Hot damn, so your friends can enter their own characters into your game? That looks like fun.

I guess there isn't going to be an emphasis on random filler cities like I hoped, but at least they really did change the way you find Wild Pokemon. Constantly walking through the grass was frankly becoming really stale.

And hey, being able to literally throw the Poke Ball, right down to a Poke Ball accessory seems really cool.

All I know is that I need to get a switch sometime when monies free up
Do it.

I fucking love mine.

Sucks if you have no friends or significant other to play with, but hey, at least you can take Pikachu with you because public displays of :autism: are acceptable now days or w/e.

I’m not gonna lie, I might get it just for the fact that you can have your Pokémon follow you again.

I like how critics of Nintendo and The Pokemon Co. are quick to say the franchise is stale and doesn't innovate, yet the moment they change and innovate you get people losing their shit criticizing them. It's like a dipshit paradox.
>changing and innovating
>literally remaking a game for the second time
pick one

Not quite the Gen 1 Remake I envisioned (but then again, I do think every nintendo game from here on out should look as good as Mario odyssey but whateverrrr) but I think this game'll do just fine.

Still waitin on my open world Pokemon game, though. 2019 can't come soon enough...

I was excited but goddamn that trailer was painful. God awful "whoooa ohhhh ohhhh" squeaky clean millennial music and people giving each other high fives while catching a pokemon. Would have much preferred a trailer with the usual orchestrated title theme and some Japanese announcer blabbering "POCKET MONUSTA-SUBARASHI!!!"

Looking forward to having Muk or Weezing riding shotgun with me.

Since this isn't mainline I wonder what we can expect from gen 8?

Watch people prefer Pokemon Lets Go because the main campaign is more focused and there's no horrendous power creep like the current games. I'll enjoy both but I hope the battle mechanics are enjoyable. There probably won't be breeding but I wonder if we will see EVs and IVs return in some form. Didn't Pokemon Go have those somehow?

Wait, didnt the pokeball already already happened with the special editions on hearth gold and soul silver?
I remember carrying my darkcry everywhere and you were able to get items and catch pokemon
Wtf nintendo, why are you acting like that shitty 50 dollar add on its the first time it was been tried

I'm pretty excited; I'll almost certainly buy it. I'm not a fan of transferring the Pokemon Go catching mechanics over, but, other than that, I didn't really see anything to dislike. No way I'm going to spend $50 on a Poke Ball controller to carry around in public, though.

Someone should make a thread on all the salt I've seen on the these games. There's pure gold on them, I promise you.

In all honesty, I've wanted games like these for awhile. It pretty different, but that doesn't make it a BAD thing per se. We even got confirmation that GF is making a another game akin to the regular ones next year. It's pretty much a win/win for casuals and competitive players.

What I do NOT understand are the people complaining that this game sucks already from a 3 minute trailer. I have to say out of all the franchises I've seen Pokemon fans have got to be some of the most stubborn people I've seen in any fandom. People complain the game is getting stale, they change it even a little bit and people bitch about it. Even when it's CONFIRMED to be a spinoff, people bitch about not getting what they want despite the fact you're still getting your regular game. What the hell?

Same shit happened with the Call of Duty franchise (look at AW, BO3, and IW), it'll be fun to see the fanbase completely be split between salt and throwing money at Nintendo.

Of course there's gonna be that one 20-30 year old that's gonna get the game anyway just because it's pokemon. I'm just saying that these pokemon go mechanics would appeal to the kids significantly more.

Adult Pokemon Fans are already getting hopping mad on 4chan (and probably elsewhere) because this game isn't a True & Honest Core Game, but are optimistic that by throwing out the chaff for Pokemon's intended audience now, it'll mean that the 2019 game will be made especially for hardcore spreadsheets types.
