I'm pretty sure this is gonna be the last Disney trio game.
Thank fucking God. Its been how long since Sora first started these adventures? I'd say he's old enough to get into trouble in Wall Market with Big Sis Yuffie.

I know this might sound blasphemous but they actually did a good job making Sora and gang fit in properly in the Caribbean, and we did have the entire endgame of KH3, so making the art styles match would be child's play. Would also be smart business sense since Disney isn't worth nearly as much as it used to be after going all-in on DEI, especially in the Japanese market.

Instead of doing disney they should just add FF like in the golden years of the series or add some weird collab with idk shonen jump or some shit. I just dont want to deal with disney being in KH. Hell ive always thought the franchise would be better off without it after KH2.

I actually just got done playing 3 some months ago after years of putting it off, I had fun with it and enjoyed the gameplay, but it doesn’t really hold a torch for me compared to 1 & 2. Revisiting the series now and then, it still feels like it could have ended perfectly after 2 since Sora finally reunited with Riku and Kairi.

It’s also occurred to me that over the years I think I’ve come to find the original characters more interesting than Disney, especially now that there’s enough original characters and all that, feels like they don’t need to rely on Disney anymore (which someone already mentioned above). I find myself a lot more invested into specific characters than the 100th Disney world which doesn’t have any major relevance upon the overarching story besides being fanservice to Disney adults.

yeah there was a notable drop in Disney writing past 2 and BBS. Really got the feeling Disney clamped down and gave less freedom to do whatever with the characters. Toy story and super 8 in particular were a pain in the ass apparently because the creators needed constant back and forth before they allowed changes.

A good example is nomura trying to get Oswald the rabbit in kh 3 and being pissed he couldn't. That may have been a rights issue but I can understand why he'd be pissed. He's something of a forgotten prototype of Mickey.... Kinda like versus noctis is for 15 noctis.

In any case there's less and less things to do with the cartoon bros. They could probably still do some stuff with the Disney live action catalog but the world's are likely going to be a lot fewer and more mature. Personally I would enjoy seeing something like avatar.

I believe they have shown hesitation in doing FF worlds for some reason in old interviews I've read. I am wondering if they would save that for another game.

Toy story was the better part.

Frozen & Entangled were 1:1 to their movies and refused to include Sora and shit.

At least Marluxia got to actually interact with some Disney characters. Larxene was deadset on making sure Sora didn't change one iota of Frozen's plot.

I'm not sure if Frozen or Monsters, Inc was the worse place.

Can we talk about how awful the first one was? there's a shitload of people who play final mix and feel like its "underrated" fuck no. you didn't have leaf bracer and a shit ton of other abilities to make use of that make the game easier, even your companions properly optimized keep fucking dying because they always decide to run up close. they get better near the literal end of the game, but thats still 2/3rds of a game where they're literally useless. Magic doesn't start working out for you until way too long into the game either, outside of wonderland the bosses seem to mostly be immune to magic as well.

also the entire tarzan fight with the fucking chameleon will always be bullshit in my eyes, aren't his eyebeams unblockable? then there's Clayton on top. so two different monsters you literally can't kill and its before you learn cure.

i still remember playing Monstro and donald and goofy being fucking useless in the boss fight because they didn't understand being hit by the acid. no triangle button meant it was obnoxious to use a lot of the time,

I played 1 as a kid and almost beat 2. I bought the 3 remasters and fucking hauled ass through 1, then lost steam for 2. Then I beat 3 instead for the first time.

I love the original characters. The disney side of things I just completely ignore almost subconsciously. I was really into the story and even watched the 365 movie of 2 hours or whatever, and the entire concept of "oh wait shit there's an entire ass story before Sora involving competent and capable characters?". I always hated the chosen-one storytelling, especially when the character is sidelined with someone who earned their skills, ie. naruto and sasuke, goku and vegeta. I really need to play those prequel games but I still need to pull my ass together and beat 2.

Real talk. I love the idea of final mix and the secret boss fights are awesome.. they are way too hard with that command deck kill grab. Also changing the colors of every enemy sounds cool but none of them are as iconic as the originals. I don't think there's a way to change it back.

There's a lot of good story stuff man but don't push yourself on the side games if you don't like the gameplay. Some bits I had to watch because I just didn't have the time or inclination.

Star Wars in KH couldn’t be any worse than the Star Wars we’ve gotten in the last decade so why not
I love how Nomuras Darth Vader figurine is the same aside from having muscles, a belt and sephiroths cape. Legit respect how he didn't try to reinvent the wheel.

Man, now you're making me want to hear Uematsu's takes on some of those classic scores. You know, Imperial March that's rocking guitar riffs for the standard rhythm notes and then transitions into organ instead of trumpet for that chorus-like section.
