The co-op looks really freaking cool. I have a couple buddies in mind who I know I'd have a blast with replaying gen 1 with, but with co-op.

I only have 1 pressing question though. Let's say you're just about to fight the Elite 4, and you desperately need the EXP to level your Pokemon because when you fight them, there's that huge rise in levels. Do you still get EXP from capturing Pokemon or are they completely removing EXP from wild Pokemon all together. It just seems with the whole "capture only" mechanic in this game, it's going to be a bitch leveling your Pokemon if you don't get EXP from at least capturing them.

I swear, if one of these autistic gen-1 purists start throwing a tantrum that MissingNo. isn't going to be in the game so it isn't a true remake, please post it in this thread. That will make for a really good for a laugh.

I'm more curious about what the Pokemon we've never seen before is. I'm hoping they bring back something like those old beta designs that were found a week ago, would be a nice surprise.

Also don't know if this is straying off topic, but did anyone hear of the rumors that someone might've gotten ahold of the 1997-8 Spaceworld Pokemon Gold beta? One of the holy grails of beta video game content? There was a thread on /vp/ discussing it at some point and screenshots of it as well.

Oh man! I love me some Digimon!

I gotta admit even though the game os just a spin off, it looks really fucking good. And in already excited to see how gen 8 will look like on the switch.

Like having your character 3d and customizable, or having your pokemon (any of them) follow you around, and just having everything look nice and crisp.

This looks like a fun game for everyone. Although a $60 price tag + a $30 glorified pokewalker might turn some fans away.

I just see this game as a base for future pokemon games on the switch. And so far its looking pretty good!

My only concern is that I wish the pokemon moves were more vibrant and detailed but otherwise expect a lot of geeks playing this outside.

Not a fan of the gameplay changes. If they wanted to recreate the feel of pokemon go just make it not work two-thirds of the time.

Adult Pokemon Fans are already getting hopping mad on 4chan (and probably elsewhere) because this game isn't a True & Honest Core Game, but are optimistic that by throwing out the chaff for Pokemon's intended audience now, it'll mean that the 2019 game will be made especially for hardcore spreadsheets types.

People in other forum and Social media were ultra mad about those rumor.
They usually shit on 4chan leaks (like any other rational person should) but this time were hyper agressive reeing to people who talk about that.
I'm happy about this being true because the shitstorm is hilarious and it isn't metroid federation force level of insult to the franchise(I didn't see a bad game in that trailer).

REEEEEEEEE, where is my Colosseum 3?
In all seriousness, it looks interesting in the sense that they are trying to expand on aspects of GO.
I'll get my popcorn and strap in for the ride.

I've seen more than a few people call it a Yellow remake, but that seems like a flimsy comparison given the only similarities is has are being set in Kanto and having Pikachu on the box. I'd call it a general Gen I remake with a smattering of HGSS thrown in.

So Gen 1 gets a second remake before Gen 4 gets even one? *sigh*

Doesn't seem like that's happening this year or next now.

The lack of wrecking innocent woodland creatures with the dark god that my 10-year-old character has enslaved and confined in a ball on his belt is putting this in no-sale territory for me. If they'd done a legit remake of Yellow with modern console graphics I'd've thrown money at them, but ripping out most of the fighting and replacing it with Pokemon Go's stupid catch mechanic... eh.

I'll wait to hear more before I make my decision on whether or not I'll bite. The fact that they're trying something different with Wild captures is interesting, even if I've never been a fan of Go myself. I'm just wondering how it is they'll simplify leveling, as some article mentioned. And I know that it'll be all Gen 1 mons, as well as some Alolan Formes, though it'd be nice if they included later evolutions of Gen 1 mons, especially access to all the Eeveelutions.

In terms of the "never before seen Pokemon" that was teased, I get the feeling it might be Gorochu. Given that when mentioning cut mons from Gen 1, Gorochu seemed to have a specific mention. Admittedly, if true, it would mean that the Pikachu family becomes a four stage family. Of course, I'm most likely very wrong, but given how Pikachu is the series mascot, I also wouldn't be surprised if this ultimately happened.

With how Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee is going with a Pokemon Go capture system, it got me thinking on captures, and I would wonder if a Befriend system would work as an option. Since we've already got Pokemon Amie/Refresh, why not use that to potentially befriend Wild Pokemon, and get them to willingly join us? Granted, some Pokemon, such as Legendaries, would still require battle/old fashioned capture methods, but in terms of roleplaying, such an avenue could add something.

Let's Go will be garbage so let's talk about the GSC beta rom dump instead:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B5epMdm1Wcvh33qFABpw-SO76uZt6WNSl0UsD5yq_dI/htmlview#

Lots of removed and changed mons. Pichu used to be a ball, Leafeon was meant to be in gen2, entirely removed evolution lines, etc. Togepi, Snubbull and Aipom are after Ho-oh in the beta dex so they might've been mythical at some point. Might explain why Togepi appeared so early in the original series of the anime, since it wouldn't have been the only time they would have just dropped something that was meant to promote the games (e.g. the GS ball)

They're working on an English translation of the ROM, maybe patching up the stuff that breaks the game currently. Would be interesting to see Johto before they slapped on the entirety of Kanto at the very end
