i always got more of a feeling that robin and luffy would end up being a thing. i dont see franky ending up with anyone honestly since i think he will eventually go even further down the cyborg path with help from vegapunk and live forever.

Honestly, I feel like the best one for Luffy would be Uta, if only because she knew Luffy from childhood, and with that she would know how to deal with Luffy’s more idiotic moments which would make Nami rage at him and punch him .

I honestly like the idea of them more than him and Nami. Mainly because Nami is a twat a lot of the time and is always raining on Luffy's parade. Robin is on his wavelength and seems to really understand how his mind works. Like how she managed to get him to remember Marco by commenting his head looks like a pineapple.
 
I could see Oda's romance comment just meaning on screen, I can also see luffy and nami just do to author insert.

I've kind of grown to like luffy and boa though, can't explain why mind you.

There’s definitely an intended parallel between Shakky and Rayleigh’s relationship and Boa and Luffy’s. Which implies old man Luffy may suck up with random women from time to time.

Catching back up and when they were recapping York being captured, her moving her legs sounds similar to Imu when they were walking.

If Imu turns out to be a York esc creation…

And Oda did say Luffy would be five parts greed, one part violence…

i could see that being a twist down the line. though i dont think it would be anything as direct as imu and luffy being part of the same person. could totally see imu being some form of puppet himself though. any time imu is shown i keep getting this feeling that he is going to be a tiny little guy standing on something that he controls to walk around.

Didn’t mean to imply him and Luffy are part of the same person. Just using the fact that Luffy, our modern day Joy Boy, is five parts greed and one part violence to explain how current Imu could be sitting the throne, he killed the other versions of himself due to greed.

Considering how much Oda hates Wizard of Oz, I wonder if it’s going to be that Imu matches the shadow form rather than being some guy behind a curtain using special effects and pyro to project a giant floating head.

And rather than Luffy clicking his heels together to achieve his goal, he instead uses The One Piece to achieve his dream after Imu and Blackbeard are defeated.
 
on the topic of joyboy and luffy. what are the odds the complete strawhat crew ends up being a mirror image of the people joyboy interacted with in the past. for example zunesha and emet could be joyboys versions of chopper and franky.

There’s a reason I’ve been saying Imu was Joy Boy ever since it was revealed Zuneshia knows who Joy Boy was.

Absolutely Joy Boy’s crew is just going to be the past version of Luffy’s. Except Giant most likely.
