Fucking ugly creep has the same spiked short hair others were talking about fundy males having. Eyes too far apart, little rat teeth, ugly straight eyebrows, one eye is far away but one is almost right on his nose. No wonder these fuckers are against abortion.

Ugh another religious grifter family of singers-/"musicians."

The majority of these families aren't exactly great musicians, we could probably support a whole thread on these weird fundie musical families and their terrible singing (usually not quite in tune since that's not required for church), but they get their hype from being simply that, a family if musicians. A family band.

Oh, how neat and exotic.

What trades is this family into?

Do they travel around asphaulting driveways?

Aren't like the majority of the Anabaptists in the US all descended from the same dozen dudes or something? Hence why they have rare weird tarded kids?

We know evangelical communities are "closed" communities but the rumors seem true about spawning with family.

Are they the Hapsburgs of... Baptists? Does the whole family have that weird slanty face weird eyes look to them?

I'm sorry am mobile fag didn't mean to doublepost

I don't know why they think this is okay, do they seriously think "oh they aren't allowed to have sex when they are courting so it is okay" that was the reasoning a lot of evangelicals I knew gave for when their teen daughters dated much older men because "they are waiting until marriage, it is only bad if they have sex" nevermind most of these men are only thinking about getting into a young girl's pants and taking advantage of them in much more ways than sexually rather than having a serious relationship.

I know in many states, including Arkansas, you can get married underage if your parents sign, even to people well into their 20s and 30s and they can't be charged with statutory rape if you are married to them. It wasn't until 2018 (the year the first state, Delaware banned underage marriage) when some Jewish woman who survived a forced marriage by her Orthodox family and a black woman who was forced to marry her rapist by her mother pointed out these loopholes and some states already banned underage marriage only allowing it for people 18 and over no exceptions.

This is pretty common belief among a lot of "traditional" mothers. I remember in Twilight's heyday, a journalist interviewed a bunch of Twilight moms about how they felt about a lot of the fucked up shit Edward does to Bella (stalking, emotional manipulation, kidnapping, among others) and the fact that he's over a hundred years old and she is 17 and if they were worried about the example it set for their teenage daughters. Across the board these Moms answered that it was fine because Edward was a "gentleman" who "never takes advantage" of Bella (there's literally a part in the books where Edward removes part of her car's engine to keep her from visiting Jacob).

It isn't too surprising that these people think sexual exploitation is the only way to exploit a young girl if they already have the tendency to reduce women and girls to just their sexuality. It's just an extension of that idea that's common among a disturbing number of parents.

...and if he wasn't a gentleman, then it's your fault for not being virtuous enough!
I remember reading fundie literature that basically said "good women attract virtuous men" and sold this weird fantasy that if you are virtuous enough then Mr. Right will appear, and if you aren't-- then you will watch him pass by you and be very sad. Of course, Mr. Right doesn't exist, and the idea of such a thing is worldliness because God meets all your needs! That said, here's why you should obsess over yourself and your virtue some more or else you won't get a husband. Also here's an anecdote about by that "boy obsessed girl" who goes to public school will be a failure at life. Ok, now let's say a prayer for your future husband. Maybe he is praying for you right now?

I specifically speak of a book called "Raising Maidens of Virtue" by Stacy McDonald
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1861600.Raising_Maidens_of_Virtue

Some of the stuff about how your daddy guards your heart until your husband shows up makes my skin crawl and hurts to recall. The amount of innocence and cuteness they try to cram into this narrative is so over the top that the tone is uncanny valley weird.

I haven't read every post in this thread, but I searched and no one has discussed the book or mentioned this person. I'm sure if you looked up who is a fan of it online you would find a lot of Quiverfull nuts. The book makes the author look pretty deranged just by reading it, and one of the goodreads reviewers says she has a webpage dedicated to shaming rape victims or something.

The book is full of stupid insane moments, but one memorable one is the mother and the daughters pointing out people's cleavage and tight skirts to each other in public like total creeps, and being weirdly proud on one upping each other on knowing what is REALLY modest (that lady might be wearing a skirt, but not modestly!).
The author also recommends teenage girls lean forward in front of a mirror and try touching their elbows or something like that in order to modesty check their clothes. Might be remembering these things wrong, it's been years since I read it.
I'm glad I didn't have to read it because I was raised in a cult, that would have been hell.

That reminds me of a fundie fairy tale story by Jerry Ross called Stay in the Castle where it basically tell girls, god (and by extension daddy) has a good prince arranged for you to marry and if you leave the fundie circle and become too worldly, you will be miserable and marry someone who will abuse you.

Someone did a reading of the book

Another Josh Duggar update, Feds are seeking Josh's bank records. (Does that mean he paid for cp?) Duggars defense is still trying to blame the cp on some former mexi worker.

"The prosecution is seeking bank records that it states are “relevant for the Government’s case as they affirmatively exclude (the witness) from Wholesale Motors and (the) state of Arkansas on the dates in question.”

Also, can anyone explain this comment I saw on websleuths?

"The Feds have a complicated process of figuring sentences, a type of point system.
If the judge lets in Josh's past history there is a chance it could play a role in the sentencing calculations. "

I'm seeing a lot of legal eagles arguing over if his molestation ( or his cheating on his wife/Ashley Madison scandal, but since it's consenting adults and legal idk) is usable in court or not. Since Josh was never charged I'm curious to see how that shakes out. I don't have any faith in this judge so I won't be surprised if she doesn't allow the molestation or Ashley Madison scandal to be used.

I'm really really hoping some people who went to his church at the time come out to testify . Because Josh had to stand up and testify to his small church what he did and the get his head shaved publically in church as punishment. (? Like what about this makes sense idek)

There's different info out there whether they were dating and just had teen sex and he blamed it on her for being a seductress, or if he groped her and got too handsy and she was scared and it took her a while to come forward. But she was blamed for that anyways . Cuz it's always the girls fault when a pervert boy rapes or tries to rape them. When Josh had his head shaved on the show is when that happened. I didn't watch the show but that is my understandi g of the timeline.

Their church was so fucked up that they were gonna shave the teen girl's head as well as his, or just hers? I've read both so I'm not sure the true story . So then Josh stepped in to do it for her, and shave his. How noble! He took the fall for her, what a savior he his!

. I don't get this, it's not like it's a denomination that values long hair On Men (or beards!), so I'm not sure why shaving Josh's would be considered punishment. ??

But shaving hers? For either underage sex Or getting molested? Super fucked up.

At least one family spoke out that they left the church over this because of JimBoobs hold over the church and their policies, and feeling like the Duggars think they can just do what they want anywhere because they're rich and can just give more money to the church to ignore Josh's transgressions. I think this may be when JimBoobs decided to leave shortly after and start his own "home church" on his property ... The only church they occasionally go to besides their own personal family church is some big Cadillac church mega church, I forget which one.

Since they're "independent baptists" and are not aligned with any mainstream baptist church , they're actually fucking rogue, but IBs love that about themselves of course.

I'm so excited to see the witness lists.
Bets on if his brainwashed sisters will character witness testify that he's a good boy now?

LOL I mean you may not like the guy but that's a pretty average looking dude. I personally think he's kind of goofy looking but overall about middle of the pack, and the fact that he's not fat would give him a few extra points to work with (in America especially). He also looks solidly above average height and is built pretty big through the shoulders. I'm just saying, I don't think a whole lot of girls would necessarily share your opinion. Dude looks like an average state college bro. I've definitely seen uglier and fatter guys doing pretty well for themselves.

PS that's a 3/4 shot of the face, I don't think his eye is actually behind his nose, I've heard people call it "perspective" or something

And starting a "home church" on your property means you pay no taxes on said property.
I don't know what Arkansas property taxes are like, but in California, not having to pay property taxes could save you THOUSANDS.
I remember when CrappyBeautyDiva and her husband wanted to start a church, and they were giddy about the thought of not paying taxes. They were too stupid to realize all of the work you have to do in order to have your property tax-exempt. They ended up not following through with the idea of derp church.

The prosecution is asking for the bank records of another employee of the dealership. Part of Josh's defense is to suggest someone other than Josh could have accessed the computer and downloaded c/p, like this other employee. The government says that the bank records will show this employee was in Missouri at the time some of the c/p was downloaded, thereby disproving that defense.

If Josh is convicted, the judge consults federal sentencing guidelines to calculate what his sentence should be. It is rather complicated and a ton of factors go into it. If his (not criminally charged) molestation of his sisters is considered as a factor, that could nudge the sentence upward a bit (or prevent a downward departure).

I wonder if Rim Job thought this would be the perfect distraction from his golden boy's looming trial, somehow not realizing adding even more pedo shit to your pedo-filled islamic-ass family just makes you look even worse.

Especially since "courting" is more or less watered-down arranged marriage. Though I'm sure quiverful types would engage in full blown arranged marriage if they knew they could get away with it.

No matter the specific religion, religious fundamentalism always ends horrifically for girls especially.

Thanks for this info! I hope when Josh is convicted that the former employee sues the Duggars for libel/slander or something, but I'm sure I'm just being 🌈

So, I understand sentencing guidelines are a big bunch of... Complicated bullshit, but why would the judge be able to use stuff they weren't convicted of? Josh is totes a molester but he wasn't tried or convicted so how exactly can that be used against him?

Like, what if his sister's change their story, that they were manipulated to even saying something happened when Nothing did after all! It was fake memories! Or something. I would imagine the judge couldn't use that.

It’s Arkansas, they probably could get away with it if they wanted to.

Well that's the argument against it being it considered by a judge. There is a base level assigned to a child porn possession conviction. Then from there a ton of things that can increase the offense level, such as if the children depicted were under age 12; if the number of images possessed exceeds certain numbers; whether the defendant sold it, distributed it to a minor, or distributed it to a minor to induce them into prohibited sexual conduct; the degree of involvement in communities dedicated to c/p; whether the defendant has a pattern of activity involving sexual abuse or exploitation of minors (among a whole other slew of things). I'm sure molesting his sisters would fall into that last category. But the judge isn't required to consider it or increase a sentence based on the guidelines. The idea is to try to come up with a fair sentence that fits the crime and the person.

I'd be so pissed if I were that guy.
Exactly who is this poor miscellaneous dude? I hope the court system charges him for lying somehow and trying to pin the nasty shit on an innocent man.

He's prolly an illegal.

Won't be a good look for conservative JimBoob, current candidate for Senator.

It's been a while since I had poli sci in college, I'm curious the number of folks who switch from Representative to Senator and actually get elected. Of course he had years in-between serving as a house member and now trying for senate, so that time in between may or may not help him, but Im thinking it won't. As folks now have to look back at the 2000s to see his track record as a House member , instead of a celebrity, which is what people view him as now.

I'm just curious. Is he still unopposed?
