Oh, you mean cross-save functionality as in your online character is recorded online and you can play online on either PC or console. I thought you meant cross-save functionality in the single player.
Oh, nah. That'd be a bit much, I agree.

It's the online that people wanted for PC. A lot of them already played the story mode and they wanted to experience the online mode with the fancy graphics and such. Only to be asked that they abandon the characters they worked so hard on.

Definitely. If Rockstar is going to do this bullshit staggered release double dipping malarkey they should at least have character transfer.

What a waste of my fucking money. I expected GTA 4 levels of bullshit shitty FPS drops I could feasibly suck up, but NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME is a brand new fucking low.

At least you could start Fallout 76.

Also they've been refusing pre-ordered refunds because they have in-game gold attached to the pre-order bonuses. Get fucked I'd say.

Wait for Steam. Epic Games/Proprietary Store launches are basically the new Steam Greenlight.

Why are you guys sperging about a PC release for a game nearly a year old? PC gaming should have been done away with Ages ago, but a slew of viruses, bad frame rate, and games too big to fit the memory RAM, yet thanks to novelties like Steam, its withstood the test of time!

And to think, if only you had a PS4 to download it, you had already played it for the year, and have had none of the problems of the PC release.

I sure love paying 400 bucks for a movie machine
Take your console faggotry to /v/ you retarded nigger

Playing the game right now and really just taking my time and enjoying it, my only technical gripe is that I can't figure out why the Playing Cards in the Poker Minigame look like total shit 1993 Background graphics (textures are set to Ultra fyi).

Other thing that really kills me is that evidently I'll experience the campaign in 50 hours or so. Rockstar made the most stunning portrayal of modern day Southern California in GTAV & now the Old West and we only get 1 campaign half of which is assuredly a damn tutorial.

I loved what they did with Episodes from Liberty City DLC Expansions for GTAIV, they basically made two stellar short stories reusing the NYC backdrop.

I could see so much being done with RDR2's world. In this regard I really applaud Ubisoft in how they made a bunch of fun short bonus campaigns for Far Cry 5. You've done all the hard work in making game mechanics and why not just make more stories?

Releasing a bad port of a critically acclaimed game is one thing.

Releasing a launcher to segment your games that doesn't work half the time is another.

Releasing an anticipated port of a game that is poorly optimized, WITH a subpar launcher?

It's like game developers are racing to see how they can fuck up their namesake and screw over fans.

I'm just waiting for the native trainer so I can fuck around. And a crime overhaul mod. I did get it to run at ~60 FPS by fucking with the volumetric and water physics settings (why is this setting such an FPS hog) and I haven't really encountered any glitches outside of this very weird tree glitch. The game does look really good. But still, I don't think it's even possible to have it run at a consistent 60. It will nearly always vary between 58 and 62.

The suits figure that microtransactions pushed by ridiculously expensive items are cheaper and more profitable than DLC.

Which is still a kick in the teeth, since Rockstar games are already some of the most profitable games on the market. They can easily support Red Dead Online while making a couple of DLCs for the campaign, they just don't feel assed enough to throw their SP fans a bone outside of a few scraps for a year at best.

Console fans are really salty that PC got an exclusive gun (and a couple guns ported in from Online), despite the fact that Rockstar seems to be indicating that consoles will get them too. I almost felt bad for them until you see some of the dumb shit they say, like saying PC players aren't real fans of RDR2 because they mod it or saying that they deserve it because they've been playing the game for a year. Some dipshits were so mad one compared it to the serf system in Europe and another said this is why we need communism in game development.

In other news, performance has gotten a lot better for the most part, but there's still tons of little issues Rockstar needs to fix. For instance, I'm not even sure that the lock-on settings work. The photo mode is awesome.

This finally launched on Steam today. Already has nearly 600 reviews, with an overall 'mixed' reception, with most of the negative reviews saying they can't get it to launch, citing poor performance, and/or bitching about Rockstar launcher. I've already got a few things to play, so I'll probably wait a while longer in hopes that they actually stabilize it in the near future.

Most of the gamebreaking bugs are fixed, and the performance problems are strangely come and go. However, it wouldn't surprise me that it probably doesn't launch on Steam, Rockstar is just that incompetent.

You think theyll make the next game another Redemption or a Red Dead something else. Not many good R words left. Reunion? Revival? Revenge? Rectangle?

If they ever set one exclusively in Mexico, my money's on Revolution being the name of it (y'know, because of the civil wars).

Thing about that is you dont get the diverse environments. Maybe start out in Mexico or Mexican territory if they take the timeline back farther

Red Dead Dementia.
Sequel to RDR, but also spiritual sequel to vice city, as it features a 90 year old Jack Marston in the 1980’s breaking out of his Florida retirement home after getting into one of the staffs coke stash, and going on a horse riding outlaw rampage, thinking he’s still in the Wild West.
Would feature a cocaine mini game, where you have to keep Jack coked up enough to be functional, but not so much that his ancient heart gives out.

Or at least that’s the game I’d make.

I got the game for Christmas, and I'm at the very beginning of Chapter Six. I am having a very good time, but I do have a lot complaints.

  1. Way too many stealth-based missions. Like, way too many.
  2. Way too much fog/smog/mist. It might just be my version, or something, but often times it is way too hard to see because of the aforementioned weather. To the point where most of the time it's my biggest problem.
  3. You can only keep four stabled horses at a time.
  4. Horses are slow af. I know the ones in the first game might as well be cars with how fast they move, and I know they tried to fix that in this game, but they over did it.
  5. They went overboard with the immersion. I know what Rockstar was trying to do, and I like some aspects of it like the camping system, and cooking, but I really dislike the hunting, gun, and fence parts of it.
  6. The story isn't very good. Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun with it. It's just that everyone is really dumb, and their characterization, especially Arthur's sometimes, just seems to go all over the place.
  7. All of Chapter 5. I get what they were trying to do, but it honestly felt like completely out-of-place filler, and I hated all of it.
  8. The witness, wanted, and bounty systems are all broken af, and I really hate them.
  9. The fact that you can't skin horses anymore.
  10. The random O'Driscoll ambushes are fucking awful, and ungodly annoying.
  11. No one shuts the fuck up.
  12. They killed Lenny like that? I knew he died, it was spoiled for me, but he goes out like that? He doesn't get a cutscene, or dramatic close-up, or any last words? No. He just falls over dead, because cops shot him on the roof. The gameplay doesn't even stop. He just keels over. At first, I thought it was a glitch, but no. He really dies like that. What the fuck, man? Lenny deserved better than that. I mean, Sean got shot in the face mid-sentence, but at least it during a cutscene. Lenny gets nothing.
