Not surprised. They're pretty blatant in their cheating
I'm surprised it took them this much time to try and get rid of them from their game. This isn't the first DMM tournament they attended, nor are they known for anything else than rule-breaking and toxicity.

RoT is famously known for association with Mod Jed, whom has been fired for logging into regular players accounts using other workers admin credentials and stealing their gold at around 250B to RWT, after which he sued Jagex for unfair dismissal and won £1,008.

In-game economy of gold doesn't really matter because it's just a game. Cheating doesn't matter (usually) in RuneScape because it doesn't affect you, unless you're a PKer (but you agreed to step into the dog-eat-dog territory and knew the consequences). Stealing from players as a game company worker is eligible for TND in my eyes, and it's only the tip of the iceberg people unaffected by them know of. These people know and participate in the most scummy things available to them, and turning a blind eye on the matter for so long by Jagex is baffling, ESPECIALLY with the amount of false bans Jagex easily hands out to skillers, which are quashed merely MONTHS later. Yet I feel kudos are warranted to the osrs team for taking any action whatsoever. Better late than never?

Well with Fagex going completely woke and banning regular players but not bots is really gonna go down smoothly for subscription numbers. I hope Elon Musk buys up the dying brand at some point and brings it back to life.

They'll just buy new accounts and be back in a few days lol
Literally my exact thoughts, I get that the precedent of this event means now every time they do DMM they have to hard check every possible winner before actually naming a winner (which I’m pretty sure they’ve always had to verify accounts first) but what does that mean for the actual purpose of a finale for these events?

But ya they’re just gonna be right back to business like nothing happened, all this does is get the subreddit to shut up about it

Like a junkie with autism, it may feel good for a few days but that itch in the arm will always demand a bit of that sweet troonscat heroin/dopamine hit.

"buy" "new" "few days" as if they don't already have at least 20 alts per member actively trying to get up on their feet.

I think this is the start of nuclear guerrilla warfare against RoT/branches. Jagex is already going for the woke progressive transgender-friendly look, they don't want to be associated with toxic ddos'ing stalkers. They did remove a rank 5 overall from hiscores, so i doubt they'll stop at anything now.

Every RoT member was proud of their belonging to the clan, and as of today it ceased to exist. There is no clan cup trophy, there is no elitism, there are no unique 50b rsn, there is no belonging. People will not associate with them anymore because they don't want to get banned off the game.

There is most likely going to be resilience from RoT, but at this point they are no match. They're just a player of their game after all. I hate to use this example but it only took 2 nuclear bombs in 3 days after 6 years of war for the most resilient country on earth to surrender.

I hope this is the start of "nuclear guerrilla warfare" against RoT-style degens, but let's be real. They likely organized over discord and their hierarchy and statuses/achievements are preserved. They'll buy or bot fresh accounts and replace what they lost within 6 months. The only person who lost something of "value" is that retard with max EXP, and he probably botted it anyway so its whatever, or he's autistic as fuck and is getting off at the idea of doing it again. Jagex will turn a blind eye now that they've got their PR victory and reddit is back on their side.

Good luck all on the new spider boss Araxxor, I dumped 1500 slayer pts and all I got was a kalphite task I was forced to do because no more points :(

If RoT were just turbochuds and nothing else I'd feel a tinge of sadness. But they're just such faggots about how they play the game. The botting and DDOSing are what irk me the most.

Reminds me of getting back into Fire Emblem with 3 houses. I had to pick "Body Type A" or "Body Type B" and either way get referred to as the captains "child".

I bet big money the game in Japanese doesn't do that. Just the shitty American localization. So off putting.
this is not how three houses works nigga, it's because pronouns aren't really a thing in japanese. almost all of the "bisexual' characters are female because japan still hated fags when 3h came out

Don't forget to tip chuds!

Christ, it sucks seeing the media properties I played back circa 2007ish go to shit

This is RS3 making OSRS share the burden. RS3 has huge stuff planned including a new area (potentially the size of Kourend/Zeah, at least on first release, we don't know) and some other major stuff in the pipeline. They're also toying with the idea of removing microtransactions in some capacity. They're justifying the hike with the consequential labor of RS3's content and potential treasure hunter removal, and given you get both games for the same membership...

I'm in on an old 3-month sub or something so I think I'm grandfathered in.
