Hope everyone had a good league-start! I am on my way to two stones as I took my time in the campaign. I had one of the smoothest league starts I've ever had with Ice Shot of Penetration Mines Deadeye. It's already off-screening and destroying Breach fortresses with a cheap tri-ele bow and a Fury Valve which is nice.

I have also dropped 2 divs from the stupid Genesis tree which has taken care of all my early maps gearing, it's actually cracked. The rare item maker on the tree is a slightly weaker but easier to do version of the Necropolis mechanic and it consistently gives you 5-6 links too.

It's a shame they got rid of the full stack of currency node because one of my guild members got a 20 div pop himself. And a different guild member got lucky ID-ing a 1-passive Voices this early into a league.

That's great! I can't dedicate as much time as in the past to PoE, so I'm just now leaving act 8 with a very slow time of 7 something hours; having to respec around level 40 (didn't feel like Kinetic Rain could be good/easy to level at league start) didn't help since I had to farm for gold

After ditching KR I had to look up something different to play and in the end I settled on Volatile Dead, which got a nice damage buff.

No lucky drops so far, my net worth is 5c lol

Made it to maps and about to start reds. Got a lucky drop (20/20 gem from Mysterious Wombgift that I sold for 50c) and a decent 5l, so I swapped to my main skill (VD) and damage is mostly decent for packs, though a bit low for single-target. Survivability is not the best and I can't clear fortresses yet, so I'm skipping them.

Thanks to Kingsmarch shippings I'm getting a good amount of low-value currency (saves me from buying it for chaos), so I'm focusing a bit more on it and speccing my Atlas for Kalguuran stuff. Do you guys have any suggestions for early Atlas tree?

Scourge + Ritual + Bestiary for that sweet sweet gold

Ground loot seems pretty rough this league so things that are consistent profit are probably gonna be better rather than juicing normally. Harvest, Beasts, Essence, that kinda thing. Essence probably less so right now because of the Giving Tree, not enough demand for endgame crafting yet

According to Reddit, essence is getting partly bricked by NuBreach as are a bunch of other mechanics. If you get the 'defend Ailith' encounter it is eating a whole bunch of the natural mob spawns of the map and using those spawns for the breach, which is NOT GOOD for a lot of strats.

So I would say Harvest, Blight, Deli/Sims, Strongboxes (unsure if they get cucked when doing the expensive containment scarab strat though), t17 scarab farm. Stuff that isn't really reliant on the natural mob spawns of a map.

I had a feeling that might be happening when I saw how fucking big the hives are, but I haven't seen conclusive proof of it. It wouldn't shock me at all though.

I saw anecdotes on reddit of people noticing far less essence mobs, and getting fuck all stacked decks when doing the cloister scarab farm.

Personally, getting the defend encounter is as much as a full delirium reward bar worse than a map where I get the normal breach.

This is a thing that's been a problem repeatedly over the years but it's hard to establish exactly how and why it happens. We know very little about the way that maps and the content within them are generated, other than that there are limits and content will be culled if those are hit.

Well, I almost got caught up on the doomerism then I just played the game and I got a div and a scarab worth 2d being used by Ultimatum farmers. Legion isn't affected by Breach taking up space so it's fine. Currency incubators consistently give you a Divine at least once a day (assuming you play at least 3 hours a day and blast through maps with a lot of clear). You can also save the emblems so you can upsell them as sets to 5 ways runners on 3rd party trading sites.

I got a better tri-ele bow now (still not T1's) and just waiting to buy a 6L Lightning Coil so I can take another crack at those Breachlord bosses myself since I prefer not having to pay for carries.

Apparently, Ultimatum is the money printer currently. The problem is you need to be a certain build (usually CWS Chieftain) and it's a hard getting to that point if you're league-starting RF.

It was solid last league, and nothing about it got nerfed this league. I played it last league and then invested until I could afk Simulacrum and printed divines by selling unID Voices.

It's not actually hard to build or very expensive, it's just complicated and if you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to brick the build, so it's not a new player friendly build at all. The only part that is nerfed this league is Vaal Breach being unobtainable, which means you can't call in the boys to blow up Trialmaster if you're forced to take the curse immunity modifier, so I'd just end the run before the final wave if that happens now.

I rised from my retarded poverty gaming and got ahold of a few divine-making strats, but now I'm reading that they nerfed one of those (blue to kaalgur) in the past few days, is that true?

I did one try four days ago and got 2d (pure luck as I still didn't know anything), so I researched a bit and found out about it, then I focused everything on that (ie no gold spent on mining, smelting etc., just farming blue and disenchanting, with a bit of mapping on the side). If they really nerfed it, should I respec a bit of the Atlas into something else instead, or is it still worthwhile? And if it is, is one huge batch still the optimal strat or could making more smaller ones be best? Asking because I was saving up for that 17M shipment, which is going to take a while especially if I unallocate the Atlas node that converts into crops

Besides this, I'm experimenting around with Delirium and Blight, plus buying a few things that I know will go up in price as the league progresses (yes, this is new to me, as I said I've always played for drops, but this time something switched and now I want to start learning how to make currency even if it's not ungodly amounts like HH/MB by week 1). Nothing major as I don't have enough to make big trades, but should be good enough for me

I highly doubt there has been a nerf to Kingsmarch in the last few days. It's still early in the league, people were throwing out wild theories about buffs and nerfs to shipping last league too because there was no collected data and people were taking their own anecdotal evidence as fact. In terms of actual profitability from Kingsmarch, the most profitable strategy is always going to be mappers if you can afford to keep them running, but that does require being able to run some pretty juiced content to afford.

Delirium isn't worth juicing right now beyond just using the mirror to add more monsters to your map, people have observed a noticeable penalty in total rewards earned when you get a defense/fortress breach encounter. Just having a mirror is still good for some cheap extra juice but I wouldn't be using Deli scarabs.

Blight is a strat that doesn't really combine well with most other strats. It's good on its own, or when you invest specifically in juicing rares and the blight bosses, but juicing Blight itself doesn't really benefit any other strats. I enjoy blighted/blight ravaged maps, but those require literally zero investment since they don't use your atlas, you just anoint and roll them.

Thanks, I appreciate the help and insight!

I'll keep farming Kingsmarch then, and see if I can do something with mappers.

I'll scale back Delirium from the Atlas, too.

Blight has been good to me so I'll keep doing that, working towards being able to consistently run Blightspawn Atlas passive, I'll need a bit more DPS for that though lol

SlipperyJim has tested this out and found out that this is complete poor ledditor cope horsehit:
The hive monsters clearly look like they are added on top of the map-generated natural mob spawns.

I am currently leveling a Templar twink as I am planning on doing a life-stacking Energy Blade Inquisitor using the Foulborn Ghostwrithe which gives 'Your maximum energy shield is equal to 50% of your maximum life." This means energy blade does not affect the amount of max ES I have and I still get all the benefits. Undecided on what skill to use or now but I'm leaning towards the classic Penance Brand of Dissipation.

It might be I'm just shit, but has anyone else seen an imbalance between wombgifts and graftblood? My stash is already a third full of the former and I'm only at white maps

GGG themselves have noted that hives specifically impact Essence and Shrine monsters. All other mechanics seem unaffected however according to their internal tests.

It's a bit off. You want grafts with increased graftblood found for sure. I'm running two and I can incubate most of the unique and currency ones I find. People have also noticed some grafts seem to cause a huge drop in wombgift drop rates but it's all anecdotal right now. Specifically sometimes ones with increased likelihood of specific types might nuke your drop rates of all of them. So keep an eye on your drops after swapping a new one in just to be sure.

edit to add; I'm in yellow maps (was too busy to blast this week) and I'm getting basically zero wombgifts from anything except fortresses. I currently get more graftblood than I can use :story:

For the first time in forever I went meta and I'm lucky for it. Deadeye Kinetic Blast wrecks, it trivializes the league mechanic so hard I'm pushing Delve for the first time in years while waiting for Atlas strategies to get buffed - I did enough Blight, Ambush and Harbinger last league, so I'm disappointed that those are among the least nerfed.
