Its interesting how One Piece, for its absolutely insane length in the anime, doesn't really have what could be considered traditional "filler", whereas Naruto, which is practically half as long, has several fucking seasons of it. Although with Naruto, unlike One Piece, the world building the side character usage is so fucking bad that I honestly think that Naruto actually NEEDS a lot of its filler to even make you care about its barebones characters and world. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
The original Dragon Ball did filler well by just fleshing out the stories so they could fill 26 minutes. I don't know why One Piece (and modern adaptations in general) are so fucking scared of changing anything.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that the ADHD niggers and other assorted special ed cucks that make up large portions of the anime fanbases will absolutely chimp out if there is even a slight change to the original manga, even if it would be a good change like retconning everything starting with Neji's death or Kaguya's appearance.

I have to think Bleach and Naruto soured a lot of people on the idea.

I have to wonder if that’s the case in Japan. Maybe they also feel like the west in that Sanji’s attitudes toward women aren’t the best (like refusing to fight a woman even if it results in his death. And being a simp.)

Seriously though, its like the differences in the original FMA anime scared the entire anime and manga community for life.

It's just a different attitude toward women. Sanji isn't taking any right away and it stopped coming from a place of sense and more "I felt he didn't suck women off and this makes me uncomfee!" . That nerdy daily guy spend the early episodes not even liking the mild heart eyes reaction to women sanji liked, saying "uhhhhhhhhhh, okay. Really weird", "Oda.................you're really testing my patience here", and ".......................fuck off". ?....fucking hell

I find it funny he was put off by the early episodes, considering that was Sanji at his calmest when it came toward reacting to hot chicks.

So on the topic of Sanji, who's his final ship? I think it will be Pudding or Nami at this point, likely Pudding as it all ties into the final fight with Hachinosu, as I think that BB will have Avalo Pizarro use his fruit to basically park Pirate Island right outside of Laughtale or Lodestar, giving the Straw Hats time to rescue their friends like Pudding or Garp.

Yeah my money is on Pudding, especially because I believe Oda has said no romance between the SHs.

I'm honestly surprised people people don't make a bigger deal about that relationship due to the age gap, pudding(16) and Sanji(21).

I do think people take that one quote from Oda, WAY too far, as stuff like Franky and Robin has clearly been hinted at ever since Water 7, with Luffy/Nami also having surprising evidence, like Nami asking Luffy is he would ever buy her something like a wedding ring back on Fishmen Island, but I digress.

I think the idea is that Oda won’t show romance between the Straw Hats because shonen readers in Japan wouldn’t be interested in that kind of thing. The closest we’ve gotten to canon romance is:

Usopp/Kaya, and the live action series had them kiss

Sanji/Pudding, where the wedding was more to form a political alliance than anything else

Luffy/Hancock, where the relationship is where the romantic feelings is only on one side, and also treated as material for a running joke.

There may be romance, but I don’t think it’ll be shown much, if only because to avoid the things like love triangles, will they/wont they baiting, or folks getting on Oda for lack of things like confirmation or development.

Remember when Naruto/Hinata and Ichigo/Orihime were confirmed a decade ago? (Wait that was a decade ago?)

Well yes, I absolutely do not think that this series will ever turn into some romance drama garbage like Twilight, but I also would not be surprised at all to have Robin and Franky's final panel be their wedding, or it even being revealed in an SBS, same with Luffy x Nami, and the fifty million other ships in this series.

They did fall in love though.

I assume that Oda does have pairings in mind but he keeps them a secret since that is not the story he wants to write. Maybe he will show them one day but I am not holding any breaths.

I’m not sure about that. I think that the final panels would be something like all the Straw Hats enjoying their dreams being reality, and then Luffy going on some other adventure befitting his Pirate King status because unlimited freedom.

I think his real dream is something like “everyone is free as he is thanks to being pirate king”, or what he said against Kaido where “everyone can eat as much as they want”, Or something like the “I’d like to buy the world a Coke” jingle, or the sake toast he did with Ace and Sabo when he was a kid. Just something really simple, yet could be seen as this grand thing to everyone except Luffy. And that’s what One Piece ends on (assuming it doesn’t end with the treasure being found).

It will obviously end with the Final War, which will be the Marineford parallel, meanwhile, Laughtale will be the Impel Down, but overall I agree with you that the final panel will likely be the Straw Hats sailing off into the sunset.

A lot of the more modern Shounen fans were young during this time. I know it's a One Piece fan but very few people i've met have as many fond memories about OG Dragon Ball compared to Z because it was what they first saw some stuff like Toonami.

I feel he is waiting to finally book end the series but it's kind of interesting how he's never actually ship teased in One Piece. Most of the time romance is used as a plot thing (to show two character's parental status and their importance as family to another character) or as a joke with characters like Sanji.

They did fall in love though.
Touché.

But still, the wedding itself was an arranged marriage to unite two families together and fulfill ambition rather than the culmination of a character arc centered in romance (like if Sanji’s feelings went from not getting nosebleeds and heart eyes at every woman to only getting those things for only one woman to developing feelings for and marrying that woman). So it’s still just Oda not really throwing the shippers a bone or anything like that.

Maybe the endgame will have Sanji planning his own wedding dinner or something, rather than just going along with a scheme where he plays the role of the groom.
