Well, that would explain why the Catholic Church is in a vacuum and leaving Catholicism blocked from doing the Council of Trent in 1567.

Obligatory map post, I got cucked out of colonizing most of the Carribean due to shenanigans with naval supplies not being supplied to my new world colonies in Quebec and Greenland.

I should mention that I require the tech sapport sars, what console commands do I need to use to get this back in order?
BTW if you wanted to headcanon that, isn't a Calvinist Catholic basically what Jansenists were?

The türkiye could be the REAAAL symbol of America today
Turkeys are fucking stupid. There's tons of them around me. They just run around in circles like retards, babbling their retard turk speak. At least passenger pigeons can fly.

I wonder how Mustafa Kemal Atatürk would feel about modern day Turkey and the cult around him decades following his death if he was alive today. While I'm sure Atatürk would appreciate that Turkey cherishes him as a leader and his efforts to modernise the country today, he'd defend the right to openly criticise aspects of his legacy or poke fun at him. Like other uses on this forum, I also get the sense that he'd be pretty disgusted with what Erdoğan and the AKP have been doing over the past 20 years.
And many Turks like pajeets believe that they are going to be next(islamic) superpower.
At least Turkey has some level of both hard and soft power. The Turkish army ranks pretty well in global military strength and Turkey itself is a member of NATO. Turkish dramas and music are quite popular in many Middle Easterrn countries that don't particularly like Turkey. Almost everyone loves Turkish food too. Nobody consumes Bollywood or Indian music except Indians and the Indian army is a laughing stock. I suppose Indian food can be delicious if cooked well but the internet videos of Indian street food vendors have destroyed its reputation. Then again, other NATO members sees Turkey as a poor and unreliable ally. Its neighbours don't like it for historical reasons and its current government sucks. Also like jeets, Turks online are nationalistic keyboards who love Turkey so much that they live abroad. Both Kemalist and Islamists are guilty of spewing ultra-nationalistic talking points from their apartments in Europe. There's an actual branch of the Turkish ultranationalist Grey Wolves in Europe by the way. :story: Also, how untrustworthy and disliked do you have to be that not even BRICS, the shithole summit, wants you as a member?

Ataturk was a fascist anyway. Hed be proud of the genocide denying activity the Turkish government but would criticize them for not getting rid of the kurds.

Also came across a Book called "Ataturk in the nazi imagination." Turns out Hitler greatly admired kemal. This admiration was not reciprocated by mustafa.

...I'm not terribly fond of theocracies. It seems like the only way to expand is to demand that people in your diocese their backup heir and then kill all their heirs and then kill them. Even if you're independent you can only expand doing that or becoming a heretic and just holy warring.

who the hell ever wanted to play a theocracy?

It could be fun if done right, like if the Papal States could make small holdings internationally, like how banks work in EU5, where they could if strong enough have massive influence.

I can't bother with CK3, so I don't know if that's already how it is or not.

I rarely play CK3, and mostly in MP (it's an excuse to talk with the lads while playing a "game" that's barely a game), so this time we went in to try the new theocratic expansion..... for some unfathomable reason at the start I went "uh, you know, I'm not willing to learn another bunch of useless Paradox gibberish, you people go theocratic, I'll go feudal and try to be a good sport".

After a while playing and chatting I slowly realize that while my friends are getting choked by the usual Paradox fare (bugs, unclear mechanics, bugs, chaff mechanics, bugs) I'm merely map painting. But I distinctly remembered from our previous games a shitton of useless chaff mechanics..... we never had a plague. I never saw a Legend or whatever the crap is. Retarded RNG events were almost non-existent. I swear I saw a single Tournament with all the retarded busywork that it entails. I mean, I wasn't bothered, when you can plan a map-painting game properly without swedish gay RNG tee-heee crap it's a relaxing experience.

It is possible that Paradox weights the chances of events so the paying monkeys get more keys dangled before them when they buy a new release and old stuff gets stealth deprecated? Or I'm simply insane?
