Chris was the most successful person from Manchester High School at that time, being the TRUE and HONEST creator of the world renowned comic book character Sonichu, and constantly being surround by a harem of gal pals. Why would Chris care about two random athlete jerks? If anything, they'd be reaching out to him to find out him, to get some advices on picking up gals and becoming an internet celebrity.

My question is; has sonichu almost achieved what Chris wanted? He as a person will most likely be infamous for a long time. Yes he has gone completely off the deep end and can never really be respected but sonichu is KNOWN worldwide. And his ridiculous idea for the adult chronicles game is being made, albeit by people on the forum and not in a serious sense, but still. I know all this interest comes with a huge amout of novelty attatched to it but in some twisted way sonichu has achieved some sort of "fame." Idk just my two cents haha.

No, because it didn't happen on his terms and was completely polluted by trolls and slanderous mockeries.

And that's 100% true. But it still has its own community and fan fiction and all kinds of stuff. And while the argument about it being only trolls and mocking is correct, I think that fame and infamy can sometimes be very close. And while he had no say and nothing he wants has come from it, the fact is that people all over know about sonichu. That doesn't mean its any good though ha.
 
Haha ok. I guess the argument was better in my head. I just think it's received some sort of weird notoriety beyond what most people thought it would.

Yes, in the sense that if Chris bought a cursed monkey's paw from an evil gypsy and wished to be famous, this would be what happened.

Did it make him metric fucktons of money? Did it draw out legions of cartoon-obsessed supermodels to line up around three city blocks for the chance to get their bend on, perhaps even take in Chris and utterly support him without complaint? Then no, it didn't.

He'll keep trotting it out, though, as the comic's the closest thing he has to a body of work. Without it, his life is rendered meaningless.

Sonichu became imfamous for even some Nintendo-related youtube videos to mention it. I think it may have been some promotional video that did? And certain images he put on the net became more famous then he himself or anything he created ever did. At least one celebrity tweeted the picture of him wearing his mother's underwear, back in the day.

For a while he was kind of hot and happening, I think. A lot of people online and quite a few offline were aware of his existance, at least to some degree. They probably knew him as "that fat autistic guy with the medallion" or "that guy who made the awful comic".Several internet users who later would become lolcows in their own right compared themselves positively to him. Moleman for example calls himself "the anti-Chris Chan", as he sees himself as the prime example of an autistic guy who in spite of his handicap actually is a good artist. He called himself this before he was even aware of the forum's existance and before he got a thread here.

I'd say at Chris' peak, few people knew his full name and even fewer ever saw more then a single page or drawing of Sonichu. Still, I feel like he's kind of the Godfather of lolcows and certainly the most iconic.

It's just a throw-away comment in a hushed voice by some community manager type or whatever, but there might have been something bigger that I've missed.

You aren't saying even Chris will kill Sonichu? It's only been a year or so since he was still speaking to his 'Chus… He was speaking with Megagi and Sonichu.

Maybe with the house fires and other important crap going on though, could Chris finally be losing his childish interests?

There's the amazing fanfic called the real sonichu that a user on the forum makes. That's why I say maybe it will continue on without him. As a revised version or something.

Ah, but he doesn't. He doesn't focus on sonichu at all nowadays. I mean, maybe it might come up, but it's a lot less important than you might think it is. Not having what he wants (a fuck mommy) is what renders his life meaningless.

It's possible, but unless Chris' life stops being so shitty, I think he has bigger things to worry about. And I'm not that confident that that'll happen anytime soon.
