I was listening to the Leaving Eden podcast, which is co-hosted by a woman who escaped the sister cult of IBLP. The reason Josh may have said that shit is because of the bullshit he's been fed his whole life about him being an "authority" on account of him being a man, an eldest son, and famous. The idea that he is anything but Teflon is alien to him. So in his mind, saying that to the Feds would prompt them to go, "How do you know?" And he could just tell them some bullshit about how he was trying to catch someone or something and they'd believe him and call him a hero and let the whole world know he was a righteous soldier of The Lord and he'd be redeemed. After all, why would they question a good Christian Patriarch/Celebrity?

He can still file a motion to plea up to ten days before his trial, so it's not the end of the plea bargain road should he want to take one.

But a plea may not still be in the table. He was offered one at the outset of this, and turned it down; after digging through the awful toddler rape and torture videos - and dealing with smug Josh since then - the prosecution may not be minded to offer a plea.

As for the kiddie diddler's children, it looks like at least one of them has been sent to Texas in the care of David and Pris - Marcus was photographed at ALERT Family Camp with them, and a commenter refers to more than one of Anna's kids being with the Wallers.

The thing I worry about, if Josh has a jury trial, is that members of their cult are everywhere. If a bunch of them get on that jury, he goes free. If the jury member's identities are made public, there will be gangstalking and he will go free. It's not just Scientology or the mafia that does this shit.

Here's hoping nothing goes the way the Duggars want it to, and it blows up in their faces.

Would that be an issue for a federal trial though? I know the local legal system is buddies with JB but the feds are a completely different ballgame.
 
The prosecution isn't going to let the defense stack the jury with sympathetic Jim Bob fanboys. All they have to do is ask every prospective jury member whether they go to church with, or associate with, Jim Bob or any of the Duggers. This will automatically boot out anyone who could be biased in favor of the family.

Likewise, the defense is going to want to keep anyone who admires the Duggars and thinks the sun shines out of Jim Bob's amhole. In the end, they'll get a couple of people on jury who admire the family but promise to base verdict in the evidence presented in the trial only.

Because the evidence in the trial is graphic and will be explained in painstaking detail, I don't think it matters too much if a few jury members sympathize with the Dugger clan - they'll be forced to face what Josh did and won't be allowed to skip over details they find unpleasant to hear.

Most fundies don't read the news or watch television so they only know poor Josh is being persecuted and maybe he looks at some porn or something so they'll pray for him. But if they're on the jury, their veil of ignorance will be pierced, brutally. Just like the toddler Josh paid to see raped was.
 
Boob owns a shitton of real estate too. Half the town are probably his tenants/renters.

No, they won't be asked that. They'll be asked if they can fairly assess graphic evidence as it pertains to the law and breaking said laws.
 
If/when there is a trial will Jim Bob ,Michelle , Anna or any family be there ? I know the family is standing by Josh but I am very curious about them hearing about the sickening things he sought out and was watching. Daisy's Destruction involved activity that left the toddler with permanent physical damage (burns) and I wonder if the Duggars have any clue Josh was watching toddlers being tortured.

Has it been established if there will be cameras in trial? Since it's state and fed charges is it automatically just a court habbenings sketch artist? Do trials in that area have any in-person court audience or is it all on zoom? Trial is in Nov. I suppose anything can change with coof-flu numbers by then too and possibly no live courthouse audience.

The lori vallow case had her son and his wife on a zoom square as audience and the general public could stream it. That was prolly for a preliminary. That case is so crazy but I hope something similar happens with this case. I am curious if Boob and Boobs wife will attend so we can see their reactions.theyl likely just silently pray. Lol. They love to flaunt their religion so this would be the perfect opportunity. Such pious parents.

When the Turpin stuff was happening, long before the chink flu, the judge had the camera news people point their cameras to the floor, like when the kids gave statements at senrencing. There was a thing that happened where a picture on Jordans phone was shown (sibling with toothpick malnourished arms chained to a bed) one news source actually caught it when zooming in on prosecutor when the picture paper was handed to her, and another news camera was in such an angle that the paper was a bit like transparent and could easily make out what it was and clearly needed to be sensored. The internet was quick to scrub it tho. They all got yelled at by the judge. (Which I didn't understand really cuz if they have a camera on the prosecutor, like isn't it on the lawyers and bailiff to make sure stuff isn't flashed around? Sorry for the small tangent)

Any opposition will have a field day with the fact that his son is a philandering chomo, and how Duggar Pere did nothing when his own daughters were finger raped by said golden child.

I don't think JB expects to win; I think this is a last-ditch effort to distract the media from Josh's upcoming trial.

I'd like to take comfort in the fact that the opposition would have a field day with this (and I'm sure they will), but then I remember that Alabama almost elected Roy Moore. Southern voters have unfortunately proven themselves to be depressingly forgiving of noted creeps and sex pests (let alone their relatives and allies) provided that they sing the right tune about "muh guns, gays, and abortion". I'm not so optimistic that karma will prevail here, sadly.
 
I just skimmed a bunch of this thread after seeing an article about how former trashy TV star Jim Bob is seeking public office that happened to also mention the sick shit his son is accused of and the looming trial.

I had no idea how deep the rabbit hole went and the depths of Josh's depravity (and stupidity). At least the details of what he said while getting arrested is funny in a "holy shit how stupid can a criminal be" kind of way.

Same here. If nothing else that shit was hilarious. It's like being pulled over for going 55 in a 50 and blurting out "see, I stole the car, so the body in the trunk must've ended up in there before that"... God bless retarded pedophiles. A shame he was enabled by his community and did damage of course, but he likely would've done and gotten away with far worse if he wasn't up there with lifelong paint huffers in terms of cognitive ability.

So is the fact that these people are always in favor of the death penalty. Pro-life, so long as you're a embryo, fetus, or critically injured/disabled baby on a vent. Otherwise get fucked.

And let's be real pro-family only means anti-gay, which in that part of the country has no effect on businesses. And maybe "I have the right to force my wife to pop out babies until her body gives out", but that's not even an issue in this country since we don't have a fucking limit on it. Doesn't stop it from being horrifically ironic considering everything his shitstain of a son has done to their family.
