundtrack was amazing. especially its main theme Reach For The Stars by Cash Cash

Bad Qualities:
half of the game is 2d and barely improves boosting.
collecting the red rings is a chore.
the levels in the DS version have no checkpoints.

good game. both versions were good.

I really want a Steam port or something so I can play this finally. Looking back this looks like one of the better Sonic games I missed out on.

Also, looking at gameplay on YouTube, the DS version makes me nostalgic for Sonic Advance 1 & 2. I miss that style of 2D Sonic games and I wish SEGA would makes something like that for the Switch or smartphone so I can play one on-the-go again. Maybe make another episode of Sonic 4?

I always thought they could've added just a little bit more to Terminal Velocity Zone. For example, I thought those knight enemies you see on the map could've been enemies you'd fight on your way down. It was really short, and there really wasn't that much coming for it.

Adventure 1 characters controlled the best

adventure 1 had some weird wall magnetism when the character was going fast. Plus it didnt help that some of the faster sections had lots of tight tunnels and paths you had to go through.
Adventure 2 ''solved'' the problem by slighty adjusting the character movement and rendering those curvy paths less prevalent.

I keep forgetting that's a thing and then I remember hugging the rails in Windy Valley and attaching to the tubes of Lost World when I don't want to.

But Adventure 2 felt like driving a car and not running like Adventure 1

Problem with windy valley is what we actually got, was worse than what we were supposed to get. Look at this recreation of the beta version of the level and judge for yourself.
But Adventure 2 felt like driving a car and not running like Adventure 1

yeah, adv2 felt more on rails overall, compared to adv1.
Thats why I said "solved" but they really didn't because it felt different.
