I think the problem is not a lack of practice but a lack of self-awareness. His autism prevents him from understanding what looks good on him. He knows that there are Latina women who think it's a good look, but he's also incapable of comprehending that.

The thought process is:
1. "Latinas do this and think it looks good."
2. "Latin women are superior, so they must be right."
3. "I am a Latina woman."
4. "Therefore if I do that, it will look good."

It's cargo cult reasoning.

I remember phil sharing a bunch of clickbait about
"Dumb Sterotypes white folks think about latinas"
Phil clearly focused on the "were more than maids and handymen" and stopped reading because the next point was "we find the chola look just as embarrassing as everyone else".

His thought process was less "I am tired of white people stereotyping us" and more "I am [pretending to be] Latina and therefore this will reinforce my case! Would a white person share an article calling white people dumb? I think not!" He probably didn't even read it.

Even if his case for being Latina was better, like we didn't know about his family or he had darker skin, it would be really hard to believe him because he just tries too hard with it. Like, I remember he posted the photo of himself with some Mexican cheese and a caption saying something like, "We are both Latina!" Because that's what Latinas do whenever they find stuff from Central America, of course. For a similar reason, you can't take Chinese people into electronics stores.

Actually I doubt Phil read it beyond the word Latina, let alone comprehended it. The funny thing is, his whole world is nothing but stereotypes. He tries very hard to run with the whole chola look because he thinks that's what true and honest Latinas do, and mixes up Puerto Rico and Mexico because all Spanish speakers are the same to him.

Does it have to do with the duck tape? I cant make out what the purpose of it is, if its holding the straps together or holding something on or what. Or the drawstring barely visible?

Haha, no actually I believe that was intended to be a ring of keys to go with his whole bicycle fetish thing. Its just it looks like shut and nobody would really think that people would tattoo something so retarded on themselves so we tend to put more thought into his tattoos than he does.
