Partner finally got a new GPU that can actually play PoE. Looks like an aurabot is back on the menu, boys.

It's not really something anyone can give a straight answer on. Things I know do help way more than people give them credit for are having more RAM and running on an M2 SSD that isn't nearly full. The skill you play also matters so god damn much. Especially in Blight, you need to really nuke the enemies ASAP or they stack up and then the game slows to a crawl because of how many enemies it has to calculate. It's a fun league mechanic but the performance is definitely an issue if you don't have corpse explosions.Funny that you mention this, as I was just wondering what kind of hardware this game actually needs to run somewhat smoothly. I'm not saying 4k 180fps max details, but holy shit, I have a 5600 + 9060XT and Delirium is enough to tank my fps, while blighted maps are almost impossible to run and survive as it often dips in the single digits fps, even with lowest settings possible (FSR max performance or NIS 50%, low/medium details). Is this normal or a me problem?
Anyway, league is not the best ever but I'm making good currency, and drops are being kind to me overall, so I'm happy
Your CPU is poopy and POE is a notorious CPU rapist. Whatever graphics you set it to will barely matter in this situation. Avoid projectile and DoT spam builds and it'll chug a bit less. Don't crank the mob density in maps. Close off any background programs, especially web browsers.I have a 5600 + 9060XT and Delirium is enough to tank my fps, while blighted maps are almost impossible to run and survive as it often dips in the single digits fps

For a little bit of context, I use a 4060, with 32gb RAM and running off an M2 SSD, and the game runs mostly smooth for me. However, I choose to eat the frame loss and I disabled upscaling completely. For most gameplay I can maintain 60fps as long as I'm not playing anything silly like Spark + Celestial Herald of Ice with all the speed and projectile count bonuses possible. But playing anything like Delirium + Beyond is just always gonna run like shit. I don't think there's a system on earth that can play maps like that at a steady framerate.
Back in Affliction, I played a Kinetic Blast Deadeye with Headhunter that could run 100% Deli + Beyond + Breach, and the frame rate was so bad you just right click and pray.

Sorry, I meant that you want stuff that blows up enemies, not removing corpses specifically. Stuff like Inpulsa's Broken Heart, Chieftain corpse explosion with 100% ignite chance, even Herald of Ice, and so on. The big issue with Blight is that it throws hundreds or thousands of monsters at you at once, which really slows the game down a lot if you're having to kill them all individually. Being able to blow them up to deal HP% damage helps thin the herd a lot and makes a noticeable difference in your frame rate. You're right, though, and I completely forgot about the skill I'm using, which is VD/Desecrate (which should consume enough corpses in Blight) triggered off of Frenzy and I do make a lot of fire balls and projectiles despite not having amazing DPS, so monsters in blighted maps often pile up (alive).

For what it's worth, my CPU is also my bottleneck, usually sitting at close to 1.5x the response time of my GPU when I press F1 generally.
Inpulsa was just a generic example, since I have no idea what your exact build is (besides VD). If you make a https://pobb.in/ link for your current POB then we can take a look for better ideas.Oh, I get it now. I guess I can try to slot an Inpulsa and see how it goes, though that would nuke my survivability. Thanks for the tip! edit: PoB says I'd lose 20k EHP which isn't little. I guess survivability hasn't been too much of an issue in Blighted maps and I can give it a try. Worst case scenario I wear the Inpulsa only for Blighted and not normal mapping, if I feel a lot more squishy
Same here, but my CPU takes up to 5x what it takes my GPU some times, even with less aggressive FSR. Time to start looking for an upgrade I guess, somewhat juiced maps are a nightmare to run like this

This is why I never play POE with the sound on unless it's my first time meeting an NPC or doing a boss fight. If you are playing any build with a modicum of cast or attack speed or triggers a lot of spells, the audio's gonna break eventually anyway. One thing you can do if your PC is struggling is go look up how to disable game sounds in the config files. Some stuff has notoriously horrible impact on performance, corpse explodey business being one of those things. I think disabling main game sounds also disables loot filter sound, one of them does at least, but other than that disable as much as possible. Give it a try and see if it helps at all.
A little late, but as you're playing an Elementalist, Inpulsa's Broken Heart is a good option. You have guaranteed shock, which means every enemy you kill is guaranteed to explode for 5% of their max HP as a random element. So long as you aren't giving up something extremely important for your build, it's what I would go with. I do have some questions about your build, like the lack of flasks lolThanks, Inpulsa actually works great, since I shock: I'm VD Ele with Shaper of Storms allocated! The ES and Life hit is considerable compared to a rare body armor, but it's still manageable.
Here's the pobb, though: https://pobb.in/XBMYOSYYXsOM
I appreciate the help!

I got boned. I went from having a 90% XP bar at level 96 to hitting level 98 just running Defiled Cathedrals trying to get Nameless Seer and scry the map's cards. And guess what? Still no seer.
That is a shit map to scry, don't do it. It's never going to drop (as there's no space in atlas strategies to juice up div cards), and even if you get one apo to drop in 500 maps from now you then have to compare it with the value of all the other cards you could have dropped instead, and dropped them much earlier (lower inflation + snowball effect from having the currency earlier). Scrying a map with only one good but very rare card is a dented-head, dopamine addict play where you lower your income for one potential dopamine hit.running Defiled Cathedrals trying to get Nameless Seer

One of my strongest builds (in terms of power vs current meta) was a similar build. Mana stacking Heirophant with Indigon + Poet's Pen. Those were good times.I wasn't really feeling VD even though last time I played it dual Poet's Pen was the BiS equip (i.e. a few years ago). Oh well!
