Here's one that's been bugging me. Seed scams/plant scams:
This whole shop is a scam, and the name is "Northern Gardens US" but the shop location isn't listed and it doesn't appear when filtered to US-only (so, it's probably out of China).
This one isn't a scam only insofar as unlike the plants above, it's real, but prarie smoke doesn't grow like this. It only looks like this if you twist it into this shape.
Also, the seeds probably won't sprout anyway.

Haworthia Cooperii does not even REMOTELY grow in any shade of blue. It's already a cute little succulent, no need to photoshop it. Growing succulents from seed is pretty hard because some need weird conditions to grow (I have one succulent that requires its seeds to be refrigerated for 60 days in wet sand and total darkness, none of my seeds worked this year).
There's so many plant and succulent scams. I've resorted to African Violets nowadays because there's really no scammers, the community is small and passionate, and sellers are very honest. Also....people get crazy with genetics and creating wild new violet patterns. It's kinda cool tbh
I have reported the Northern Gardens US shop so many times. It's clearly a scam. The seeds will probably sprout, but it'll be gourds or invasive wildflowers like a few years ago when everyone was getting random seeds in the mail.

I was in the market for some band pins, so I thought, why not give Etsy a shot.
Big mistake. Massive mistake.
(Well, not really, but I still found some weird fucking shit without even trying.)
I went and looked up... well, I'm sure you can guess from my avatar what band's merch I looked up.
The handmade stuff on this site really is something else... See, you get a few "vintage reproduction" people who make some genuinely nice stuff on the cheap. And obviously the "true vintage" stuff is fine. Overpriced, but fine.
Then as I'm looking through the rest of it all, this one listing comes up.
I now bring a story, in three parts.
Who (...heh) is any of this for except for weirdass zoomer fangirls? And more importantly, why did 9 people have one of those in their carts?
If anyone gets close enough to you to read the ones with the text, they're going to think you're a maniac.
Oh, and even before those showed up for me, Etsy was trying to show me generalized shitty "queer" pins reagrdless. Because apparently if I like Pink Floyd or Black Sabbath, I must also hate TERFs. Forgive me, but I don't see the connection.
The lady doth protest too much if she weareth a pin that sayeth she is notlike the other girls a girl. (The pin they had to censor out was some generic ACAB shit. I imagine the previous listing was reported for promoting violence or something.)

Think of all the money you could make if you were good at SEO, making decent graphics, and maybe spending an hour a day answering questions.
A skeptic podcast group called “Oh No Ross and Carrie” bought a lot of these spells and prophetic vision readings from Etsy and everything they got was clearly randomly generated or copy/pasted. So it sounds like maybe an hour of work a day could make you a pretty great income if you do a bit of work beforehand that you can copy and paste from. Or if you’re decent at Excel or software dev, you could create a database and randomly generate readings and spells based on categories.

There are people charging upwards of 20 for basic tarot readings too. As an experiment, I’d be inclined in using a cheap deck, making a questionairre that essentially says “what are your problems” then crafting a reading around that. You’re hardly going to get a rational customer base, you could probably get away with rewording online readings.

That's bullshit. I used to do them for free. That said, they are a fair amount of work, especially if you do a complicated spread.
If you want a reading, you have to do is go to a tarot forum or Reddit and wait for someone to post 'readings for feedback' and it's free and I guarantee you that actual thought and effort has gone into it. That said, people who want other people to read for them are usually the type who believe in fortune telling and think that tarot can tell the future. (It can't.)

It’s Etsy. Selling bullshit is practically their deal. Sure normal people wouldn’t dream of spending money on a tarot reading but these people aren’t the ones leaving 5 star reviews on break up spells and Celtic cross readings. Also, from experience none of the tarot spreads are hard to do it’s about as difficult as solitaire.
Half of your post reads as “reee that’s bullcrap I did it for free and It required hard work.” - you can play for play buy books and tarot cloth layouts for less than 5 on alibaba let’s not pretend it requires deep thought.

A celtic cross reading is basically a more detailed reading than you'd get with the simple three card spread. Each card in the cross represents different times and possible outcomes from the question you ask. It's overkill if you ask me.

It’s a 10 card reading instead of the usual 3. You’ll see people who do these readings cry about how complex it is to use variant cards in a fixed placement. As an example, see the comment I was quoting.

They're all over the place on ebay and amazon. Bunk seeds that don't even germinate, and if they do, you sure as hell aren't getting what's pictured. They're so obviously photoshopped, and yet retards continue to buy these without using any critical thinking to go "wait a second. this miiiiight be a scam.". I don't feel bad when anyone leaves a 1 star review on amazon complaining that their "straight from china" seeds haven't arrived in over 9 months, You brought this upon yourself dumbass.

Who the hell would want to eat a blue, green, yellow, or black strawberry? It looks disgusting.
The white strawberry (pineberry) is a real thing and they're good. But the seeds are obviously fake. You'd want a greenhouse rooted plant for a pineberry anyways.
The stupidity of people never ceases to suprise me. Especially when it comes to plants.

Aren't there rules against selling seeds on Wish? I could have sworn there was a big thing about chinese seeds being sent that were actually harmful since they were invasive and not native to the united states.

I have no idea about wish specifically but I remember that happening during covid lockdowns, conspiratards went nuts over it.
Also, I was sewing a zippered pocket into a bag lining tonight and suddenly remembered Corissa and J's friend who makes terribly sewn zipper pouches. She doesn't even fucking press her seams. I have no idea how she has almost a thousand sales.
This one is called "wavy", your guess as to whether that refers to the print or the awful stitching:
