94: full course of battles: three star. ffffuuuuuuck this mission. 10 trainers, 3 pokemon each, no healing. while i was overleveled,
Come back to this after getting Zygarde and level up your team to 100. Don’t even try otherwise, btw the last one will have a mega as a final “fuck you”
Or if you have the DLC, go get Annihilrape and delete them.

think 98, where a trainer wants you to catch a jumbo pumpkaboo, but she specifies that she doesn't mean an alpha one

This fat bitch only show up at night time. Now I hear you can find her easily in the Mega Dimension but J couldn’t verify that

Also, did pokemon company ever released an artbook with the full HQ pokemon card arts without the borders and in full resolution? For collectors who enjoy the art this may be even better than the cards themselves
God, please, I want this so bad. I love Sugimori's watercolors, and fuckass styles like this cg kakuna.

And I want more, and in higher quality!!

I want more Toshinao Aoki cards or better yet would love a next gen mon designed by him.
Hisone To Masotan is one of my favourite more recent original anime and he did the character design for it.

APesudo dragon designed by him would be very cute.

Replaying Colosseum and when I saw the 3D model for Wailord, I thought of what could have been for console pokemon...

And a reminder for what we actually got...

I had this thought while thinking of replaying the alola games, and I might only think this due to hindsight, but I unironically would be fine if the switch games were at least consistently good and solid like Base SM, even if they aren't as great the core DS game. Maybe keeping the great gameplay additions from USUM and possibly even have some spikes in quality once in a while, like how ORAS was for me. Now there definitely would be other issues that would rise up, like price increases for games and DLCs but I don't think there would be as much "toxicity" in the community as there is now. Hell, theres barely if any hype for new pokemon games anymore, even from "mainstream" poketubers, something the 3DS era still had plenty of.

Also on a sidenote, my team for Colosseum. I'm using some unorthodox pokemon as well as umbreon for the first time (I usually use other eeveelutions or use another bulky pokemon like quagsire in Colosseum.

oh, no, i /refused/ to wait to complete the quest, i was determined to get through it with my normal party, which consists of houndoom, alpha tyranitar, ampharos, feraligatr, banette, and altaria, all leveled around the late 80's, early 90's. i equipped houndoom with a pecha berry to heal poison and buy time, alpha tyranitar had leftovers because i figured its high hp and bulk would make it hard to kill, ampharos had a magnet, feraligatr had mystic water, banette and altaria both had their mega stones. 'but lurker why didn't you equip your feraligatr with its mega stone to counter the last guy's mega tyranitar?' because i found that the best way to handle the challenge is to never switch out unless absolutely necessary, meaning that i just went by original party order (lowest to highest level), and feraligatr was either in the third or fourth slot, therefore it likely wouldn't survive until the tenth battle. did i go about this in the most autistic and least efficient manner possible? yes. did it take me over 10 tries? yes. but i beat the challenge, so there's that! additionally, because the first try is always free, you can farm money by beating every trainer and failing on the tenth, since you'll just spawn back at the front desk with whatever money you already won, and the game will continue to let you try again for free. also, this is a good way to grind out the # of trainers battled request, since the game doesn't care if you face the same trainers over and over, they'll count towards the total.

the npc /did/ specify nighttime, but ffs, it's got like a spawn rate of 5% or some shit. i read the same thing, that jumbo-size pumpkaboos were easier to find in the mega dimension, but since that's postgame and i want to complete what i can beforehand, i spent an inordinate amount of time catching pumpkaboos, checking each one to see if it was the correct size, only to realize that if you talk to the mission npc and say you have a jumbo pumpkaboo, the game will check your boxes and confirm if you have one, so you don't even have to manually check, not that manually checking would work as the size displayed in pumpkaboo's summary is only describing the form, not the actual size of the pumpkaboo within that form, so there's no real way of knowing unless you're able to discern sizes just from the summary picture alone.

yes, this is all very autistic, i know.

One of the things I do commend TPC for is they at least attribute their artists on cards, but are autistic about the concept of prints. I would love to own some of the prints, but from my understanding they’re usually just reproductions because the official art in itself is put away. This is a very stark contrast from Konami, who refuses to acknowledge their artists and credit them directly and MtG, which loves when people on the secondary market bid for lithographs and prints of the art used on their cards.

Like a month or two ago I got back into TCG Pocket (right around the time they JUST started their B-Series cards with Mega Rising) and the difference between when the app just launched to now is night and day. The fact that you can choose which booster pack you want to open is good, and some of the old cards when combined with the new cards make them much better than they were without them (using Quick-Grow Extract on an old grass deck from the Genetic Apex series)

PVP is still painful though. I've tried going into it without any EX cards and it's damn near impossible to pull off a win because now you have multiple legendaries that are EX cards, which means they can be plopped into play all willy-nilly without needing a basic card because they ARE the basic card. It was manageable when it was just Mewtwo because at least it took 4 energy for his big attack and even then he needed to discard 2 energy to use it so you could at least set-up for a revenge attack on the opponent (assuming they didn't already have Gardevoir), but now you have shit like Tapu-Koko where it's first attack is giving itself more energy after it attacks you so it can easily set up it's big attack that has no drawbacks. There's currently a Mega Ampharos solo vs event where the master rank is facing this motherfucker (Tapu-Koko) ontop of Mega Ampharos. The Mega Alteria deck is THE WORST deck I've ever faced because it's just giving people free shit ontop of healing them with Indeedee, so it's not only hyper attacking, but stalling at the same time. On the plus side, if you take out a mega, you immediately win because they give you 3 points of victory.

The best I managed to do at the last PVP ranking event without an EX card was Poke Ball Rank 1 with a deck that had Pidgeot from Genetic Apex. Although I have a feeling even if I go into the next ranking season (whenever that is) with an EX deck, I probably won't fair any better considering people that have played this more than I have seem to have an uncanny ability to just fuck everything up with only a few cards.

The dyke partner of the woman that got shot had this eevee card in her phone case lmao. I think it got a reprint in the McDonald’s set from last year, which adds layers to hilarious irony.

Is this supposed to be a bad thing?
It would be fine if the official games weren't already shoving past gen shit into newer games. Gen 1 and 2 specifically get a lot of fucking love and attention... creepily moreso than the newer pokemon that are supposed to be shown off first and foremost. This shit started with Gen6 and hasn't let up since then but only gotten much worse. This last gen alone we have clones (Wugtrio and Toedscruel), Past/Future versions, and new evolutions of Gen1/2 pokemon.

I can see where the fatigue would set in for some people. You want something different and unique to get away from the horseshit GF is pumping out, and then as soon as you go to google you get 876243672467243 versions of the same fucking game where the gen1/2 pokemon came from.

Gen 6 felt like peak genwunner bait, especially where you get a second starter from kanto which could mega unlike your smelly modern starter. Mega distribution was also pretty kanto-focused and included the first explicit Charizard favoritism by giving it two megas.
Combine this with the Pokemon Origins series building hype for mega evolution with a new slightly more mature take on the red and blue story just prior to XY releasing and you've got a recipe for even a younger, less jaded version of myself thinking "they REALLY want to recapture the genwunners, huh?"

Gen 6 felt like peak genwunner bait
  • Start new game
  • get past the "friendship is magic" handholding, including when you receive your starter
  • get past the first tiny town that's literally 5 seconds away from your house to go into the woods
  • LITERALLY A MINIATURE VERSION OF VIRIDIAN FOREST
My first immediate thought was ".......... uh ok, but why tho???"

I think Persian is the closest 'mon to Hobbes of Calvin and Hobbes.

Yeah there is some tiger 'mons (like Raikou and that red guy), but Persian has a similar build and maybe similar personality tendency.

(maybe a Mankey is closest to Calvin)

M YouTube feed keeps recommending a lot of videos regarding any Gen 10 leaks and even video tha try to anticipate what would happen in the 30th Anniversary.

I keep ignoring those videos, since I find that speculation premature. I would rather wait until the actual company releases their own information.
