Why do you think Red/Blue have so many glitches, including the fact you can manipulate encounters through your character's name using the Old Man Glitch?
Honestly, I was always thought it was because a game like Pokemon had never been made for the Gameboy before, and that they had rush it out before they could fix all the bugs. Upon learning this new knowledge, however, that seems to be not the case.

To the surprise of literally no one, tumblr is having a stroke over the new water type gym leader, Nessa, wearing a bikini that is "too sexual" and "muh Gamefreak is always sexualizing muh peeohsee."

She looks like Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire without the white hair, Tumblrinas are just showing their hypocrisy again.

I have a thread already set up for a pokemon furry who has started acting like regulas upon hearing about what game freak did. It was made back in 2017 and much of his behavior is limited to furaffinity and his twitter

To be fair, RBY were insanely complex games for the time and they actually fixed that shit in GSC. Those games are probably the only Gameboy titles that have crash handling. Nowadays they just include crash handling with console firmware.

After all these years you'd think they'd get better programmers though.

Let's face it.

Despite this decision... Pokemon fans are still going to buy the games.

We all know that they'll buy it. It's practically coded into their DNA.

They bought Sun and Moon, they bough X and Y, they even bought Pokemon Let's go P/E. During February this year, Pokemon Let's go was the 5th most sold game on the Switch.

If they build it...

They will come.

'Oh no I can't take my old pokemon and shinies with me boo hooo'

Shut the fuck up. You're gonna swallow Game Freaks cum whether you like it or not.

It's not like Pokémon fans are able to boycott anything that has Pokémon written on it.

It's always the no-life 1% who scream the loudest when this shit happens.

Other people with real life move on and use the Pokémon Game Freak provides in-game.

What still fucks ME up is the god damn loading time before each encounter.
There is always a 2-3 second white screen before the Pokémon actually appears.

Then the throwing animation which takes an eternity which you can't skip.
Then it has to build up tension by showing the battlefield first.
And THEN you can select your move.

Gen 1-3 was so good to hop in and out of a fight.

After that every generation became slower and slower.

Sad!

So I figured out why Game Freak is doing this. Masuda, in interviews, is talking about "animation quality", and "balance", but that's all excuses to mask the real issues. I mean, really, THIS is what you'd call "quality animations"?

With characters LEVITATING off the floor?

But no, the real issue isn't this. The real issue is the thing that's made very clear in this video right here:
You see that Steelix popping in? Notice how the smoke and black hole effects above appear WITH IT. That's not its own thing, that's a part of the model. Every single Dynamax'd Pokémon has its own, oversized model, and I think THAT is why Game Freak is cutting on Pokémon, because otherwise they have to make a model for EVERY Dynamax'd Pokémon, resulting in a ton of bloat and not fitting in any Switch cartridge or the console itself.
Keep in mind though this game isn't finished and that this is the playable demo. It does looks pretty bad for them though. Hopefully it looks better on release (Also was the Bethesda comparison really necessary).

everytime i ask myself if i should get back into pokemon, the new games dose something that turns me off and i dont play them. the last game i played was black and white 2 and it ended on such a good note, i dont want to ruin that memory by playing the newer games.

... Then why would the lack of transferring matter to you?

If that's not what's turning you off, what is it?

the hand holding, un-skipable cutscenes and more focus on story are big turn offs for me. im playing pokemon to go on a journey. not listen to other characters issues and being part of a story i almost have no say in.
But it's an RPG. Sure the stories in pokemon aren't all that impressive but one the biggest components in RPGs is the story. As for the hand-holding, the most that older pokemon fans complain about is the fact that you can't just skip the tutorials. Hell, the mario and luigi RPG series allows you to skip the tutorials so I'm not sure what stops gamefreak in this department. However, I never thought that the cutscenes were that long. I never minded them since I found them to be enjoyable to watch.

Then why'd you like Gen 5? It's considered by fans to have one of the best stories around, and was focused on story too.

And it still held your hand in those, and I'm a diehard Gen 5 fan. Hell, you couldn't even unlock the higher difficulties until AFTER you beat the games.

I think the issue is that while the cutscenes themselves aren't that long, they happen so frequently that they seem a lot longer than they actually are. They all kinda jumble together.
That was my problem, I like listening to rlm and shit when I game and the cutscenes had me stopping any video I was listening to constantly. When it was over I'd unpause and have to pause again within less that 10 minutes

beacuse the story was not up its own ass and had a interesting concept. the problem with gamefreak is they refuse to fully commit to their story out of fear of guilty tripping kids or talking about child abusive.

the hand holding was minimum and the characters did not overstay their welcome every cut-scene.

You know i think that's the heart of the problem i have with the later games. They really want you to be invested in these boring characters that have the depth of a puddle while pacing the cutscenes as if they were voiced. The main draw of the pokemon games should be the pokemon not the uninspired anime stereotypes they feel obligated to keep recycling. Anytime there aren't pokemon on screen, you should be asking why aren't there any pokemon on screen?

For all of the vague reasons I dislike pokemon go it at least got the dopamine-like hit of interacting with pokemon right. Shit maybe the games were holding them back the whole time? They haven't iterated in any meaningful fashion, they aren't that popular with the mainstream anymore and apparently they aren't able to code the games in a way that isn't retarded.

Probably to cater to the older audience who constantly pestered Game Freak to give the series better plots and characters. With Generation 7 it seems Game Freak couldn't decide whether their target audience was kids or the older adult fans who were playing since R/B/Y. The hand holding game play clashed with the cut scene heavy plot. Trying to please everyone is a really bad thing to do. Pick a target audience and stay with it.

Though it doesn't matter in the end because these fans are just going to buy the games on day one anyways. And they'll continue to do so until Game Freak stops making games.

As for the reactions towards Nessa, imagine if Lenora was made today? Tumblr would have a full blown meltdown.

This is really the best way for them to go about. If you want the kids keep the kids. If not, appeal to the older fans. Game Freak also claims that this entry will appeal to the older fans as well, so I'll just see where they go with that.

Seeing as how the "Bring Back the National Dex" hashtag was trending Twitter after Masuda made the announcement, there's a good chance they may have shat on the bed a bit too hard this time.
