The state of Oregon has joined 48 other states in the union to allow “self-service” gas stations, meaning you can now pump your own gas as opposed to a “full-service” station where an employee does it for you.
New Jersey is now the only state to not allow self-service at all.
Growing up in California, it's second nature for anyone who drives to pump their own gas regularly. I can't imagine how difficult it is for someone to get some money or their credit card, pay for their gas, remove the cap, then fill their car up! It's not at all difficult. Anyone saying it is, is just a privileged pussy who's too lazy to get off their ass for a few minutes.
How to create more jobs: Make more things full-service by law. You just walk around the supermarket and point at the item until an attendant puts it in your cart. You get an attendant to bring you clothes instead of walking around a clothes shop. Instead of reading the newspaper, an attendant just reads it to you. Instead of fucking your wife, an attendant fucks her for you.
Yes, Oregon and New Jersey has a law banning self service gas stations, Oregon has lifted this ban and it seems more rural gas stations (stations in counties with less than 400000 residents) will be self serve only. This is probably because having to pay a gas pumper minimum wage (or whatever a gas pumper makes) round the clock isn’t cost effective in low traffic areas.

My SO is from Oregon and even he thinks that getting salty over pumping your own gas is stupid. I understand that if you're disabled or a senior having someone there to help is nice, but a completely able-bodied person has no right to complain and it just seems lazy as fuck.
Oh yeah they can, unless unattended gas stations still somehow remain illegal. There are surely plenty of places where it makes sense to sell gas but not keep a convenience store up.
