Come back to this after getting Zygarde and level up your team to 100. Don’t even try otherwise, btw the last one will have a mega as a final “fuck you”
Or if you have the DLC, go get Annihilrape and delete them.
oh, no, i /refused/ to wait to complete the quest, i was determined to get through it with my normal party, which consists of houndoom, alpha tyranitar, ampharos, feraligatr, banette, and altaria, all leveled around the late 80's, early 90's. i equipped houndoom with a pecha berry to heal poison and buy time, alpha tyranitar had leftovers because i figured its high hp and bulk would make it hard to kill, ampharos had a magnet, feraligatr had mystic water, banette and altaria both had their mega stones. 'but lurker why didn't you equip your feraligatr with its mega stone to counter the last guy's mega tyranitar?' because i found that the best way to handle the challenge is to never switch out unless absolutely necessary, meaning that i just went by original party order (lowest to highest level), and feraligatr was either in the third or fourth slot, therefore it likely wouldn't survive until the tenth battle. did i go about this in the most autistic and least efficient manner possible? yes. did it take me over 10 tries? yes. but i beat the challenge, so there's that! additionally, because the first try is always free, you can farm money by beating every trainer and failing on the tenth, since you'll just spawn back at the front desk with whatever money you already won, and the game will continue to let you try again for free. also, this is a good way to grind out the # of trainers battled request, since the game doesn't care if you face the same trainers over and over, they'll count towards the total.
This fat bitch only show up at night time. Now I hear you can find her easily in the Mega Dimension but J couldn’t verify that
the npc /did/ specify nighttime, but ffs, it's got like a spawn rate of 5% or some shit. i read the same thing, that jumbo-size pumpkaboos were easier to find in the mega dimension, but since that's postgame and i want to complete what i can beforehand, i spent an inordinate amount of time catching pumpkaboos, checking each one to see if it was the correct size, only to realize that if you talk to the mission npc and say you have a jumbo pumpkaboo, the game will check your boxes and confirm if you have one, so you don't even have to manually check, not that manually checking would work as the size displayed in pumpkaboo's summary is only describing the form, not the actual size of the pumpkaboo within that form, so there's no real way of knowing unless you're able to discern sizes just from the summary picture alone.
yes, this is all very autistic, i know.
