I was thinking about this, and I don't think that's the case here. I think it's more likely to do with either time restraints, lack of proper transfer software, or they just want these games to truly be a fresh start.Cutting costs perhaps?
There's the rub that's pissing everybody off. The animations for the 3D models has largely stayed the same since Gen 6, Gen 7 has unused walking and running animations for EVERY Pokemon in the game, and the models themselves have insane amounts of polygons for models found in other 3DS games (said high polygon count is also why the 3DS games run so terribly when you're in a Double Battle, SOS battle, or Horde Battle. The 3DS just can't handle rendering that many polygons without shitting itself).I’m sure it’s going to be a gradual thing bringing the other Pokémon into the game. Yeah, it sucks they’re not all there from the start, but like...that’s a LOT of Pokémon.
ESPECIALLY if they’d have to program models to walk around.
Don't care if Growlithe and Lillipup exist already. If they don't have a Corgi pokemon, I'm going to be really sad.
Exactly. I think it's going to be something quietly patched in over the course of a couple of updates for the main game and Home. I find it hard to believe that Gamefreak forgot that one of the draws to Pokemon is catching them all.I’m sure it’s going to be a gradual thing bringing the other Pokémon into the game. I Share that sentiment. Don't some of you guys think you're overreacting just a bit?Am I the only one who doesn't feel like this is worth boycotting the game over?
I will go with "Option A" given that if Gen 8 will introduce 100 new 'mons that will be over 900 total. If they wanted it to be a true fresh start, they would have gone with all new Pokemon ala Pokemon Black & White instead of bringing any old favorites. The best course of action--as I see it--is to just wait and see. This could be something they can "fix" with a patch later on.I was thinking about this, and I don't think that's the case here. People are experiencing/faking heartbreak because they have to start over without shit from two decades ago. They just don't know how to let go.Truth be be told the salt is pretty hilarious as well as understandable.
On one hand I can completely understand the disappointment as people do have an emotional connection to these virtual mons. It's no surprise to me that some people would be somewhat upset. HOWEVER, I do think some people are definitely being a bit...lolcowish about it? Like, I get being upset, but some people on the forums (not here) are really freaking out, especially on reddit/twitter.

I understand. The reason why I'm not broken up about this is because I've yet to actually use pokemon bank.If I can't play as Scrafty then I don't want to play your stupid game.
In all seriousness, everybody has their favorite Pokemon; Pokemon they've carried with them across games and across consoles. It sucks that after 20-odd years of playing with the same Pokemon that they're going to have give them up. I'm sure all the new Pokemon will be great and all, but I WANT MY GODDAMN SCRAFTY.

The reason why I'm calm is that there are thousands of others who can be butthurt for me.I Share that sentiment. Don't some of you guys think you're overreacting just a bit?
