Just a couple answers to some of the questions about federal court raised in this thread:

The government has a right to a jury trial in federal court, so even if Josh asked for a bench trial that could only happen if the prosecution agrees to waive a jury. Honestly a jury is your best bet if you're actually guilty - it's much easier to fool your average dumb juror that there is reasonable doubt than it is to fool the judge who has seen dozens of child porn defendants just like you.


Most federal courts do not allow any outside recording in the courtroom.
 
I don't understand why federal courts don't allow recording and still only rely on shitty courtroom drawings.

This conveniently allows for zero recordings (aka real proof) of Ghislaine Maxwell on trial.
 
I have heard a rumor that Jim Bob Duggar, producer and protector of a know child molester, is running for state senate UNOPPOSED.

Arkansas people might wanna do something about that.
 
So Josh was given back his laptop? I'm amazed at that, is that standard? I mean they must have wiped it of porn first?

Lol this is what happens when non-lawyers try to write about legal things. No, Josh does not have his computer in his possession. The government still has his laptop in evidence. The government simply filed a notice of its intent to seek forfeiture of his laptop if he is convicted. Meaning, his laptop will never be returned to him or his family but instead will officially become property of the government. Right now it is just temporarily seized pending the conclusion of criminal proceedings.

Yep, Uncle Sam doesn't want to risk the property ever being returned to the public and risk someone fishing out the echos of some really horrorshow CSA materials. Jim Bob may have hoped to get it back eventually for any financial records stored on it (if they weren't using cloud storage for the car lot records) but the government is trying to prevent that.

Oh man, if only they'd find some of Jim Bob's shady financials, we could get a twofer out of this. A gal can dream.

Prosecution plans to bring up Josh's molestation of his sisters.

Also,Lori Vallow now Daybell (maiden name Cox) info coming to light that they Cox fam have an incestuous family. Not exactly quiverful but what a shit show that is. If there's a more appropriate thread lmk, I tend to avoid the news section here.

In Touch mag was the one to do the foia and get the records that were supposedly sealed, and they do a lot of gossip stories on Josh and the duggars . The girls (sisters) are still suing over it. haven't heard a peep about the other girl, who was some kind of visiting adolescent nanny .

The story goes that a woman named "Alice" contacted the Oprah show after the duggars said they were traveling there to meet her and be on the show for a filming. I think there was something about this Alice on Reddit but I can't remember. But she contacted the show to tell them that the Duggars were not as they seem and dropped the molestation bombshell. I'm not sure exactly how this information if Alice got to people at InTouch to then do a foia. If anyone can refresh my memory. And of course the Duggars dfe'd anything on Oprah and never mentioned it again.

Also Anna may have had her baby.

Didn't Josh and Anna have a barely teenage girl living with them and 'helping with the children' a few years ago, like after Mason was born but before Maryella? A distant relative on Michelle's side? Cousin Emily I think she was referred as before they suddenly deleted everything with her in it and never mentioned her again?

It was sus af and I hope she wasn't another of his victims that was shuffled off to pretend crimes never happened.

EDIt: went looking and she was living with them more than a year ago, can't find the exact dates cause reddit sucks but she was definitely there. And she is also Michelle's sister's granddaughter.

Ok thats probably the one that was there helping out when Josh got arrested so she was sent home pretty quick. I vaguely remember it being distant family or something . It's pretty normal in fundie fams to have young women help out family or friends with many kids. Kind of a Domestic Engineering internship...

I wish they knew, this is Not normal...

Michelle's sisters grand daughter would mean she was Joshes second cousin, and Michelle is her great aunt.

Blows my mind that anyone would send their kids to be around him, especially after the allegations finally came out. I cant wait for the trial, its sickening that hes allowed out atm.

Remember when Josh got busted for Ashley Madison and made a statement but then edited the part out later regarding a Porn addiction? Well Josh social media posts about his porn addiction will be used in trial. I'm laughing so hard right now! Oh man this trial is gonna be Fuckin Great! Expose every little lie.

Gawd, I hope they use that clip of him on the show talking about the incest jokes they get as a family and marrying siblings or something.
