So where are we at with this franchise, where's KH4? Missing Link should have been a fucking Switch title, there is no reason why it needed to be this gay ass phone shit like Union X and Dark Road.

TGS isn't that far away brother. But if it makes you feel any better (or worse) Mickey was wearing soras clothes at the D23 event. In the mean time I got something cooking im about to show in the FF thread that might hold you over.

Missing link could pull an ever crisis and port it to PC. Especially if the sales are any better or even on that front.
 
I just beat Kingdom Hearts 3 and fucking hell was the Disney meddling strong with this one.

>Radiant Garden only in cutscenes and no Final Fantasy crossovers
>Elsa's entire goddamn "Let it go" song as an in-game cutscene
>Most of the locations are from the new Disney stuff aimed at girls, taking advantage of that demographic's well-known fondness for Squenix RPGs

Oh, and that's not getting into a plot even more messed-up and confusing than KH2's, because in that game at least we got a reasonable synopsis of past events from Yen Sid right after the Twilight Town prologue. Fucking spinoffs.

Keyblade War, XEHANORT, Darkness... did Squenix get Kojima to moonlight for them?

But hey, at least the Caribbean was fun and surprisingly faithful to the movie in tone, and was a surprisingly good discount Black Flag.

The vibe I got from 3 was "let's ship the dam thing out so I can get away from Disney in the next game"

So where we looking at for this franchise now boys? There's rumors that KHIV is being rebooted, either at the behest of Disney, Squeenix, Nomura, or any combination of the three.

This is the first I've heard that. Where'd you hear it?

I'm also just trying to get over that it's been over 1,000 days since Kingdom Hearts IV had its trailer with essentially zero news since.

Oh shit, I forgot about this thread until I saw it pop up in my notifications.

Some interesting news for people: I wound up joining the KH ReFined Discord server a while back (yeah yeah, I know, MEGA GAE) and while there's been a lot of gib money stuff posted, there's also been awesome stuff like multiple shortcut menus accessed right from the hotbar as well as menu-less keyblade switching.

2 will always be the best entry for me. Combat is unmatched in the serie. The Drive forms and the reaction commands make combat feel more personal. Kingdom hearts 1 is good, but i would say for me is second place in terms of how good it is but i wouldnt say its the best entry.

As for KH4, i hope it doesnt have a shit combat system like 3 and they actually bring reaction commands back.

Reaction Commands might actually be back judging from the drill attack in the trailer.
 
The word on the grapevine is that square has been radio silent on FF9 and KH because they have a company wide showcase in February. Take it with a grain of salt but it makes sense.

There's a lot of implications that whatever happens, sora is not going to be able to come back to Disneyland (realm of light). I'm pretty sure this is gonna be the last Disney trio game.

1 has more exploration, more features and arguably better hit detection then the rest of the series, but two and three were better at combat. Id say I liked the story all around bar some moments of weakness in 3

They already confirmed in interviews they are bringing back reaction commands.

I don't know if stuck is the right word but young xehanort and the first kh 4 trailer were pretty insistent that the only way to go is forward.
