To be fair, I think a lot of this has to do with how getting a job in corporate America works as well. Your actual skill at your job is almost irrelevant these days. What matters is paper credentials, gaming the resume submission system, knowing important people, schmoozing your boss, and just plain luck. If somebody like Tesla tried to get a job today, some HR Karen would probably get The Ick™ and he'd die in obscurity.

I thought that he is raising his left brow on the first photo, but apparently it's his natural expression. Poor fucking Quasimodo. He is destined to wear beanies until the day he dies. If I were him I would want to be burried in a beanie too, so that I don't go to the afterlife rocking that boulder of a head.
 
I think guy is fine if he has enough confidence to post himself like that and say Ah yes I look like that from surgery when I was a kid, whatever.
I don't think it's over at all. Just the few lines we saw show the guy is doing okay.
