Anything that doesn't require joining a Groomcord server to download and play is a plus in my opinion.

It requires S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 or CoP:EE.
I added it to my library no problem since I got the EE for free.

You receive both the original games and Enhanced Edition when buying EE or OG. I frankly have no fucking idea which one is available anymore since GSC is mad ratarded.

I understand that but I'm not spending over $10 just for the EE when I've got the OG on Steam. I've already downloaded and used Gamma before so I'm no stranger on how to install it though it being more simple to download it would be nice.

The original versions are still available for purchase on both GOG and Steam. As you mentioned, you get both versions, regardless of which one you buy.
The only difference is that the original games were unlisted, not delisted, from Steam. They are still purchasable, but they won't show up in your search unless you have a direct link (like this one).

Nu-GSC is just butthurt everyone is pirating the trilogy to play mods with, as well as downloading standalone mods that don't need the base game in the first place and they're trying to monetize them despite the fact that Griga left a gigantic copyright minefield upon GSC's initial shutdown. All of GSC's assets and code that was released is free to use by the community in non-commercial uses, but everything made with them is GSC's property. That's how it was decide back in 2011 or so, and now they're trying to do... something, I guess. Whatever it is they've made up in their tiny little minds.
What's next, playing whack-a-mole with any and all reuploads of the original GOG trilogy to get people to pay for the censored demasters? It's starting to feel like they're really circling the drain on how to stay afloat after the disaster that's STALKER 2 and their tactic on capitalizing on the Russo-Ukrainian war is starting to do more harm than good when that shit has been going on for almost four years now and everyone is sick and tired of hearing about it. Especially when it's still being used as a deflection as for why nu-GSC is so shit at their job when more and more people know how quickly they relocated to Czechia and how much time has passed since then that they can call it's all bullshit.

What I found the most retarded and consider the peak of Ukroniggerism is when GSC thanked the modding community for keeping the game alive and then castrated the said community by effectively exodusing russians from the entire community (which are responsible for +/-90% of the mods).
