Arkansas actually has fairly strict laws on underage marriage due to the state legislature fucking up royally a few years ago and making marriage legal at any age. Right now the minimum age is 17 with parental and a judge's approval.

Still, someone could sign away their 17 year old daughter against their will without any say in it and most judges according to testimonies from women who have been in forced marriages when they were underage don't really care.

That’s a good point, but it sounds like the issue is more family control and forced marriage than the underage issue. What would change if those girls were 18? They’d still have no money or support outside their family or community. I don’t have an answer here, but I don’t think just banning marriage for under 18s eliminates the issue.

Definitely agreed, it won't stop these cults at all. I mean, 18 year olds can independently sign contracts and in theory say no to marriage, but that doesn't stop the coercion involved, not to mention 18 year olds don't have quite the life experience, wisdom, money, and resources compared to someone in their mid-20s to early 30s when most people these days get married and if you are raised in a cult? Forget it. There is no stopping girls being courted by 20-30 something men then marrying them when they turn 18.

Innocent until proven guilty. Imagine how awful it would be if a truly innocent person was stuck in jail for months on end and missed the birth of their child because of a false accusation. Yes it sucks that he's currently free, but the alternative is a horrifying idea for American's sense of justice and freedom.

Some more Josh updates,
His lawyer is trying to say that because Josh was not formally involved with the authorities and wasn't charged for molesting that it is possible it didn't happen. So therefore, if it's possible it didn't happen , then it should be treated that way (prolly that whole innocent until proven guilty thing) and therefore anything molestation related,like the police report that was made after authorities came to talk to them and Jobboob admitted it happened, and the friend cop (who then went to prison for chez pizza) who he confessed it to, and gave Josh a "stern talk".
Ummm.. he made a statement admitting to it, well, kinda, really just confessed to bad choices in his youth and that it could lead him down the wrong path, or some nonsense.
The sisters are still suing over the records being made public . The state tried to get it thrown out as "the exact same thing Josh sued for" but the judge was like um no, their case is different, they are the victims and not the perpetrator so their case can continue moving forward I guess.
I still think US District Judge Christy Comstock should be recalled. Josh should not have been granted bail or access to Any of his children, supervised or nite due to the nature of charges and the specific files he downloaded.
(Scott has also done some short segments of the most impt legal parts of the Kenosha kyle trial. He started his channel during the cjris watts trial because the way the trial parts happened and what they were called was very confusing, and the media weren't doing a great job explaining, so he started to just explain in simple terms what stuff meant, or typically what XYZ motion means, in terms us plebs can understand)
(he also has a dumb criminal every day and then a winner of the dumb criminal of the week winner, some funny shit, and he ll even make fun of obvious schizo mental cases or Downeys, whatever, like dude ain't PC, he doesn't sugarcoat)

Just the other day he did a great job if explaining why it is on the state to prove their case (and not the other way around) beyond a reasonable doubt, and why innocent until proven guilty is so impt. I don't disagree with you, I mean yes it's semantics but if you truly believe in the legal system and due process and being able to state your case in a public forum , then yea.

There were only females in Daisy's Destruction as that was Peter Scully's preference and what he had unlimited access to via several filipina girlfriends . The victims Scully and his girlfriends abused in the video were Liza (12 ), Cindy (11) , Daisy (18 months) and Scully eventually murdered the 11 year old . There is an excellent (and disturbing af) long form article online regarding how Scully, his accomplices and Matthew Graham were caught that might be helpful here if anyone wants to post it . The article makes it very clear that people like Josh Duggar don't innocently come across this particular video .
