r/nursing is a subreddit where every week someone asks the question "What would change if nursing was a male dominated field?"
And the masses cluck back "We'd be paid more."
Bitch, you make $85k a year right out of college. Don't fucking start that shit. If you didn't want to wipe asses, should've gone for coding. Then you'd be unemployed like all the other retards who listen to what other people tell them to do for their life.
Shut up, wipe ass, and collect your massive fucking paycheck.
Meanwhile EMTs make barely above minimum wage across all 50 states and it's at LEAST 60% male. You can top out at like 70k a year max if you are one of the few lucky to go paramedic and then flight medic. Don't even ask how the nurses who work along side flight medics are paid. It has nothing to do with being a female dominated space and you are paid very well. God forbid you have to work for a living... in air conditioning!
Oh, and to compare, r/ems had to ban memes except for fri-mon because otherwise it'd just be another shitposting sub. So I guess if nursing was a male dominated field, instead of being a bunch of cry babies it'd be an actually enjoyable sub.

Googled and found this gem: https://www.reddit.com/r/nursing/co...=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Literally points out the contradiction in their own statement.

Nurses are paid so much they can't hire enough because they can't afford to. You wanna be mad? The issue is reimbursement, not the evil hospitals being sexist. You can only extract so much blood from a stone and our convoluted medical system requires expensive administration labor costs. God these people piss me off. Imagine bitching that you can make over $100k with your bachelor's, work 3 days a week and have overtime out the ass, and the job will PAY for you to get your masters and make $150k, all STILL HOURLY!
These people will always be miserable because rather than fix what they don't like about their life, they just bitch online about how it's somehow someone else's problem. You want to stall all your life, fine. But the rest of the world doesn't care that your crystal glass tower has a smudge on it.

I should append I have nothing for respect for nurses and the nursing profession. This in now way dogs on nursing as a whole. Just the asshats who make up this sub's population. These are the people who bring down nursing. These are the nurses who make the profession look bad. They're the same retards who sit behind their counter all day and act like it's a chore to get someone to help slide up the person who's so sick they can't muster the energy to slide themselves up in bed. There are a lot of good nurses, but there's a lot of bad eggs and they all seem to call r/nursing their home.

To be fair there is some truth to it. Historically, ADHD/Autism was mostly about boys and keeping them in check because their disruption is more..., well, disruptive. Meanwhile girls' brain develop faster (11 year old girl have same brain as 12 year old boy) and rarely chimp around like boys, so their problems are often masked and because of that overlooked.

However, I would imagine that it stopped being true maybe like 10-15 years ago and now women more overdiagnosed than ever.
So the shitskins arent diagnosed either because they're all loud no matter what?

We have reached full circle and now the covid cultists are the ones who refuse to trust the heckin science and know it better than all the nazi doctors telling them to lose weight. Its incredibly funny to observe the zero covid cultists going through the virtue signalling motions that were already outdated five years ago. Its like a cargo cult made for OCD Karens who really enjoyed telling others to wear a mask. They just want to keep playing their little game and feel sad about themselves being the victims, when everyone has moved on from it. All those meaningless rituals, testing, vaxxing, masking keep repeated religiously, because its no longer about the flu, its about the ritual to them. They crave the feeling of being Heckin Good Human Beings, doing the correct things, the correct rites to earn asspats and updootz from the powers. 2019-22 was a really big era for most leftists, no wonder they endlessly want to relive it.

One would be tempted to blame the Internet for this, but I think women being more emotional than men by nature's design also means some women would find certain diagnoses "romantic", in a way.
The bpd/nimphet/grunge/landmine craze certainly got fueled by progressively easier internet access over the years, but this was already present in media back in the 90s, even 80s. It's just that some teenage girls took it as an identity for the rest of their life, instead of growing out of it, like when people used to have emo bangs, or wore big stupid chains and their shirts backwards, or pretended they were hardcore because they smoked fags being 14, despite hating the taste and smell.

What I'm trying to say is that it isn't only professional overdiagnosing at fault. Some women just saw media and later on certain places on the Internet, like Tumblr and Instagram, and decided they should mould themselves after this or that behavioral pattern, in appearance, actitude and personality.

In the same vein but the other side of the coin, autism is getting extremely overdiagnosed in young boys just because they are bored in class (teacher sucks for example) or they are way too shy and have issues talking to other people (surely they are low functional!), and pharma and psychs with questionable morals benefit massively out of this. Add, again, the ease of access to the Internet, and it's a disaster. The child will find other misdiagnosed children, or even worse, adults, and then embrace the autism mislabelling even more. And then you get the Mario adults, the Users that are the Opinion Bashers, a lot of this could have been proverbially slapped out of them if they had proper support from their family, their school, their community. Just like the I want to fuck toasters 4chan meme.

It's honestly grim.

They also get intentional misdiagnoses through their moms literally spoiling them into retards, then doing everything so their baby never ends in army, where they would get their heads screwed on right.

That last one (rd16) admits to being 220-230 lbs and uses a CPAP. But sure, it's your totally real, totally debilitating EDS that's causing issues with your knees and not the fact that you're a fat fuck pooner.

They are also convinced that anyone who mentions being sick, being tired or is sick has long covid because they aren't pure like the people still masking while walking in a park.
Got toddlers that go to daycare and come home with a mild cold every month? COVID CONSTANTLY AND AN IDIOT!

We also have this entitled beggar post that is going a little bit viral:

One thing I would caution anyone who tries to take advice from people on Reddit is that Redditors are typically highly unreliable narrators. Here's an example that caught my eye today:

Wow. This woman sounds like a very thoughtful, empathetic mother. Gentle parenting per excellence. I'm sure there's nothing she's said anywhere else that completely contradict this, right?
Screenshot 2026-10-09 041802.png
Um... wait, what? These are completely contradictory parenting styles. Not even situationally, but fundamentally different on a philosophical level. And notice the timeframes given. The "We gave him cash and the car keys" and the "We glued his fucking windows shut" incidents would have happened around roughly the same time. So... what the hell was happening in this house?

The actual answer is "Who the fuck knows". OP is simply saying whatever she thinks will get her the most upvotes.

Notice the only symmetry the two posts share - "I anticipate criticism for being too soft/too harsh", and then "My son thanked me". She's the vindicated hero, even if what she's doing is the polar opposite of what she did somewhere else. This is the tell-tale sign of a bullshitter at best, and a pathological narcissist at worst.

Yknow now that you say it... I havent seen someone properly identify with 'social anxiety disorder' in AGES even tho it was all the rage in 2016. Now its all autism, audhd, ocd or generalised anxiety.

Imagine being a kid with social anxiety and your doctor tells you that your being quiet, avoiding people, underdeveloped social skills, etc means youre retarded. Surely thatll make them feel better about themselves.

And while with social anxiety theres a heavy emphasis on actually curing it with exercises (tho ofc it has its own problem with throwing meds at a kid and calling it a day), with autism youre lucky if someone actually teaches you how to function instead of going 'eh, its just the autism'. Bleak.

ADD hasn't gone away. They're combining them together (AuDHD) for boys in most cases and the solution for the ADHD side is medication, of course. Medication for seven year olds. Seven! And you get no sympathy from parents or teachers if you choose not to medicate your "ADHD" diagnosed child. Sorry I don't want to dope my kid and give him psychosis so you can "teach". You can learn some empathy (they love that word) and, maybe, understand that boys are not defective girls. They have different needs in the classroom. That would be a start.

I remember when ADD was all the rage in the late 00s-early 2010s, which got quickly replaced by ADHD, then autism, and now some combination of them. It was kinda crazy to see the shift happening in real time back then, where suddenly half the people you knew had this new disorder.

Now you get to choose your disorder of the day like they're pokemon characters. Lol.

Nah in my experience it was adhd, then add, then adhd AGAIN, then autism, then audhd

Tho as a kid I dont remember them making a big deal out of adhd, basically just a synonym for being hyperactive and maybe needing a wiggle cushion at most. And im pretty sure there were some aspie kids who kept that information strictly between themselves/their parents and the teachers with some quiet time headphones. Their neurodivergences were just viewed as 1 of their many personality traits instead of some ailment that should be taken super seriously and get them a free pass for all kinds of shit.

And A LOT of these modern adhd mofos ignore that adhd kids genuinely outgrow adhd on like a clinical level in close to half of cases, and im 100% sure that a lot of these new 'adhd' (and maybe autism) cases are just brains fried by technology and fully curable if actually given proper help that they now wont get bc of their misdiagnosis.

A lot of it has to do with lazy parenting, too. It's just so much easier to blame autism and do nothing when your kid throws a temper tantrum and starts throwing shit in public than to actually be a parent. I've known too many people like this, unfortunately.

Minor update to this post - elsewhere on Reddit, she claims the second story was actually something her sister did with her nephew:

So... she's either lying about it being something she did, lying about it being something her sister did, it's something they somehow both did at some point, or the whole thing is made up. Answer's on a postcard...

all her posts have the typical AI short punchy sentence structure
“To go. To run. To go to these safe places.”
“He was bored senseless.” Yes, they were.” “Harsh? Yep.”“A plan, a place, options, hope, an escape...”
Having in mind this was written before chatgpt its just proves the meme but not just managers it's most people

I remember when the talking point during the Woke 1.0 era was that ADHD is "a label old white women give to young black boys". The implication being that it was pathologizing normal childhood behaviour. I wonder when that went out the window.

ChatGPT was indeed heavily trained on Reddit comments. It's why it's so difficult to tell AI spam from actual Redditors.
This reddit post causes what I call "trickle down transphobia"
This has a real world effect, by the way. Support for 'trans rights' has actually declined over the past decade.

Most people in the real world are actually quite passively tolerant by default. "Live and let live", "If a man wants to live as a woman, that's none of my business", "They're weird but harmless, whatever". It's only after people started being hot-housed on the issue that they started to sour on the whole thing. It's called the boomerang effect.
