Looking at reddit. It seems that far more players were upset at it being a lazy and low effort collab.

Was working at my part-time side hustle today. It’s a very family-friendly atmosphere, so we get *a lot* of parents and children. There was a young pajeet boy dressed in a full-on Harry Potter costume. Hogwarts uniform, glasses, hair, forehead scar…the whole nine yards. Totally random (we had no theme event going on), and impressive.

Really made me smile. HP was never something that interested me- and it’s kind of mind-boggling how solidly it’s maintained its popularity after 3 decades- but knowing how much seeing that display would’ve made troons/their enablers seethe is just oh so delicious.

Every time a troon sees a new consumable introduced, a new theme park opened, more IP being made, or an individual being open about their love for something as innocuous as Harry Potter, and it just fucking ruins their day? That makes me happy.

There's surprisingly little derangement on display, these days. I guess they've all finally buggered off to bluesky, where they won't have their feelings hurt by people telling them men are men and women are women.
 
Abusers don't celebrate when their victims refuse to take more abuse; they seethe and DARVO. If Rowling were intent on virtually abusing Himdia, she would be screeching about how he's silencing her truth or some such nonsense. She would be bombarding his place of work with letters and phone calls demanding he unblock her and threatening to harm herself. Basically how troons behave every time they hear the word "no."

I feel like there may be some Jonathan / Himdia Willoughby specific context that I’m missing here. Like, he’s clearly obnoxious, but does he have any specific history with blocking or being blocked? Specifically by women or feminists? Because if he made some braggadocious claim that he never blocks people because he isn’t afraid of debate or whatever, this comment would be really funny in hindsight. I’m not saying that’s what happened, just curious as to whether you or someone else in the thread has an answer regarding this. British reality television performers aren’t that big of a deal internationally.

Edit: I was (rightfully) worried about spelling braggadocious wrong, so I asked ChatGPT to scan for errors. I was also curious about whether the robot would chastise me for transphobia. I deliberately avoided saying “ignore the content of the paragraph” or similar phrases in the prompt.

Shockingly, it did not berate me for wrongthink! It actually generated some pretty funny example phrases! I think this is because it didn’t recognize who Jonathan is. I think it thought “Himdia” was a stage name. Either way, it was a sign that the Internet is healing.

I think it’s just that he keeps trying to insult her, getting embarrassed, and then trying to claim victory. Him blocking her just means that he’s effectively acknowledging that he has not been winning these little disputes.

I think there's a couple of things at play here.

I think some of them don't understand the joke, sure, and I think some of them do understand it's a joke, and are just deliberately choosing to interpret it in the world possible light in the hopes that they can make Rowling look hateful/unhinged/pathetic.

But I also think you have to bear in mind that a lot of trannies have very little theory of mind, and tend to think that people see the world as they do, I assume because so many of them are some shade of autistic. They attribute their own thoughts, motives, or emotions to her, because they are unable to properly model another mind as separate from their own.

J.K. Rowling is taken extremely seriously by troons, so they believe that she takes them extremely seriously in turn. They've created a role for her in their heads as the final boss of transphobia who must be destroyed, so to them, it stands to reason that she spends her days thinking up ways to genocide them, like some kind of bizarre comic book villain.

"I feel X toward you, therefore you must feel X toward me."

This is extremely common in people with low theory of mind, poor mentalisation or weak self–other boundaries. She can't just be making a flippant, facetious comment, because that implies that she finds all of this amusing - this has to be a sign of her absolutely insane, genocidal hatred of trans people.

Willoughby is notorious for blocking, much like Erin Reed. People who have never heard of Willoughby before have found themselves to be blocked.
It's a long standing joke for new followers of terfs to see whether they are already blocked by him.

That's why they flip out when she treats them as the jokes they are. She doesn't get down in the mud with them, she just gently mocks them because they and their concerns are trifling matters. It causes them cognitive dissonance because she's supposed to be beaten down by their bullying and threats and instead just treats them as a joke.

While I wouldn't be surprised if she sues one of these freaks, she'll probably pick someone more important than Himdia, and wait until they do something so actionable that going after them with some monster law firm like Carter-Ruck or whoever makes sense.

All she's had to do so far is to get her lawyers to send a few people a stern letter and they have scrambled to retract their statements.
She keeps that for the truly libellous fools, Willoughby on the other hand is just ridiculous.

I agree, it’s a sleeping giant situation.
Almost everyone has seen that big brother clip which Himdia frightened a bunch of middle aged and elderly ladies, looking like he could have got violent at any second.

Everyone knows he is a crazy man in a dress even if they are a Troon supporter and say they think he is a heroine of the movement.

As soon as someone who is taken more seriously does something actionable, she will strike and make it public, loud and clear.
