Glad I bought the blu ray when I did, it's weird to think that we're in a far flung enough future where things like blu rays can be long out of print and expensive, but from what I understand there's quite a few rare blu rays out there.

Near Dark desperately needs one of those fancy Shout Factory re-releases with a much better cover.

It does pretty much ruin the movie, in theory it would be a good pick for a remake, but you could never replicate Bill Paxton's performance, the dude is the best thing about the movie (in addition to the bar scene, I also love the way he cocks his shotgun and says "check out time!" in the hotel shootout scene)

Even 5 years later I'm still not over Bill Paxton's death, the dude was just awesome.

Getting a new cast to replace Henriksen, Paxton and Goldstein would be difficult but not impossible.

I don't know if I'm being autistic, anyone has pointed this out already, or if its just me,

But the kid actor who Jay said he fucking hated, and wanted to punch looks exactly like our dear feeder, ngl

This is literally so stupid. I can't put it better than Shamus did.

You’re effectively creating anti-advertising. There’s no way to know how many views you lose because of this, but you can prove it’s more than those nine cents can buy you. Since Google takes a cut for themselves, the money you make per view on advertising will always be less than how much you have to PAY for a view when YOUR video is the advertisement. Don’t get so excited selling handbills for nickel that you forget your REAL goal is to move those $60 concert tickets.

Who last heard of this movie? RLM gave it more attention and advertisement than any trailer in the last decade.

I know if I was trying to sell a film, I would be giddy to have the hackfrauds bring it up.

Sad to hear that about Leo Fong, RIP.

Fright Night should be a Re:View. That film is great. And the soundtrack! Fuck yea. I didn't even mind the remake.
Another movie with a rare Blu Ray thanks to being a Twilight Time release, although I don't know if it's gotten a more common re-release since.

Blu Ray of Near Dark is pretty awful, digital nosed reduction to hell, everything looks waxy and there has been speculation the blu ray itself uses a non HD source.
Oh yeah, that's another issue I had with the movie was the Blu Ray didn't have great picture quality, another reason it desperately needs a Shout Factory release, I'm really surprised it doesn't have one already tbh.

Maybe the attention from the RLM Krew will result in the rights holders getting off their asses and making a proper release?
It happened with True Stories, didn't it? Feel like that can't be coincidence that it got a Criterion so soon after their Re:View.

Was watching the HitB on Bruce Willis and the geezer movie factory and they point out the void in Bruce Willis' ear in Apex where his earpiece should be. But what if...the earpiece was meant to cover up that the inside of his head has been replaced by a gaping abyss that stretches into infinity.

:spooky Theremin theme music plays:

So sad about Leo Fong. Len had been posting regularly about Leo in the RLM Reddit (I lurk for memes, I know I'm pathetic). You can tell how much being able to work with him meant to Len.
Well, Leo might not have been the greates film maker, we still enjoyed them quite a lot via RLM, but he was also a martial arts legends, I think he was friends with Bruce Lee, so I see why Len felt so drawn to him. True legend and he embodied the american dream, he was a martial artist, filmaker, social worker and pastor. RIP I always know its going to be a blast when one of his films appear in BOW

Patreon Update:

Hey everyone. We're currently editing the next Best of the Worst as well as a new "Mike and Jay Talk About" video for the new-ish Sean Baker movie Red Rocket. The BOTW episode is basically a normal 3 movie episode, but we did add a fun little gimmick to the beginning to pick the movies. And the Red Rocket video was intended to just be a quick recommendation, but we ending up talking a little more than we normally do for a "Talk About" video.

Also, we've recently been going through all our old hard drives to archive everything . Up until now, our videos have been spread across tons and tons of different drives over the years, but now our entire back catalogue has been backed up and archived onto one big NAS server. It was a big undertaking but the point being, we found a couple of old videos that haven't really been seen probably since the Blip days (which means they haven't been seen at all by a lot of you). Nothing amazing, but some fun little one-off videos we kind of forgot about and we'll be posting them here to Patreon soon.
